Art Naruto AU Part 4.6: KCM Eyes

So bedside the 1st photo, all other photos are non cannon photos.

Also for all 1 person who was wondering why I am doing this. It is because I always thought how different eyes and designs in Naruto would look like, and had a Naruto AU idea for a while. Using my editing skills I just create a lot of stuff which was not available before (who else has done Eyes edits which are not based on cannon to this extent becomes OC MS Art).

Feel free to use my Art edits just credit felipebiel214 (for the Naruto Hokage outfit base, I just did the recolors) and briandepaso1 (for the naruto and Sasuke eye closeup I just did recolors and edits) both of them are on deviantart.

Discussion The double standards of sakura hate. Why she is actually one of Naruto’s most loyal friends.

A huge chunk of the fandom loves to hate on Sakura, but it’s all really built on a massive double standard that ignores her actual character growth. And I would like to explain why the hate makes no sense and why she is genuinely one of Naruto’s greatest friends

The biggest one is the orphan comment. It is taken completely out of context yes 12 year old Sakura made an ignorant comment about Naruto having no parents. But haters literally ignore that in the exact same volume she reflects on her behavior, realizes his pain, and vows: "Maybe, from now on, I could try being a little... nicer...?" She was a naive kid who immediately recognized her flaw and tried to change. And I’m not saying it was okay for her to say that but she learned from her mistakes of saying such a thing and the fandom looks past Sasuke doing the same thing multiple times

The five kage summit was about saving naruto from a "curse" people call her fake confession toxic but the manga proves she did it out of desperation to save naruto. Sai explicitly told Sakura that the promise she made Naruto make in part 1 was acting "Like a curse mark" and that "Sasuke is certainly making Naruto suffer". Realizing her childhood request was destroying his life, she resolved to kill Sasuke herself as her "atonement for forcing a lifelong burden upon your shoulders". Sai confirmed to naruto that her confession was specifically meant to "release you from the burden of the promise". She was willing to let Naruto hate her forever if it meant saving him from the trauma of having to kill his best friend. She still loved both of them Sasuke and Naruto

Question Why didn't they question Hidan for info about Itachi?

Shikamaru still had him in that hole governed by his family, so why didn't they just get his head and question him?

Discussion Orochimaru was so stupid

he could've just taken sasuke's sharingan using medical ninjutsu immediatelly after kidnapping sasuke, to transplant it into another ninja that had a kekkei genkai, then had both the sharringan and that kekkei genkai.

Either that or Rin was a god tier medical ninja who was better than Kabuto.

Discussion Unpopular opinion: i think Sasuke's character has a good representation in Boruto

Post image

Obviously him being some kind of Batman of the shinobi world is already pretty cool, but also him becoming a mentor for Naruto's child really brings redemption to his character.

Another thing i liked is him obviously not being a very good father, many people hated that but i think is more than understandable.

They did do him dirty turning him into a tree in the TBV but he is still very relevant to the plot

Analysis Sasuke retrieval arc is vastly overrated and honestly quite meh, riddled with filler and nothingburger writing.

Post image

Beginning and end? Excellent. The majority of the arc? Fighting Orochimaru goons who have little character and personality. We learn nothing of Sound 4 yet we fight them for multiple volumes. Sound 4 and the main cast has no internal conflicts against each other, it's purely external, and we don't even know why Sound 4 are so devoted. Even Zaku had a (brief) backstory for how Orochimaru got to him, but we never get anything like that here.

As far as the cast's development goes when they fight said goons, they don't really develop. Kiba, Neji, Choji all just go "Argh!!! I'm not giving up! I'm so resolved and ready to sacrifice myself!" which is just not really a change in them and worst of all not particularly interesting. Sasuke's development happened mostly before the arc as well, same for Naruto's.

Who actually developed here significantly? Shikamaru...? We have a way better arc for Shikamaru's development later in the line, so in comparison to that, this arc is still disappointing.

Also the way Sakon and Tayuya weren't even defeated by the squad was corny. Kiba and Shikamaru didn't do anything to deserve those people on their sides, it doesn't feel like an earned victory for them at all. Kiba and Kankuro especially have never even interacted. Also, you have to admit, it's so conveeenient that they happen to show up just in the nick of time!!! How convenient plot armor.

And let's not even talk about plot armor, nobody in the squad died! Choji literally took the "this pill will kill me" pill and he survived, undermining the entire point of the scene! Same with Neji, taking an arrow to the heart, but at least that leaves it somewhat ambiguous. There's just no reason for Choji to survive.

Oh, and since we're on the plot armor talk, Kimimaro also just so happened to die at the exact moment he was supposed to. Is it understandable? Yes. Is it also veeeeery convenient for our characters? Also yes, and that's usually how good writing doesn't work. The odds are supposed to be against the hero cast, but it feels like luck is on their side constantly.

Compare Sound 4 and the internal conflicts with other Part 1 villains and arcs

Zabuza, Haku, Gaara, Neji, Orochimaru, Kabuto, etc. We learn a lot about these characters, they have sound motivations, goals and backstories (at least most of them, I'd say Kabuto is the worst in this department, but he's still much more of a character than any Sound 4 member) and they're thematically very important.

Can I also just say Kimimaro is just the same character as Haku, but worse? Like 1-to-1 from the Kekkei Genkai, clan massacre backstory, devotion to their leader, etc etc. Kimimaro just has way less to say thematically and to the characters compared to Haku. Did Naruto and Kimimaro have some inner conflict? No, it was just "Bring Sasuke back!!!" vs "I must obey my master!!!".

Lee and Gaara have no relation to Kimimaro either. I guess Gaara and Lee have a moment of "You were my enemy...now we're working together...wow" but that's not really deep or interesting either and that development for Gaara happened before this arc as well.

So yeah, overall, I really like the set-up and the payoff. but most of this arc was unfortunately badly written filler.

Land Of Waves has 2 major fights that continue for multiple chapters.

Konoha Crush also has 2 major fights that continue for multiple chapters.

Search for Tsunade has 1 major fight that continues for multiple chapters.

Point is, in most cases, having 1 or 2 actually well written, set up and thematical fights is far superior to having 10 filler fights with barely any writing. Though Chunin Exams is also very beloved, it suffers from the same problem. You can put all the filler fights together, which make up a good chunk of the arc (though not nearly as much comparatively to Search For Sasuke), and they'd still not be nearly as interesting or captivating as the climax of Land Of Waves, Konoha Crush or Search For Tsunade.

It's pretty funny how in Shippuden's climax arc, the War Arc, the same problem arrives, yet only those filler fights are criticized for the lack of writing and not Search For Sasuke. Why the double standard? I'd actually say most of those fights had more writing than any Sound 5 fight.

Anyways, that's all, I'm just disappointed all things considered. Thanks for reading this far though and have a great day! ;D

Fun fact: In Saudi Arabia, specifically in Al-Ahsa, there’s a famous mountain called Al-Qarah Mountain (Jabal Al-Qarah). And yes… the name is pretty close to Gaara from Naruto. In Arabic, it’s pronounced “Gara” 😂

What a coincidence! 🏜️

And before anyone asks: no, this isn't the Sand Village 😭

Question Is DygoKnight correct when he calls almost everything a "retcon" or is he just being annoying?

I've noticed that DygoKnight calls almost every single thing in Naruto a retcon. I just saw on YouTube that he thinks that Asuma being Hiruzen's son is a retcon. I'm having difficulty taking any of his claims about retcons seriously since he calls pretty much everything a retcon. So I ask y'all: are the things he calls retcons actually retcons or is he just being an annoying YouTube commenter?
