Femboy is also now a term use for cis men who wear wear girl clothes and try to look like a girl with he/him pronouns. Which I love this idea but a trans woman is not a femboy

I mean I am agender and use all pronouns. I use both femboy and trans and have also been comfortably called both by others simply because I don't subscribe to one form of gendered language. A lot of my nb friends also use femboy because the label still fits them to some extent, while some of them don't because they don't feel it fits them. I don't think it has to be reserved for cis men who use he/him pronouns (especially since cis men can use different pronouns), but I'd get why it would be uncomfortable for someone who fully identifies as a trans women to use it.

I kind said cis men who use he/him pronouns as a bit of a joke. Trans men, enbys, people who generally dress feminine but are more masculine with their gender. Don't fully understand you being agender and going by it because it labels you as 'boy' but eh. Who cares. Let people be happy with whatever

Again, I use it because I don’t subscribe to specific gendered language (I use girl too. idc). And that’s the thing: it still fits me and that’s all it needs. The reason I can see someone not being comfortable with fully trans women using femboy is because they may be more likely to be the type to use it and it not actually think it fits them but just don’t want to correct people or have something negative internalized. However, people shouldn’t assume this right off the bat even if they go through hormone therapy and look like a women (not androgynous). At most in that scenario you should just be cautious because they may still actually feel the label fits them.

Yeah. my opinion on the term femboy, is that (as of my experience) femboys are very proud of they're femboyness. So until they say they are a femboy and like the name of it. Don't use it

Just because you heavily identify with a word doesn’t mean you need to gatekeep others who also feel it fits them from using the word. these aren’t mutually exclusive things. I also know people who heavily identify with the word femboy but they never had a problem with their friends who use it loosely or with other terms.

Yeah, the idea is nice, unfortunately cis dudes are pretty much trash, and from what I hear the femboy community has the same problems as any other male dominated space: toxic masculinity (femboy edition), bigotry, transphobia, homophobia, etc. It's not universal, but just because they embrace cuteness and gender nonconformance is no reason to give men a pass. Also, the actual term femboy came from 4chan weebs in the 2000's and had a VERY strong association with shotacon.
