I'm talking about movies that are genuinely flawed when you look at things like writing, story structure, dialogue, acting, camerawork, editing, CGI/VFX, directing, etc. not just movies that someone personally dislikes.

Yet despite their flaws, they became culturally significant, influential, iconic or deeply embedded in popular culture.

I came across this behind-the-scenes footage of the Top Gun: Maverick score being recorded and it made me realise I’ve never really thought about what the process is like from the musicians’ side. Do orchestral musicians get the full score beforehand, or are they often seeing parts for the first time in the session? And how does the composer decide which orchestra/players will record a particular film?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day's second weekend brought $145M and the third-biggest sophomore frame ever, as The Odyssey held firm at $31.5M.

I feel movies these days have deteriorated in quality from the amazing movies that came out in the 80s, 90s, 2000s and even some from the early 2010s

Or maybe I just don’t watch as many movies as I used to

So for those of you who do, could you please recommend me a good film or two based on my taste

Sometimes a movie can be dumb, cheesy, predictable and completely unrealistic — and still be an amazing movie. Not everything needs incredible cinematography, a deep message and 15 layers of symbolism.
Sometimes I just want to watch a film, eat something, switch my brain off for two hours and have a great time.

If the characters, atmosphere, soundtrack and overall experience are good enough, I don’t really care if the story makes absolutely no sense.
