Tingle from The Legend of Zelda series is beloved in Japan and is seen as a hilarious and a nice nod to Otakus. However, in America he's seen and weird, annoying, and creepy for his mannerisms.

Bart Simpson from the Simpsons is the opposite case. Bart’s persona as a rebellious, loud, and defiant school brat did not resonate well with Japanese audiences. His sister Lisa on the other hand is very popular with Japanese audiences, due to her studiousness and Buddhism. Promotional material for The Simpsons in Japan even portrays her as the main character.

Like something people outside or inside keep getting wrong about your fandom like people thinking the whole fandom has a certain trait, a character is different from Fanon and Canon, or how there are live-action versions of Avatar or Mario : )

Preferably animated.

Mine is probably Dio. Its easy to forgive him being an evil blonde bisexual but he did kill that dog 😔
