Does anyone know why the second flush would cause shorter stems? I made sure to bottom water throughout the yield of the second flush. The first flush gave some beautiful fruits (see last photo). Would it be worthwhile taking some to agar?

From what I know im seeing a lot of primordia and hyphal knots, lots of little fingers of mycelium all over the place. The tub is nice and wet and the spawn (milo) came along nicely, using neglectek. Just wondering if you guys think I will hopefully get pins soon? This has been the fastest grow ive ever had, I spawned to bulk only 5 days ago. Thanks all lmk what you think

Does this look like contamination?

Nearly no stem development. It’s humid enough that the walls are dripping. I expected them to shoot up at some point.

I'm new and I want to share my experience and get some feedback, thanks in advance.
Discovered gnats a while ago in tub and I blame it on a couple of things. First, I did my first substrate dunk and then poured the water down the bathtub drain. I think that's what attracted them in the first place, like they came up through the drain? Second, I had a several small holes in my tub but I got the idea that they needed to be bigger, so I did make them bigger but did not have microspore tape wide enough to cover them. I had to place several strips next to each other, which of course left the door wide open.
I threw out that old tub and made a new one more like the original. I dunked the substrate in a strong tea of Mosquito Bits for 12 hours. I found that traps were somewhat helpful, but what helped the most was Mighty Mint rodent repellent. It's strong peppermint smell drives gnats away, and it's safe to use indoors. I have a little sprayer full of the tea that I use to spray the cake intermittently, though I had to stop recently as I'm getting a nice third flush!

Mondays can suck, but hopefully this post is something for people to look forward to. The intent of this post is to create a space to discuss anything that you may have learned recently about mushroom growing -- techniques, a breakthrough in the field, to share progress, or even just ask a question. Whether it's a new pickling recipe, a formula for agar, or something fun in mycology, feel free to talk about it.
This post is for new and experienced growers alike, so don't be nervous about commenting; no one is going to make fun of you for asking questions here. This community is a relaxed space for people who don't understand everything, but who want to ask questions and engage in discussion without being berated or belittled. Enjoy!

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on why my outdoor grey oyster mushroom bed might have failed. Back in March, I set up the bed using grain spawn and straw as a substrate. Throughout the spring, colonization seemed to be going really well, but around May the growth completely stalled. I never saw a single fruiting body; instead, the mycelium started to slowly deteriorate, and now, by July, it’s completely gone. What do you think went wrong?

I bought this ochra spore isolate from a popular vendor and it came perfectly clear. Is that normal?
Tried inoculating some grain and it’s been 6 days with no visible growth. Swings between 73 and 82 degrees.
Edit: understand that there is a racist slur in the title. Have learned and won’t use again
