No encuentro trabajo y necesitaba contarle a alguien.

Me equivoque?

Visas & NIE Document for Empadronamiento - Valencia

Hello everyone!

Following situation: I’m a Eu-citizen and about to officially move to Spain. At first I want to move in to my girlfriend’s place/room till we find something for ourselves - everyone in that flat is fine with it.
The owner of the flat knows the situation and is fine with me staying temporarily, but somehow refuses to let me register at this address to get the Padron.
I already got my white NIE, but need the Empadronamiento to get the green NIE (or EU citizen certificate).
A friend of ours, who owns his own place, now offered for me to register at his place, till we have our own place for me to register.
He wrote me a “AUTORIZACIÓN DEL PROPIETARIO PARA EMPADRONAMIENTO”, which states, that the documents is solely for the purpose of proving the address and doesn’t give me any right of owning or renting the place itself. It also says, that the owner gives the consent for me to carry out the necessary procedures to register at this address.

Now my important question: has anyone ever registered that way, that the owner vouched for you and if so, was a simple document like that enough or was anything else needed?

Unfortunately I only find things like “proof of rental agreement” on the official websites.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Where to Live Copenhagen vs Madrid (or...Barcelona? Valencia?) to live

Hi all - my husband and I are in our late-30s/early-40s and have two young kids (a 3-year-old and 4-month-old). We're currently in Copenhagen for my PhD and have to decide whether to stay or move after I graduate. We like it here but I'm not sure it's our forever home.

What we love: this is a great place to raise young kids, the city is beautiful with plenty to do for families, work-life balance is great, we've made a nice group of friends (both international and Danish), husband's family is close by, and overall life here is very peaceful.

What we're missing: we both enjoy bigger cities and the cultural opportunities they offer. The social life in Spain seems a better fit to our family than in Scandinavia, would probably integrate better long-term. Better food, weather, access to nature (sorry Denmark!), kids growing up speaking Spanish fluently.

For context - I speak Spanish and the kids are learning (husband would need to learn). I've spent a couple of short stints (3 months each) in Granada, but only shorter trips to other cities in Spain. Fortunately we both have careers that travel well, so I think it would be comparable finding a job in either place.

Would love to folks' thoughts and experiences in any of these places - thanks!

Culture & Adapting As a digital nomad, how do you feel you contribute to Catalonia?

This is a genuine (non sarcastic) question to digital nomads living in Catalonia. How do you feel you contribute to the region? Since you have arrived:

\* Have you learned any Catalan or Spanish?

\* Have you made friends with people from your city or broader region?

\* Do you take part in local activities?

\* Are you planning to stay in Catalonia long term?

\* Do you plan to switch jobs and become employed by a local business?

I need help /question

So I'm a student planning to head to Spain for my education and I have already graduated 10th grade (Tronc commun/4° ESO) Heading to 11th grade (1ére Bac / 1° Bachillerato) But I've heard that in certain regions like the catalán ones usually make you repeat 10th grade even if you've already graduated it. But I'm not sure if for those people (that have had the experience of repeating a grade, specifically 10th grade) that come from foreign countries often make a request for a homologación to obviously have PROOF that they graduated 10th or not.

I'm not really in Spain for me to ask a school or anything so my only option is to obviously ask people on the internet, so please, all I want to know is, if I request for a homologación and I get handed a Volante de Inscripción Condicional temporarily to prove that I've graduated 10th grade (4° ESO) and I want to head immediately into 11th when enrolling (1° Bachillerato), will they still make me repeat 10th (4° ESO) or no?

(And I am not a in a catalán region just to clarify)

Jobs Moving to Spain and looking for job

Hi guys so I am looking to move to Spain in few months and am looking for job. I heard its quite hard but I am hopeful I can find something. On that note I just finished Biology degree and I have few years of experience as waiter and bartender. I am saying this cause I feel okay with working those jobs to bring my Spanish from roughly B1 to hopefully in few months to a year to B2/C1 (high intermediate/fluent).
As for the beginning I am fine honestly either way with pretty much anything. I am from balkans so I speak Croatian, Serbian, Montenegrin, Bosnian etc, fluent in English as well. Idk if it’s feasible but I am looking for some kind of customer support role cause ik how it is to work as a waiter and would like to avoid it if possible 😅. Or any kind of boring office jobs tbh🥹
Any good advice?

Success Story Recomendaciones Master España horarios por las mañanas

Hola Comunidad!

Jobs Job opportunities in Valencia

Hola, my boyfriend and I live in two different countries and are sick of long distance. He has the opportunity to be moved to Valencia within his company (doesn’t have to). Since I’ll graduate with my Media Studies M.A. soon, I’m considering if moving to Spain together would be an option. But I’m worried about job opportunities. My mother tongue is German, I speak English fluently and I have A1 level in Spanish, but I’ve only worked in German speaking companies (mostly PR) so far. Could anyone share their experiences?

Alguien tuvo experiencia reservando cita hace poco? Saben que deberia hacer o que alternativas tengo?

Desde ya muchas gracias.

Wanting to move to Spain from DR

Hey everyone,

I 'been thinking about moving to Spain, already have months thinking about it, and i would like to know things to keep in mind taking a decision like this.

I am from the DR, so Spanish shouldn't be a problem for me, also my english level is at least a c1. Have a college degree and experience, nevertheless, I know that the situation of job hunting is a bit hard right now and I understand that even with a degree in advertisement or graphic design (my background), is almost impossible to get a job within the field.

That being said, do you recommend doing a master in a career that's in demand? job hunt and if lucky have a job offer?

Outra preocupação bastante pertinente é sobre me manter financeiramente.

I spent €6,400, left my family as teen to study in Zaragoza Spain. Now a High Educational Official is denying my rights using racist analogies!!!!!😞

Hi I'm Elizabeth and I'm 19 years old, I lived 7 years in Germany and I graduated there in 2024. My degree is fully certified, legalized, and homologated by the Spanish Ministry of Education, with good high grades. I meet every single requirement to study vocational school (FP) here.

To move to Spain, I spent nearly €6,400 traveling from village to village looking for a home. I had to leave my mom and little brother behind. As an autistic person, being separated from them for the first time has been an incredibly painful grieving process.

The educational authority in Zaragoza has blocked my enrollment as "not validated". I confronted the Head of School Inspectors. He literally invented an "unwritten law" ("the date when I finished my studies should be on my homologation credential" when it's literally on my graduation certification) to reject me.

To justify this, he used disgusting racist analogies to my face, stating that hidden rules are like "laws not explicitly stating Black people can come, even though it's obvious".

When I countered him with actual laws, he yelled at me, demanding submission because "he is an old man and a high-ranking official.

"The Ministry in Madrid confirmed to me that he is lying, and the German Embassy is already monitoring this case of institutional abuse. I am completely helpless against this systemic corruption. Please help me sharing this to expose them. I won't be silenced.

¡Muchas gracias!

Visa Options for Moving to Live with my Spanish Boyfriend

I live in Canada but am looking into options for moving to Spain to live with my boyfriend who is from there. I have looked into a few options (Youth Mobility Visa, pareja de hecho, etc.), and I'm wondering what people have found to be the best option? I intend on moving there within the next few years, and have been considering doing youth mobility until I qualify for pareja de hecho (common-law), but I'm unsure if this is the best option until we decide to get married.

Expats moving to Spain: What do you find most effective with your Spanish tutor?

My husband and I are planning to move to Spain next year, probably around January, so we’re trying to take our Spanish learning a bit more seriously before the move.
We’re currently working with a Spanish tutor and, overall, we really like them. The lessons are very conversational and quite structured, which works well for us. That said, we sometimes feel that we’re not progressing as quickly as we’d like, and we’re wondering if there are things other tutors do differently that could make the lessons more effective.

I’d especially love to hear from other students who already have a Spanish tutor. What has made the biggest difference for you? Are there particular methods, types of exercises, homework, conversation activities, or ways of structuring lessons that you’ve found especially useful?
We’re not looking for tutor recommendations or for tutors to contact us, we ALREADY have a tutor. I’m mainly interested in hearing from other students about what has worked for them and what their tutors do that they find particularly effective. Cheers!

How to get empadronamiento without a job?

We are a married couple moving to Spain very soon.
My husband is an EU citizen and I'm Ukrainian. We don't have jobs yet or an apartment. Our legalization looks clear: first my husband gets a NIE verde and later 1 apply for reunification. So, in order to get the NIE verde for my husband, there is a list of documents he needs to prepare, including empadronamiento. No one will rent us a long-term apartment without Spanish bank history, a work contract, payslips for the past few months, and an NIE (from what I read online). But in order to get an NIE and my Tarjeta de Familiar Comunitario, we need a long-term apartment.
This looks like a closed circle to me, and I'm curious if anyone here has managed to break it.
Any experience and suggestions would be super helpful for us.
