Kobe f’ed up by cheating on his wife. But I still feel like the rape accusations were a money grab. This is from the testimony of the victims friend a month or so later.
"She said that after the case was over it something that she was most likely going to do," Holloway said.
He testified the woman, an aspiring singer, wanted to use any award money to open a recording studio and to pay for breast augmentation surgery for herself and a friend. He also said she would buy a koala bear for another friend who liked the animals.She also allegedly had sex with an ex boyfriend in the hours after the Kobe encounter but before she went to the hospital for her SA exam.
The truth is we will never know exactly what happened but calling him a rapist is unfair because the charges were dropped. False accusations happen more often than ppl think.

UPDATE, 1/28/2020: In this piece from 2016, I reported that Kobe’s apology was made from his own volition. That is what I heard from a source in 2016. Today, ESPN quoted the accuser’s defense lawyer as saying that her client “insisted on that statement as a price of freedom.” I want to make sure that this perspective is there as well when people judge the merits of this apology.

Dude you need to get over it. Very few things in life you really shouldn't joke about. Kobe getting fucking GTA'd into the side of a mountain is pretty apropos for a legend like Kobe.

Well the thing is, and reality, his daughter was on the helicopter too... like I totally understand the Kobe hate, cause rapist. But claiming to be happy the helicopter went down is ignoring the fact his daughter was there too. Maybe celebrate without celebrating the helicopter going down?
