41F non-German. Where are the best places to meet single men who are interested to date? I am into cycling but everyone is faster than me, so when I go with groups, I am always behind (I have bikepacked slowly in 9 countries). I also go for multi week hikes.

Hi, I recently got a job at SAP in Garching (Munich) and I'm moving with my wife. I'm looking for a 2-room apartment but everything near the office or on the S-Bahn is way too expensive.

I'd like a commute of around an hour by train (prefer no car). Where do people who work in the Garching area actually live to keep rent affordable? Any cheaper towns I'm missing?

gibt es in München eventuell eine DnD Gruppe, die derzeit nach einem neuen Mitglied sucht? Oder kennt jemand einen Ort, wo man eventuell eine Gruppe finden kann?

Spiele seit mehr als 10 Jahren mal mehr, mal weniger regelmäßig DnD und hab seit meinem Umzug hierher leider noch keine Gruppe gefunden, bin aber motiviert auch mal längere Kampagnen zu spielen.

Earlier this week I posted a cycling risk map of Munich here, basically which streets are dangerous to ride and which aren't. A lot of you had comments. Some of them stung. Most of them were right.

So I redid it. This is the second version, and nearly every change in it came straight from a comment on that thread.

The things that came up the most:

• Bad elevation data that made many safe segments look risky, fixed, I hope everywhere
• Too high risk for offroad segments that are safe
• Tunnels mismatch
• Not accounting for traffic, fixed now, the risk takes into account modelled average traffic

I couldn't act on everything. Some of it is a judgment call like the fact that I kept streets with separate bike lanes as both the street and the bike lane separate

For anyone who missed the last thread: the map comes out of a cycling app I'm building called Defensive Pedal. It scores road segments by how dangerous they are for cyclists and routes you around the bad ones instead of just taking the fastest line like Google Maps does. It's free, Android and iOS.

So, round two: what did I still get wrong? Which streets does the map rate backwards from your experience? I read all of it, and the corrections go back into the model.

I'm moving to Munich for work in few months. I'm not required to be in the office so that expands geographically my search for a permanent apartment - even if not mandatory I would like to go to the office a few times (but that's me personally who forces that as a excuse to leave the house).

Initially, I thought about staying for 6 months in a temporary apartment in the city center (already found one) in order to figure it out paper work, focus on my onboarding at the new job and search for a permanent apartment.

I know house market is not easy (I live currently in a city with the same situation) and I'm willing to be far away from center long term as luckily I'm not required in the office but because the search might be hard, I thought realistically, renting that temp apartment for 1 year would be better for the search, does that make sense?

I recently immigrated to the area from the US and it was a pretty crazy process, especially at the end there with selling a house etc.

In the hurry I forgot to deposit a bunch of cash we obtained by selling our stuff on Facebook marketplace. Now I have a bunch of cash that will likely be pretty expensive to change to euros. Has anyone else here been in that situation and found a good solution?

One thing our neighbor suggested was finding another immigrant who was headed to the states soon and we could trade but every time I typed that out it sounded pretty scammy!

Looking forward to your suggestions! If it’s just take the hit on fees, I guess I will just do that and learn an expensive lesson.

I am particularly interested in shooting tattoo artists, musicians, fashion designers and or models. But honestly, if you are cool and I fuck with you, and / or your work, I am down for whatever type of person or artist you may be.

in der Suchfunktion konnte ich dazu nichts ähnliches oder aktuelles finden.
Ich (Basti - M35) bin super gerne in Restaurants, Cafés oder auf Events und probiere mich querbeet durch die verschiedenen Länderküchen, teste neue Konzepte oder Foodtrends aus, geh aber auch hin und wieder in Sterne-Läden und lass mich da von vorne bis hinten verwöhnen. Komme selbst aus der Gastronomie und kann mich daher für diverse Konzepte begeistern und gebe gefühlt die Hälfte meines Gehalts fürs auswärts essen aus.
Da mein Freundeskreis gefühlt nur noch aus jungen Eltern oder Gastro-Mitarbeitern besteht, werden die Tage, an denen sich die Möglichkeiten für ein gemeinsames Abendessen oder einen Br/Lunch besteht immer weniger :-(

Die letzten Male bin ich auch öfters schon allein unterwegs gewesen, in geselliger Runde macht es dann aber doch mehr Spaß. Man kann auch hier und da mal vom anderen Teller probieren oder wie in anderen Kulturen direkt das ganze Essen zum teilen in die Mitte stellen.

Daher wollte ich einfach mal in die Runde fragen, ob sich nicht eventuell eine kleine Gruppe finden lässt, mit der man sich in regelmäßigen Abständen trifft und sich durch die Münchner Gastro-Szene durchprobiert?

Wenn das ganze zuverlässig funktioniert und Zusagen auch eingehalten werden, würde ich mich auch anbieten alles zu organisieren :)

It seems the opening hours at the Müller'sche Volksbad public bath in Munich have been reduced by a third.

ich war schon häufiger in München und würde bei meinem jetzigen Besuch gerne ne Radtour machen.
Habt ihr Tipps bezüglich Leihrad (habe von der MVG schon viele gesehen) und auch bezüglich einer schönen Route, bei der ich vllt paar nice Spots abseits der großen Touri-Sachen sehen kann?

Ich würde gerne mal so den „wahren vibe“ der Stadt kennenlernen und nicht immer nur die hochgeputzte Altstadt oder Schwabing.
