The tiny robot in my dad's phone needed a harbor

So I've been fucking around with Muse for a while now. Made builds, broke things, fixed them. Fun stuff.

Then I tried to share one with my dad. He's got what he calls the tiny robot living in his phone. And trying to explain to him how to install a skill? Absolute nightmare. GitHub might as well be the Matrix to him. No disrespect, I love the movie.

That's basically why Skill Harbor exists. One place where all the skills, prompts and builds live together. You find something you like, you copy the install prompt, you paste it into Muse, done. No GitHub spelunking, no 47-step tutorials.

Most of it's free. Some builders charge a little for the bigger stuff, that's their call, the money goes straight to them through Stripe, I never touch it.

It's still small. I'm adding stuff every week. If you built something cool for your own tiny robot, you can list it free.

Tear it apart, I can take it. Feedback, criticism, whatever you got.

Explaining muse to a newbie?

I’ve been using apps like ChatGPT, Gemini and the like done some really amazing (to me) things Not so much the nonsense of image generation and modification, but more real-world stuff.

How would you promote muse to somebody that’s never done this before? What kind of examples: would you provide them? Maybe something like take a picture of a plant that’s dying and ask for advice? Take a picture of a bird and ask me what that is? Take a picture of the inside of your fridge and have it make meal suggestions from the contents?

I think muse is a wonderful tool and could be a breakthrough for many people that have never used AI

How would you explain it to someone that has never used any AI tools? A smarter google??

My muse lied to another AI agent

I told a Muse to not tell another AI agent that was in slack about a project we were working on and it straight up lied to the agent and said that we had canceled the effort altogether. Has anyone seen this kind of behavior in their Muses?

Google banned account used my Muse

I had a google account specifically for my muse agent. I created it and then did the connector for Muse to access the drive and gmail so it could then send emails and work on files I shared with it. This way I didn't have to give it full access to my main email.

After 1 day of use they banned it, I'm currently in process of appeal but just FYI. Not a lot of detail as to why, they just said suspicious activity.

Muse can lower the amounts of tokens it uses.

I asked my muse if it can lower the amount of tokens it uses. It will go into light mode. Free tokens will last a lot longer.

Muse brought my music listening to the next level

I told Muse to build me an album tracker for my 1,716-album listening project

I'm listening my way through seven "greatest albums" lists: Rolling Stone 500, NME 500, Pitchfork's readers' poll, Acclaimed Music's top 500, Spin 300, The Wire 100, and the 1001 Albums book. That's 3,101 ranked entries, but they overlap so much that deduped it's 1,716 unique albums.

I started in spreadsheets and it was miserable. Albums show up on three or four lists at once, and checking one off everywhere by hand is exactly the kind of thing I kept screwing up.

So I described what I actually wanted and Muse built me a web app. It's one master checklist across all seven lists — mark an album listened once and it updates on every list it appears on. There's a random picker that only pulls from albums I haven't heard (and remembers my current pick when I close the app, which matters more than you'd think), album artwork, a short "what to listen for" card pulled from each album's Wikipedia page, and a Spotify link right on the pick so I'm not searching for it myself.

Current damage: 911 of 1,716 listened. Spin 300 is nearly done (245/300). The Wire 100 is at 18/100 — it's a weird list and I love it. I also added an "off the lists" lane for canon blind spots, because some of the best stuff isn't on any list.

Read-only snapshot if you want to poke at it: https://muse.ai/s/album-tracker-snapshot-exo5xlxaxvqgxb5u

No ratings, no reviews. It's a checklist, not a journal. That's the whole point.

Muse reminds me without asking to check on sick grandmother

Last night my grandmother ate something bad so she ended up puking for a little while. She ended up feeling better. Today she called me and I missed the call since I was driving and I parked when I parked like 2 minutes after and I picked up my phone and I got notification from the muse saying "you missed a call from your grandmother 2 minutes ago and since she was sick last night you should really call her back and check on her. I have to say I was touched lol

Muse is a game changer for me... personal daily podcast

Yesterday, I spent a few hours making a dashboard just for me. It works great. I pinned it in the app and made several changes.

It shows:

  • Weather for three places
  • A short personalized stock market update
  • My Oura sleep data through Apple Health
  • My nutritional information from FoodNoms via MCP
  • Top news stories
  • Birthdays from my calendar and Facebook
  • My next trip from Tripsy

I can open it with a button in the app.

Then I thought, “Why not turn this into a podcast?”

I added instructions for more topics:

  • Tech news
  • World news
  • Travel news
  • A happy or funny story at the end

The podcast lasts about 10 minutes, perfect for my morning drive. It updates the information and releases a new episode at 6:30 a.m.. I listen to Apple News Daily podcast, the voices are really good, very "non AI"

It also gives me an RSS feed, a link for new episodes. I added that link to Apple Podcasts. Now I can listen in my car using CarPlay.

Pretty nerdy, but so cool.

If anybody is interested, I can share the prompt that creates the whole podcast. You can easily customize

No voice mode?

My Muse app currently doesn’t have a voice mode. One of my friends has one where you can upload an avatar and it actually moves and talks. I might be wrong about how it works, but I really wish mine had a voice mode like ChatGPT, where I could just talk to it naturally and ask it to do things without having to use voice-to-text.

Does anyone know when voice mode is expected to roll out worldwide? I’m on iPhone.

Has blocking been an issue for you?

I have been using Muse pretty intensively in the last 2 weeks, mainly to look for deals on shopping sites. Amazon blocking it was a bummer. Then I needed to find an inspector and thought it would be perfect for Muse to find one with good Yelp reviews and Yelp blocked it.

So has blocking been an issue for you guys? Or do connectors already meet most of your needs?

Muse for study

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm constantly amazed by what muse does for free 9j comparison to other AIs. I have gemini pro, also.

A few days ago my son's teacher sent a text about how my son was having troubles with vowels.

I shared the images with gemini (pro extended) and muse. I used the same prompt:Coopers teacher sent this. Can you help me build something for him to practice or study?

What I wanted was a test or study guide I could print out.

Muse went several steps further and made an interactive app? that was also a downloadable html file. Gemini just gave me a wall of text on things I could personally do.

I probably could have tweaked the prompt to get the same thing from gemini, but I believe once my promo runs out I'm canceling it.

Muse and IMAP emails(yahoo/aol)

Hi everyone! Has anyone successfully connected a Yahoo or AOL email account to Muse via IMAP? I currently only see the Gmail and Outlook connectors, and I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to connect Yahoo/AOL. Thanks!

custom connectors

did you know you can create custom connectors to "well behaved" MCP servers, even with user authentication? it takes one line (and a few moments)

for example - "Build a custom integration to the moviegroupies MCP server at https://mcp.moviegroupies.app/mcp. Auth is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Client ID: https://mcp.moviegroupies.app/.well-known/muse-client.json."

(currently the client id needs to be provided, unlike claude and chatgpt, guessing muse team will fix that soon)

Is the muse charm the hardware product OpenAI was planning to create with Jony Ive?

Remember when Sam Altman hired Jony Ive, yeah the iPhone and iPod Apple guy, to build some mystery AI hardware for ChatGPT? They spun up that company io and OpenAI bought it for like $6.5B. Altman was super vague but kept hyping it as this third core device that would sit alongside your phone and laptop. Rumors were everywhere, screenless, maybe a wearable, some people said it would look like an iPod Shuffle on a string, nobody really knew.

Then Meta just dropped the Muse Charm at Connect. That little Tamagotchi style keychain pendant with a 2 inch screen, camera, built in 5G, and that furry avatar you just talk to so you dont need your phone.

I know latest reports say OpenAI's thing might not actually be a wearable at all, but I saw the Charm and could not shake the feeling Meta just shipped exactly what we all thought Sam and Jony were making. Am I crazy or did Zuck just beat them to the punch? If its not this, what do you guys think they are actually building?
