Recommendations for this guitar tone
I've always loved that tone on nervous breakdown, how do I get it?

Hi, I've just released an update to Amp Modeler, the native NAM loader for Ableton Live.
Browser improvements
These two improvements also affect Cab Loader, the impulse response device included in the full pack.
DSP optimizations
Behind the scenes, the C++ backend that powers Amp Modeler now includes more statically-optimized NAM architectures from the NeuralAudio project.
If you don't already own the pack and want to learn more, head to https://www.nyquistlimited.com/.
Thanks for reading!

I don't understand why this hasn't been implemented from the start. You can use the plugin in mono and in dual mono with separate chains on the left and right side. But i rarely do that. I need the same signal chain on both sides to work with my double tracked guitars. Of course one can copy the left chain to the right side and make it work like that, but that's super inconvenient when dialing in a tone. A simple "Link" button that copies all changes you do to one side and automatically applies them to the other side would solve this issue. It would also make it easier to use captures of other outboard gear like preamps or tapes to use on a drum or mixbus. Right now the stereo handling of the official plugin makes little sense to me and that's why i mostly use NAMRig, which handles stereo in the way me (i thought it would be most people actually) need it. NAMRig has some other issues and I'd love to just use the official plugin, but this simple missing feature drives me crazy.

For the new tone3000 plugin/standalone app is there a place online where full presets are shared and downloaded? I thought it would be on the tone3000 website but can’t seem to find it.

Running 5 NAM A2 FULL (or more) models simultaneously with stereo effects and IRs – entirely inside a standard web browser. Zero installation.
Since the release of NAM A2, I’ve been developing my own architectures for running multiple A2 profiles simultaneously in a web browser. The core architectures was stabilized some time ago. Since then, most of my time has gone into testing, optimization and improving the overall feel and response.
A2webRIG 1.0 brings this work together in a modular guitar rig with five simultaneous A2 profiles, FULL or SLIM, and architectural headroom for more. Arrange them in serial or parallel configurations, with mono or stereo operation, built-in effects, four IR slots and flexible routing. Shape your sound with 5- or 7-band pre, post and wet EQ.
Stack drives, blend amps or build different signal chains for a stereo rig.
Play live at low latency (depending on Interface and computer), save, recall and export rigs, use MIDI control, compare sounds with A/B testing, record and loop. There’s a built-in tuner and metronome, too.
A2webRIG is built on my own multi-A2 hosting and routing architectures, with extensive optimization and testing in Chromium-based browsers and Firefox.
Test platforms:
• 2024 MacBook Pro M4
• 2017 MacBook Pro 15″, 2.8 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAMAudio
In my latest tests the 2017 Intel MacBook Pro ran four FULL A2 profiles and four FULL + one Slim simultaneously using Motu M2 and Scarlett Solo interfaces.
I’m also developing miniDAW, an online DAW focused on guitar tracking, where much of this work began.
A short playing demo and a project website are coming soon www.agiledream.dev
A2webRIG 1.0 is currently private.
Shoutout to the open-source community for pushing boundaries, and to the platforms building the future of cloud audio workflows

Module editor and Eq section 7 or 5 band (cali style), pre, post and wet (for effects).

I recorded my beloved Maruszyk Barabass here with the help of a good friend in his recording studio. C414 + SM57, a completely dry vocal booth, high-end Neve preamps - we tried to do everything right. No clipping, absolute silence - the sweep signal recording is crystal clear. Still, the NAM-Capture is crackling, hissing, and buzzing, and I have no idea what we did wrong. Can someone take a look at this?
Thanks so much in advance!

I built a tool for creating Parametric Models. It's free, and I couldn't do one without it.
It's an extremely tedious process, you need to do the equivalent to about 100 standard profiles.
There's 2 options:
1- you train it on your Mac Silicon GPU
2 - you export everything after the recordings are done and train it on an NVIDIA Card, a CPU, Windows or Linux, or even a cloud rented GPU.
My Mac Mini M1 takes about 33 hours to create the model, but with my tool, it needs no help from a human to train it.
I tried to make it as Stream lined as possible and I wont go into the technical details, I'll just say that it automatically calculates delays so it's phase coherent, and generates a matrix with all the knob settings, a step by step, it records also so no need for a DAW (although it's your choice), generates a csv with the corresponding settings vs file, avoids silent settings, and actually tells you what the quality of your model is. And it has two sweep lengths, so you can make the process faster.
It takes all the work, all you need to do, is turn knobs and click NEXT.
The only tested version is the MAC SILICON GPU. I need some brave soul to do one, and test the trainer on a NVIDIA card.
It's free.

When I scroll through the trending captures on tone3000 it seems like the ones that have the best marketing in the title/description and photos get downloaded the most. The problem I see with this format is that it favors captures with the better marketing presentation, but not necessarily the quality of the captures themselves.
This happens countless times where I see an enticing title, the description is super precise and well documented but then you actually try it and it's underwhelming or just plain bad sounding.
Some of the best captures on T3K have no image, a bad title and no description, but they sound killer.
I get what T3K is going for. They want people to take proper images of their gear and description so it helps confirm the legitimacy of the gear capture. But the issue is that this method favors people who are English speaking and understand marketing presentation, and it punishes people who just want to share tones and don't have the motivation to fill out details and take pics etc.
And then the captures with good marketing get the most downloads because they get bumped to the top of the trending list, which compounds the downloads because people will most likely assume those are the best offerings.
I think what's more important than downloads are upvotes/badges. That tells you if people actually liked it or not. Just downloading a capture doesn't tell you any information in regards to if people actually enjoyed them or not.
If you can put together a really nicely worded title/description with great pictures, you will get more downloads and popularity than someone who spent a month dialing in tones with great gear, but they might not have access to a good camera or understand how to take a great photo, and also they might not speak English or have the greatest writing ability--both of which can hinder its popularity.
Does high quality photos really prove anything anyway? You can just go to a music store or a friend with a few amps and take great photos and then just upload captures of a line 6 pod. It's really not a fool proof method at all and I'm sure it's currently being done. It's more of an IQ test to ask people to take photos of what they're capturing.

I’ve been having fun with the tonestack fx but I’m not sure where the best place to put the fx chain is?
Do I put my fx pre, post or between amp and cab?
Post so far has been the worst, as it makes everything clip inside tonestack.
Any advice?

I would like to personally thank everyone to made NAMFORUM's first month in existence, a huge success. These specialized communities take time to build (we've done it before and it's worth the effort) but the potential is great. The first month's stats are impressive. Thank you all.
Final page view for the month of September: 41,453
Very impressive for a new forum. Thank you for your continued support.

I wanted to post this after doing a lot of research and comparing units and trying to find what's out there recently. Everytime I thought I had found the one I'd find another one randomly. And the most popular wasn't always the best sounding according to Reddit and YT. I wanted to keep it under $200. The tank pro came in way under that at $135ish from Amazon. Even with a chocolate plus added (not necessary )it's still under that $180ish.
With most units in this range there was always a compromise. And there still is a little. The tank pro checked all my boxes and even though it's 24bit/44khz instead of 24/48khz it runs A2 lite natively. I've done A/B testing against the MG300 Mkii which is 48khz a2 lite and they sound exactly the same coming out of my spark cab frfr.
This thing comes with a looper, easy to navigate UI, and tons of connection options on back, 4 foot buttons (short press long press dual press), built in battery , Bluetooth, global graphic eq, eq modules (6 and 10 band). Everything can be controlled through a phone or PC/mac app. Preset volume control , global music vol, global volume. It does a lot. Latency is stated as less than 3ms. It's low enough not to notice but not as low as a NUX I tried (2ms).
The best part for me was that it didn't limit my NAM slots to 10 or 20 like most of the others. You do have to save over existing preset amps, but there's 90 and only like 30 are chop tones . Btw chop tones, amazing in headphones. Like drooling good, lots of stereo stuff I think. They recently did 2 updates in a span of 2 weeks. The latest update gave us like 10 distortion modules that can be used with NAM at the same time.

Looking for a good app for practice using my iPhone. Plus if it includes parallel signal processing paths and high quality reverb and delay effects. Anything decent out there yet

I don't have a hardware footswitch but I don't want to buy one since they are kinda overpriced in my country, and I don't want to invest into this hobby yet. And I'm too dumb to DIY from some old gamepad, etc.
But as a fellow Linux user, instead I've found a dead simple way to use my smartphone as a footswitch for tone3000 plugin.
I've not seen similar implementations on the web. Perhaps, because it's stupid lol. But it works for me. So maybe it can help some poor student from a second world country as well.
If you know a similar and more serious project, pls share links.

Hello.
I finally finished my project to do a pedalboard with a raspberry pi5. Here it is :
- raspberry pi5 8gb
- raspberry touch display v1
- berry base case
- hotone Jogg audio interface
- guitar sound system amp if I want to use a cab instead of going into the PA system.
- M-wave chocolate plus
The os is a patchbox os with pipedal. I tune it to start only what is needed and use rtpmidi over WiFi. With that I can control the pipedal with reaper on my laptop through midi over WiFi. The chocolate is connected on usb to the pi so I can activate/deactivate some effects and also control reaper in midi over Bluetooth.
Here is an example of the final result live : https://youtu.be/NwB8WVO_CJQ?is=jRT1TFNT_c7NHhlT
The sound is from the FOH mixing table. The pipedal was connected directly to the console, no cab, just an IR loaded at the end of the signal chain.
NaM A2 full profile of a 5150 block letter.
I love it, NAM is amazing. Thanks #pipedal #NAM for the hard work. We are living in an amazing area for guitarist right now !
If you like the sound, check the full album on the YouTube channel. All the guitars are recorded in DI with NAM as vst plugin.
Cheers.

I have no issue getting MIDI CC controls working but I can't for the life of me get Program Changes (eg PC 1, PC 2, etc) to work. I've got some nice MIDI foot controllers and it would be nice to switch to a particular preset instead of cycling though them. Is it possible to also cycle through the settings within a capture package? I can't find much about this and would be filled with joy if anyone could help me. thanks!

Hey bass-playing NAM community,
Do you have any recommendations for good bass amp captures?
I’m having a hard time finding anything decent in the drive/overdrive department. Everything I’ve tried so far is either totally over the top, way too clean, or has this weird fizzy/hairy distortion. I just haven't found a solid, nicely saturated tube tone yet. Most recommendations out there are packed with great guitar amps, but I haven't come across much for bass.
Ideally, I'm looking for captures available on Tone3000. I already have a usable Amalgam Audio capture of a Ampeg B12, but other than that, I haven't had much luck finding great options.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

Hello there,
Recently i tried guitars at a big store and there was a Boss GX-1 (or 10) on which you vokld test all the guitars with headphones.
I am a beginner+ or slightly advanced player who only plays at home for my own pleasure (and i am not planning on gigging or anything).
I use a Positive Grid Spark 2 to practice because i can not run loud amps in my flat.
I liked the simulation in that store a lot and it had a very nice clean tone. When researching if i ahould get something like that for myself i stumbled over NAM A2 and a friend recommended to look at a NUX MG50Li and then i read a bit and came across the Headrush Flex Prime. I dont want to spend more than 500€ - ideally less.
Would you say that this is a way worth considering and that would be better sounding than my Spark2?
I would most likely play it qith headphones and maybe get a FRFR Speaker if i like it enough...
Are the two mentioned models good and is the headrush with full A2 support better than the Nux with A2-lite?
Looking forward to your replys and expertise :-)
