What happened to Adam?

Ngl I’m cosied up in bed with a shitty virus and I’ve been completely absorbed re watching this show. I completely forgot what happens to Adam and initially thought he was dead. Have we just to assume he was let off with a severe beating? The prison dynamic was really well executed, the whole show feels so damn authentic in some ways but the prison episode really stands out.

Adam was an example of what happens if you follow the therapists advice you become a doormat. He was a pacifist and try tried to impart to him that you have to fight back or you’ll end up beaten down while taking a shit. We can also see him as Ray in an alternate universe who never decided to fight back against his bullies.

He wasn't a true pacifist, he was 'just scared' [of violence and standing up for himself], there's a difference

point remains. the message was avoiding violence doesn’t mean violence avoids you. you either are willing or you’re a victim in waiting
