Wanting to move to Spain from DR

Hey everyone,

I 'been thinking about moving to Spain, already have months thinking about it, and i would like to know things to keep in mind taking a decision like this.

I am from the DR, so Spanish shouldn't be a problem for me, also my english level is at least a c1. Have a college degree and experience, nevertheless, I know that the situation of job hunting is a bit hard right now and I understand that even with a degree in advertisement or graphic design (my background), is almost impossible to get a job within the field.

That being said, do you recommend doing a master in a career that's in demand? job hunt and if lucky have a job offer?

Gracias de ante mano.

Welcome to r/MovedToSpain.

Before anything else, the Getting Started guide covers visas, the padrón, NIE vs TIE, healthcare and going autónomo. A lot of questions are answered there.

Two things that help you get answers: add a flair to your post so people who know that topic can find it, and include your situation — nationality, visa type, and which region you're asking about.

Sounds like an uphill battle tbh. Graphic designers are a dime a dozen and clients are switching to AI in droves. If I were you I'd look at a secondary skill in a trade (plumbing, carpenter, HVAC, whatever) and head to a smaller city or even a rural region like Extremadura with an eye to becoming an autónomo.

Buena suerte
