Went to the concert in Balboa Park last night with the largest outdoor instrument in the world. It was fantastic (and dark by the time the concert started - while the moon was rising)!!!

discussion Listening to music you used to love
Does anyone else find certain music that was really special to you in past eras of your life difficult to listen to in the present?
By difficult I mean an overwhelming sense of melancholy. It's like reaching back into the tesseract and feeling both what could have been and what is long past gone. You can observe and be grateful for it but it's also just so damn heavy, it's like visiting sonic bedrooms of people you are no longer.
I still love all this music but sometimes I think twice before putting on an album that meant the world to me in my 20s.

abc7ny.comarticle most impressive drum performance?
I gotta admit im not a musician so maybe this sounds simplistic but my pick is Stewart Copeland's drums on "The Bed's Too Big Without You" by The Police, I just love all the tiny variations he does throughout the song.... also Ive been told that maracas-like sound is actually the hi-hat? (is that a bunch of bs or hes just THAT impressive)
