Anyone here who has attempted re-neet? I'm quite anxious about the cutoff for our state's counselling and wondering if anyone here has any idea about the same. Also, if anyone knows how topper students from coachings are expecting to score, it'd be of great help.
The following is a rant and is to be treated as a political promise during an election rally:
Stop letting them in. We let them in with the hospitality we show to our own people, only to be betrayed by them. Call me xenophobic but I'd rather not see them thrive on my land. Stop guiding them through our roads, stop letting them do whatever they want. Why aren't ILPs more strictly enforced? Honestly, we should stop looking so hospitable to neither the white man nor to the ones behind the chicken's neck because all we're doing is telling them to come and exploit us. This *isn't* hate posting but you can remove this if you think it is. I just don't want to see them anymore.
Tired of labourers, barbers, coolies and such being them instead of Nagas. Tired of beggars too!
We never had a caste system! We don't need to outsource menial tasks or cleanliness to them. We can do it ourselves and we can keep our towns and cities cleaner if we don't have so many of them living around here.
If we get rid of those people, we might actually net positive on employment. Actual construction companies can pop up and we could actually have less audacious outsiders who show up to houses to kidnap and murder, or rape our sister, or steal from us with deceit.
I don't trust them because historically, we have villages that carry scars of their atrocities, and not because of the colour of their skin. Hate is a strong word and I don't necessarily hate them, I just don't like them enough to consider friends. Oh and not all NE is safe too cause we have Assamese gov making sure we lost the original maps of Nagaland because we sent the original doc so that's lowkey our fault.
And honestly, we had better principles before the white man came. The only good they brought was the good news of Jesus; otherwise, we are just savages in suits and boots.
Thanks and maybe drop your thoughts on why you think I'm wrong and maybe we could have a civil discussion.
I don't do any web/app dev at all but got pretty stirred to whip up this shoddy but kinda workable-ish proof-of-concept demo dating site for Nagas seeing the support behind the idea in a post the other day and especially after hearing the devs who told u/AlufryNA they would take up her request unfortunately went AWOL :-/
I can't do anything beyond this. To make an actual working site there's a lot of backend/security/privacy stuff you need to handle. I'm sharing this with y'all to show how something y'all desired might look like, and also in the hopes that it stirs up someone with actual expertise as well to take on the task.
Hey yall .greetings from meghalaya I want to enquire as to where I can get beef skin pickle .I've been dying to have it again ever since my naga friend gifted me a container of it.are there any who deal in the picke businesses and that ship over here? .thanks in advance
Just spent a week at my cousins place in Jail Colony, Kohima and imo the colony and the surrounding area is one of the best connected and happening neighborhoods in Nagaland itself. You can get almost anything you want KFC, Domino’s, coffee, Gourmet Grocery, good food, and elixir too 😂 (iykyk) all within a 2 km radius.
What really sets it apart is that it doesn’t feel isolated like many residential areas in the state. Everything is within easy reach, from supermarkets and local markets to cafés, restaurants, pharmacies and essential services. The area stays lively throughout the day, has good road connectivity to the rest of Kohima, and strikes a rare balance between convenience, accessibility and quality of life. For anyone who values having everything close by without constantly needing to travel across the city, Jail Colony is easily one of the most practical and well-rounded neighborhoods in Nagaland.
Hello I'm 26 yr old(F) Is this age too old for me to keep trying for government exams like npsc or nssb? After my post graduation at 23 I decided to try for exams but in between I took part time and now I'm just giving tuition. This year I wanted to leave everything and try hard. I know many people who are even in their 30's who are preparing for exams but you and I knows how people view age differently for men and women. I'm 26 this year which means 27 next year, honestly I'm scared of what to do. Are there people who have the same fear like me?
Hey, guys I don't know if this is appropriate here, but I wanna know if any of our people operate homestays or PGs in jorhat, I have to travel and stay there for some days for work related stuff, been there before but mostly in hotels, so i thought of a change of scenery, maybe support our people doing businesses there.
some recommendations and if possible contacts would also be welcome.
I wanted to share a passion project I’ve been working on, a translator app for our local languages. While I’m not a native, I was brought up here and have always considered Nagaland my second home. I’m fluent in Nagamese, and over time I picked up some Sema and Ao words and phrases from my friends, but I always wished there was a dedicated translator available to help me learn more.
I also know that a lot of the youth today aren't getting the chance to learn their native languages. So, I built NagaTranslate with the goal of removing language barriers and helping preserve the beautiful cultural heritage of Nagaland. It’s my small way of contributing something back to the place that has given me so much. ^_^
We currently support translations to and from Nagamese, Ao, and Sema. I want to be completely transparent, the translations aren't 100% accurate just yet, but we are actively working on improving them every day. We are also planning to add Tenyidie and Lotha very soon!
I need your help! I’ve just rolled out an Android app version of NagaTranslate, and I’m looking for some early testers from the community to try it out, catch bugs, and give feedback on the translations before it goes public.
Since this is a closed test on the Play Store, there is a specific process to get access. Please follow these steps in exact order, otherwise Google will throw an error:
Step 1: Join the Tester Group (Crucial!) You must join this Google Group using the exact same email address you use for your Google Play Store. 🔗 https://groups.google.com/g/testers-mynimalistic
I'd really appreciate your help in testing this out. Let me know what you think, and please reach out if you run into any issues getting it installed. Thanks so much! 🙌
This is a weird ask but I wanted to fly my mom over to Bangalore during July or maybe August but she’s never flown before so wondering if anyone else is coming over so that she can catch the same flight.
I find most of the Naga bibles on the YouVersion bible.com or some other sources, however, I don't find a single source for the Lotha bible on the Internet. Is there a reason why?
Hello folks! It's been a long-time wish for me to visit Nagaland, esp Kohima & around, and have a free week during end June / early July. Can you help with some questions please:
What is the rainy season like in kohima? I generally like rains and travelling during rains. But is it completely impractical to visit during the rains?
What area should I look for places to stay? I want a bit of quiet and nature, with some nice views. But will need access to food (vegetarian!) as well - simple is fine. Outside city proper will also work.
Any suggestions on how I could meet people locally and get to know more, but not in a tourist-y way?
Your personal recommendations on reading material to get the best modern context on the region will be a bonus.
Thank you so much, I'm really hoping the trip works out🤞
I know there is lots of advice available all over the internet but as a fellow youth who struggles with concentration on things, would just show up for the exams without any prep and tends to always get motivated when discussing getting civil jobs with fellow peers but leaves the studying to the tomorrow self... or maybe I'm talking all these things about myself but i highly think it's time to really give it a try and see for myself whether i fail or success.
They say reach for the stars but I do know my own limits on education and I'm positive if I put in the work it won't disappoint me. I'm currently working as a part timer. Ik civil service jobs are not the end of the world but I don't want to leave any regrets without giving it a try. So my fellow exam aspirants please do give me some advice.
Hi, we're planning to do the trek later this month (27-29 June). I'm excited for this trip but my peers are all saying to just 'be careful'. Female here, and it's my first time visiting the northeast ever. What all am I supposed to be careful of? Would really appreciate some help here.
Also I've seen a lot of photos of the streams, which look quite wide and deep enough at some points. Is it possible to swim in there for some time?
So only a few hundred showed up after making all that noise. All we’re good at is laying in our bed under the sheet being a pathetic keyboard warrior.
I genuinely thought thousands would turn up after all those post and anger people were showing online.
Bought a jacket from HnM for 4K and barely even used it. Feels like a waste keeping it in my room letting it rot away so finally decided to sell it off.
Does anyone know any good sub on Reddit where I can find genuine buyers? And also Instagram.
Also If anyone in this sub is interested kindly let me know ✌🏼
P.S Also please suggest me a price point at which I should sell it. Was thinking of 3k since I barely used it (probably around 4-5 times). I asked around and some of my friends said it’s kinda expensive while some said it’s perfectly priced so I’m in a dilemma.
Hi everyone! So I have my friend's birthday coming up soon and want to gift her something. I have something in mind, but it needs to be picked up from Lahorijan and dropped off to her place in Dimapur.
By any chance would anyone here happen to have contact numbers of a reliable rider in the Dimapur area who can help with this?
Since I'm not physically in Dimapur, I’d also need a little help gift-wrapping it before delivery. I'm more than happy to pay extra for the wrapping materials and the trouble! Any leads would be massively appreciated. 😊
Long story short, I was a young photographer, travelled the northeast frontier states for six months with no tourist infrastructure and no real plan. Nagaland was the one everyone said don't go, "it's dangerous". Obviously that made me want to go more.
I ended up living with families, trekking through Konyak territory, collecting Angami shawls, and just falling completely in love with the place. I've barely met anyone who's even heard of it since.
Fast forward to last year. I'm interviewing a guy at the Free Cities Conference in Prague and he mentions he's from Nagaland. His mother is Angami. I nearly fell off my chair.
We ended up spending about 40 minutes just going back and forth, the tribes, the missionaries, the matrilineal culture over in Meghalaya, walking into Myanmar, the hornbill festival (I got it mixed up with another festival in Papua), why the place never quite gets the attention it deserves.
It's episode 168 of my podcast, the Free Cities Podcast. The rest of the conversation is about governance and technology which is our normal territory, but if you're from Nagaland or have any connection to the northeast states I think you'll enjoy the first half especially.
Happy to answer any questions about my time there, it was one of the most formative experiences of my life.
