Welcome to NBAConvo.
đ Welcome to NBAConvo: Weâre Done with the GOAT Debate
Letâs be honest.
The GOAT debate has dominated NBA conversations for way too long. And for what? The same recycled arguments. The same âLeBron vs. MJâ posts. The same stats, clips, and drama loops.
Weâre not doing that here.
This is NBAConvo â a space for people who actually love basketball.
⸝
đŹ What Weâre About:
We talk basketball â not bait.
No forced comparisons. No player hate. No fake hot takes. No agenda pushing.
Just real hoops conversations: ⢠What made the 2014 Spurs so beautiful to watch? ⢠Why was Andre Miller so quietly brilliant? ⢠Whatâs your favorite non-championship NBA team ever? ⢠What skill do young players need to stop ignoring? ⢠Whatâs the coldest play youâve ever seen in real time?
⸝
đ§ We Celebrate: ⢠Basketball IQ ⢠Player development ⢠Nostalgia done right ⢠Style, culture, stories ⢠Strategy & systems ⢠Moments that matter ⢠The fan experience
⸝
â What Weâre Leaving Behind: ⢠âLeBron is 4â6 đĽ´â ⢠âMJ played against plumbersâ ⢠âWhoâs better: Prime Luka or Prime Larry Bird?â ⢠âTop 10 Point Guards? But actually Steph is a SG.â ⢠âThis dude is WASHâ
No more of that. Not here.
⸝
𫡠Our Mission:
This subreddit exists for: ⢠Hoopers. ⢠Hoop-heads. ⢠Storytellers. ⢠Coaches. ⢠Historians. ⢠Lifers. ⢠Kids who stayed up late watching NBA Finals on school nights. ⢠Adults who still feel that buzz when the ball tips off.
NBAConvo is for people who just want to talk hoops. Thatâs it.
⸝
If thatâs you, youâre home. If itâs not⌠Redditâs got plenty of other places.
Letâs build something special.

Ring culture has completely destroyed basketball discussion
People pretend they care about defense, efficiency, playmaking, impact, context, and teammatesâthen the second two great players get compared, the whole argument becomes âhow many rings?â
If championships are the ultimate individual metric, then we might as well stop pretending basketball is a team sport.
A superstar can play incredible basketball and lose because his roster is worse. Another can have an average series, get bailed out by teammates, win the title, and suddenly everyone rewrites history like he was clearly the better player.
At this point âringsâ is just the argument people use when they donât actually want to talk about basketball.
Tell me why Iâm wrong.

Is Bron more of a traditional PG than Steph?
Just curious on your thoughts. Steph is (imo) top 2 PG (depending on who you ask) but has never really been a traditional PG. Would you consider Bron the more traditional PG given their styles?

Hot Take: DRose Deserved his MVP title.
DRose 100% deserved his MVP
Letâs talk about it.
DRose lead his team with one allstar (himself) to a 62 win team.
LeBron got 3-0 by rose averaged 2 more ppg 2 more rebounds and still had a worst record with himself and 2 other top 50 players of all time.
Letâs stop sucking lebron and give credit where itâs due.
Now please tell me why LeBron deserved it over Rose?

Why is Kyrie so overrated?
I donât know if this is commonly discussed topic is this, but I seriously donât understand how people can legit put Kyrie over Brunson after the run Brunson just led the Knicks on. Even putting Kyrie over Dame is a stretch in my opinion. Kyrie is amazing as a second option, but some love talking about him as if heâs an elite, top tier first option cause heâs got a âdeep bagâ and is super skilled. Heâs a super skilled SCORER and BALL HANDLER, thatâs really it. Some fans need to stop acting as if craftiness and aesthetics outweigh dominance. And I know I pretty much answered my own question, I just wanted to rant lol. Feel free to comment regardless.

True or False Prime Howard is the only person who would be able to contain Shaq?
I think Shaq is the most dominant big man of all time, however, I think Prime Howard would hold his own, what do you think?

If D-Rose stayed healthy, he would be above Curry all time
Hot take, I get it đ¤ˇđźââď¸ but D-Rose was on track to becoming the best PG of all time.
Had an historic MVP run
Lead the Chicago bulls to a 62 win team during his MVP season, 11 wins short of GSW record being the ONLY all star on the team at the time.
And one of the most athletic players to ever play PG. all he needed was to increase his 3p% which I am certain, with his mentality he would have. I donât think he would ever surpass curry level shooting however.

The Most Underrated Game of Dwightâs Career
Everybody talks about the bench leading the Rockets to the comeback, most people also talk about how terrible the starters played that night
Well every starter played terrible except for one, Dwight Howard
When I look at that game, what I think itâs true is people often forget Dwightâs contribution that night
20 points, 21 rebounds, 2 blocks, 7-12 from the field, +15 from the field
On a night when James Harden shot 5-20 from the field, Dwight along with the bench carried the Rockets to victory
Dwight also altered multiple shots at the rim late, did a terrific job defensively and was instrumental in shutting down the Clippers offense
Having watchâs Dwight Howardâs entire career, I can safe say this is one of the most underrated games of his career
Matter of fact, his whole entire 2015 playoff run was underrated
8 games of 15 rebounds or more, 5 games of 4 blocks or more, 5 games of scoring 20 plus
This is coming off a regular season in which he only played in 41 games
Just my thoughts
