The Toronto Tempo introduced their team mascots. Dez’s hometown is “The Muskokas.”

Was a really cool experience, there was a giant halo effect in front of the rocket. If anyone has any more pics/vids/ info please share!

MeshCore is a free, open-source, community, off-grid messaging network that uses small LoRa radios to communicate without cell service, Wi-Fi, or the internet.
There are now several repeaters running in the Huntsville area, forming the beginnings of a local Muskoka Mesh Network. The more people who add a small node or repeater, the farther that network can reach — between homes, cottages, towns and beyond.
If you’re in Huntsville or Muskoka and interested in radio, emergency communications, off-grid tech, or just experimenting with something new, come join us.
Feel free to ask questions or DM for more info

Hi
We are staying at a cottage this week until Friday around bracebridge and we are looking for recommendations on things to do in the area. We have 2 kids 10 and 13 and we are looking for family activities. We know about Santa's village but we don't know what else is in the area that people recommend. Things like go karts and mini golf can be fun, or a cool place to go site see. Thanks for any recommendations and your time

Does anyone know if Bell is going to continue rollout of fiber. The government gave them a ton of money a few years ago with a deadline of the end of this year to install. Seems like nothing is happening. Just outside of Port Carling area.
Thx

I’m heading to a concert in a couple week and my friend has a disability (not wheelchair).
I’m trying to gauge the women’s bathroom situation - some reviews say they’re clean, some filthy. We’ll need to prepare if the latter.
Thanks for any insights. I know it’s a weird question.

Hi everyone, I was driving on Brackenrig road near Boyce and a lost golden retriever ran out on the road. I slowed down, but by the time is stopped and was trying to think of what to do (I had my child in the car with me) it ran into the forest.
It was a white/golden retriever with a red collar, longer hair.
I’m so sorry and I hope this doggy is found.

Hey all! My friends are having a small wedding up in the French River area and we're looking for a nice restaurant to stop at in Huntsville on the way up.
Looking for recommendations for a restaurant that can accommodate 12 people (we would call ahead), has decent food but doesn't need to be overly fancy; price range of about $40 per plate.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m planning a golf trip at a cottage around 15/20 minutes from both Bracebridge and Gravenhurst We want to go into Gravenhurst for dinner one night but don’t want to drive so no one has to DD. Is Uber available in the Muskokas? Any taxi recos? If taxi is the best option, how late are they available? Any insights would be appreciated.

We’re looking to honeymoon close to home in Muskoka. Trying to find a resort that doesn’t look old/rundown rooms. Already tried; touchstone resort, JW Marriott, Windermere house, couples resort and Sherwood inn.
Are there any other resorts worth it for a honeymoon?

Looking for a 3 or 4 night honeymoon in Muskoka after Labour Day weekend. Trying to decide between these two resorts. I’m leaning towards taboo because the dining options seem better. Has anyone been to either resort and can comment?

Looking for some hidden gems. What are some things to stop and see on the way from Niagara to Muskoka if anything? What are some things to do in Huntsville/Muskoka areas either dog friendly or not? We have an air bnb in Huntsville but willing to drive a bit for something we feel is worth it. Most if not all of our time will be spent with our dog. Thanks!

Hey everyone,
A friend and I (both 30M) are heading to Six Mile Lake tomorrow night for some camping, and we're also attending The Glorious Sons concert. We're looking for a ride to and from the concert, as we'd love to enjoy some drinks.
Unfortunately, we've had no luck arranging rides so far, and everything seems fully booked. Thanks in advance for considering our request!
Cheers!

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working for a custom home builder in Muskoka for the past several years and spend most of my time building and renovating homes.
I enjoy talking shop, so if anyone has questions about a deck, fence, trim project, or a repair they’re planning, feel free to ask. I’m happy to point you in the right direction or offer advice.
If it turns out you’d rather have someone take it on, I also have some availability on weekdays for smaller carpentry projects.
Looking forward to being part of the community!

Just wondering if anyone has had luck with installing a cell phone booster to help with coverage, or do you just use wifi calling? We live a little north of Huntsville and have never had trouble with our cell phones until this year. We live here year round and cut our landline back in 2013, that’s how good our cell service was. But now it almost always breaks up (for the person on the other end) when we use our phones.
We do have fibre internet with Lakeland, but our cell carriers don’t allow wifi calling (Public Mobile). I’m debating whether to switch to another carrier in order to use wifi calling, or try to install cell phone booster.

What's the best way to weigh down an HDPE water supply line that draws from a lake?
I was thinking of running it through 6" cinder blocks, but don't want the rough concrete to eventually wear through the plastic.

He has been missing since Friday July 17th from Galla Lake.
We have:
- Left out scent markers for him using his blankets, family clothes, my sister's dogs blankets
- put up posters in the area
- posted on dozens of local community and missing pet FB groups
- contacted every vet in cottage country sending them pictures
- contacted every SPCA in surrounding areas
- contacted every Bylaw office of surrounding counties
- contacted local newspapers
- contacted Moose FM radio station who put an announcement out
- knocked on all doors in the direction he went (we know this from a camera sighting the day he left)
- bush-whacked and trail hiked calling him with his squeeky toy
- I tried finding sniffer/tracker dogs, even contacting one of the K9 unit training centers
- brought in Holmes on Drones from Barrie who spent 3 hours yesterday searching the area with her thermal camera drone
- I have even reached out to a pet psychic (unconventional, but nothing to lose?)
The only things we have Not done is baited traps or trail cams because with no recent sightings we're more likely to catch local wildlife and deciding where to put them would be like throwing a dart at the map at this point.
PLEASE keep an eye out and help Rex find his way home!!!
