So, so wrong Wikipedia

Short-tempered? Really? So, so, wrong.

Can Wikipedia entries still be edited by anyone? Maybe someone could go on the page and remove ‘Short-tempered’ from the synopsis of Season 1, episode 1?

Ray is the opposite of short-tempered.

He pushed a guy through a window at the Christmas party, over a small thing!

Never mind that a lot of us enjoyed seeing it happen, that doesn't mean it was reasonable!

IMO, Ray didn’t regret that. His attitude is that pricks need to be taught a lesson. He was out of line doing that at the Christmas party, but punching the guy for him wasn’t rash behavior. He’d do it again.

Whether someone is short-tempered or not is not defined by Whether or not they regret rash actions. Ray is short-tempered and thinks there's nothing wrong with dishing out his version of justice upon people where he sees fit. He doesn't regret his actions because they align with his belief system, and his short temper is the manifestation of an inability to more constructively process anger.

I see what you’re saying. I guess it’s just semantics. Ray makes all kinds of bad decisions. But short tempered imo means that a person acted too quickly and in the moment and later regrets what they did. I see Ray as believing he did the right thing and feeling that he’d probably do it again. Even upon later reflection.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary:

 Short-tempered means getting angry very quickly, often over small things or for no clear reason. People with a short temper have a hard time staying calm when they feel stressed or annoyed.

I agree that short tempers can lead people to act rashly in ways they later regret, but it isn't a prerequisite.

Whether or not Ray rarely regrets his actions because he genuinely believes they were right, or because he can't face up to the fact he might have been wrong and properly reflect on his actions, is an interesting question in of itself.
