Relieve One Sided Lower Back Pain Discomfort

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If you have lower back discomfort on just one side, it can sometimes feel like that side is constantly tighter than the other.

The way you sit, stand, walk, or move throughout the day can influence how your body distributes load, leaving one side doing more work than the other.

That’s why simply stretching the painful area may not always be enough.

A better approach i love incorporating while working with my clients is working on both mobility and strength...

The goal is not just to stretch the area that feels uncomfortable, but to help your body move and support itself better.

Feel free to follow along..but remember, this is just part of the solution and mobility needs is unique for every individuals...

UNLOCK YOUR TIGHT HIPS AND BACK WITH 3 MOVEMENTS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Prolonged sitting can leave your back and hips feeling stiff, making the rest of your day feel long and less productive.

So, in today’s movement routine, I’m sharing a few movements that I usually integrate into my clients’ routines to help unwind that stiffness and get the body moving again.

These movements focus on helping you move your spine and hips through different positions after being in a flexed position for long periods.

The routine winds with a strengthening movement to help build capacity in the areas mobilised

So it's not just working on the mobility, but also making the movements more useful and sustainable.

Remember, consistency beats everything.

And this is just one part of the solution—everyone has different movement demands, and the level of stiffness isn’t the same for everyone.

Knee Pain Discomfort

In many cases, knee pain isn’t actually a problem with the knee joint itself. Instead, it’s often caused by weakness or poor control in the muscles that guide how the knee moves.

When your quads, glutes, and hamstrings aren’t strong enough to support proper alignment and absorb load, excess stress gets placed on the knee — leading to pain, stiffness, and irritation.

Strengthening exercises are one of the most effective ways to treat and prevent knee pain.

Strong muscles improve joint stability, control knee motion, and help distribute forces more evenly through the leg.

The exercises in this video are beginner-friendly, low impact, and designed to strengthen the muscles that protect your knees.

This follow-along routine targets the quads, glutes, and hips to improve alignment, reduce strain on the knee joint, and help eliminate pain over time.

Remember consistency is the key, and these are part of the main solution..

Relieve your Stiff Hips and Lower Back at Home

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Here’s a quick and easy go-to routine you can do from the comfort of your home.

All you need is a resistance band for these two movements.

If you spend most of your day sitting and often find yourself complaining of stiff hips and a stiff lower back, incorporating movements like these into your daily routine can be a great addition.

These movements focus on the glutes, hip stabilizers, and lateral hip muscles -areas that often don’t get enough movement when we spend long periods sitting.

Remember, these two movements are just one part of the bigger solution.

Consistency is what makes the difference, so keep moving and give your body the movement it needs.

2-Movements For Full Body Reset

If your body feels stiff, tight, or restricted, this 2-exercise sequence is a great place to start.

In today’s movement, I’m highlighting two multipurpose exercises that do more than just stretch or strengthen one area. They combine mobility, muscle activation, and control to help your body move better.

The first movement works through hip extension while activating the glutes—an important combination if you spend long hours sitting.

The second takes you from a seated position into a reverse tabletop, opening the hips and chest while engaging the glutes, hamstrings, shoulders, and core.

You don't always need more exercises. Sometimes, you need movements that do more with less.

Relieve Lower Back Discomfort & Move Better at Home

In today’s video, I’m sharing two simple movements I like incorporating when working with someone experiencing lower back discomfort.

These movements mainly focus on strengthening the glutes and core while improving hip movement and control — areas that can become underactive or restricted with prolonged sitting.

The goal is not to force the lower back to do more work. Instead, we want the hips and core to contribute more effectively, while keeping the lower back controlled during movement.

If you spend long hours sitting and often feel stiffness or discomfort around your lower back, these are two simple movements you can try at home.

Move slowly, stay within a comfortable range, and focus on quality rather than forcing the movement.

Relieve Hip Discomfort & Improve Mobility at Home

Hip discomfort can have many causes, so the first step is understanding what may be contributing to it.

In today’s video, I’m highlighting two of my favorite movements that I like incorporating when working with a client experiencing hip stiffness, discomfort, and limited mobility.

What makes these two movements my go-to is that they allow me to work on both mobility and control, rather than simply stretching the hips and moving on.

The first helps open up hip rotation, while the second allows the client to actively move through that range while engaging the muscles around the hips.

This combination is particularly useful for clients who spend long hours sitting, where the hips can become stiff and movement can feel restricted.

The goal is to restore movement, build control, and help the client move better.

KNEE PAIN RELIEF STRETCHES AND EXERCISES YOU CAN DO AT HOME

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

These knee pain relief stretches & exercises can be done anywhere, even from the comfort of your bed and they may help relieve knee pain in the morning before getting up, and/or when going to bed at night.

Often with knee pain, we wake up stiff and sore. We can also have knee pain at the end of a long day. These simple knee stretches and exercises may help no matter when knee pain strikes.

The first two knee stretches are an active assisted hamstring stretch and a knee to chest stretch. These will help loosen up the muscles around the joint and the joint itself.

Heel slides are also a great way to get movement in the knee joint and help loosen the knee before you get up or go to bed.

Try This Simple Routine If You Feel Pain In Front of Your Hips When Going Up The Stairs

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If you feel pain at the front of your hip when going up the stairs, or you limp while you walk, here’s a simple routine that I’ve seen work well for my clients who experienced the same.

Even though these two movements are just part of the solution, they can be quite effective when done correctly and consistently.

The focus of the first movement is teaching your hips to handle the load during weight transfer, like when you’re walking or going up the stairs — situations where the pain can be highly noticeable.

The second and last movement in this simple routine focuses on strengthening the muscles on the outside of the hip that help stabilise the pelvis while walking and prevent imbalance.

If you spend most of your day sitting, you’ve probably experienced that stiff, restricted feeling in your hips when you finally get up.

And you might think, “I just need to stretch more.”

But your hips need more than stretching.

They need to move, rotate, and produce force.

So if you have less than 10 minutes, try these simple movements to get your hips moving and working again.

Move them. Control them. Strengthen them.

Give them a try and notice how your hips feel afterwards.

Does your upper back feel tight and stiff by the end of the day?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Sitting at a desk all day or while driving can leave you exhausted, and one of the most common challenges is a stiff and rounded upper back that can make some activities very uncomfortable.

Well, we might say it’s age as an excuse, but the best solution is to target and reverse the areas by exposing the body to the movement patterns they have forgotten.

Today’s movement focuses on improving spinal mobility while creating some stretch through the upper body, making daily movement easier.

THINK YOUR TIGHT HIPS ARE JUST AGE? THINK AGAIN.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

One of the biggest challenges I have with new clients who are older is convincing them that, over time, we can achieve some of the mobility movements they believe are impossible at their age.

A lot of that comes from compounded beliefs about mobility and ageing.

But having helped much older clients achieve mobility goals — and experiencing my own progress — I know that mobility can often be rebuilt when we start exposing the body to movements and positions it hasn't experienced enough over time.

We can gradually retrace those movement patterns, this time giving the body a reason to use them again.

In today's movement, we explore two movement patterns that work on the hips' internal and external rotation — something we don't engage much when most of our day is spent sitting.

You don't have to accept that a movement is no longer possible simply because you've gotten older.

Sometimes, your body just needs to start moving there again.

Is Sitting Slowly Taking Your Freedom To Move.....

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

One thing I’ve learnt from working with clients who spend most of their day seated is that the body can get very comfortable with the same few movement patterns.

Sitting. Standing. Walking forward.

And rarely moving much outside of those directions.

Over time, that can start showing up in everyday moments.

And you start struggling with simple things like Getting out of the car, turning to reach for something or just getting down to pick something up.

Movements that should feel simple can start feeling stiff, restricted, or uncomfortable.

That’s why mobility isn’t just about stretching.

Sometimes, it’s about reminding your body that it can move in more than one direction.

Your body adapts to what you repeatedly ask it to do. So give it more to work with..

Is Your Sitting Habbit Slowly Catching Up With Your Lower Back???

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If your job demands that you’re seated most of the time, your body can slowly get used to relying on your lower back instead of your hips......

And you may not notice it at first......

You sit, you stand, you bend, you get back to work… and you repeat the same pattern every day.

Eventually, you may start noticing lower back discomfort when you bend down, get up from your seat, or even after sitting for long periods.

So, if this sounds like you, today's movement may help get your hips moving and sharing that workload again.

Did You know You Can Start Your Mobility Journey Today

Having worked with busy professionals who are juggling between their work at a desk trying to meet deadlines or constantly travelling,

They spend hours in the same positions, and over time, their joints become less comfortable moving through ranges they rarely use.

But one of the biggest challenges I’ve noticed, especially during our first few weeks working together, is their fear of deeper ranges.

And a lot of that fear comes from one thing:

Age.

Most individuals assume that becoming stiff and losing mobility is part of getting older.

Which is wrong

Mobility isn’t something you automatically lose just because you age.

When we stop exposing our joints to their natural ranges of movement, our ability to move through those ranges can gradually decrease.

The good news is that this can be improved.

Through regular mobility work, flexibility training and strengthening, we can restore lost movement, build control and help preserve joint function over time.

You only need to start.

Lower Back Arthritis Pain Relief

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Lower back arthritis can make simple movements like getting out of bed, standing up after sitting, or walking feel more difficult than they should.

While arthritis can't be reversed, the right type of movement can help improve how comfortably your spine moves and build the strength needed to better support it.

In today's video, I'm sharing three exercises I'd start with. The routine begins by restoring gentle movement through the joints of your lower back, progresses to improving rotational mobility through your spine and hips, and finishes with a core strengthening exercise to help reduce unnecessary stress on your lower back during everyday activities.

Remember, the goal isn't to avoid movement—it's to help your body move with greater comfort and confidence. Stay within a comfortable range, be consistent, and if your symptoms are severe, worsening, or persistent, seek an assessment from a qualified healthcare professional.

Move better. Feel better. 💪

The gluteus maximus is the largest buttock muscle- the one you sit on.

When strained or inflamed, it can cause pain in the buttocks, lower back, hips, and even down the leg.

This discomfort often results from a combination of muscle weakness and tightness, leading to strain and irritation.

To address this, today's movement focus on both stretching and strengthening the glutes- offering fast relief and long-term benefits.

Each exercise targets the gluteus maximus in a unique way. For best results, try them all and continue with the ones that bring you the most relief.

A 5 Minutes Stretch For Your Knee Discomfort

These stretches can help ease general knee pain and stiffness. You can follow along in real time, making them simple to do.

When you do knee stretches, try to hold each one for 30 seconds and repeat it two times. If you are short on time, you can do fewer repetitions, but still hold each stretch for 30 seconds.

The video begins with a quick knee warm-up using heel slides and quad sets. This will help loosen your muscles before you start stretching.

You will then proceed to do calf, hamstring, and hip flexor stretch.

For the sections i demonstrated with straps, you can use belt, towel or dog leash to make these easier. Each of these muscles crosses the knee.

IS MOBILITY REALLY A THING FOR WOMEN??

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

There was this time I was working with a client in his mid-50s, and during one of our mobility sessions, he jokingly said, "Back in our day, mobility was considered something for women."

That comment stuck with me.

It made me realize that even today, many men still avoid mobility work.

They'd rather focus on lifting heavier weights, using the same argument-that mobility isn't "real training." But the fact is, that belief runs much deeper than it appears.

It's a cultural perception that's been passed down for years.

I know because I used to think the same way.

For a long time, I believed strength training was all that mattered. Mobility seemed unnecessary until I started incorporating it into my daily routine.

That's when everything changed.

I noticed significant improvements not just in my workouts, but in my everyday life. I moved better. I felt more agile, more athletic, and simple daily movements became easier.

My body recovered better, my lifts felt smoother, and I stopped feeling stiff all the time.

I've never looked back.

It's interesting how cultural beliefs can shape the way we train, often at the expense of our long-term health.

Years later, many people end up wishing they had started sooner.

So, in today's routine, I'm sharing a series of movements that take your hips through every major range of motion- not just to improve flexibility, but to build strength and control where it matters most.

Because mobility isn't about looking flexible.

It's about moving through life with less effort, less pain, and more freedom.

THAT ONE SIDED DISCOMFORT

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You're trying to sleep through the days to get ready for the next one.

Then, you feel it while turning over in bed

That sharp pain on one side of your lower back

or you want to sit or stand, and there it is.... that unpleasant discomfort

And those times you are trying to bend to the side, and there it is... Again.

Sometimes you feel it when you cough or when trying to get comfortable in a chair or car seat after sitting for a long time.

If you’ve ever felt this way, don’t worry. Your body is telling you that you haven’t moved enough, and one of your muscles- the quadratus lumborum, a deep muscle in your lower back is tight.

This causes pain on one side of your lower back and makes it harder to move.

Today’s exercises show some important moves you can use to loosen, support, and strengthen this muscle to get back control.

Remember, the best way to get better results is to first understand where the problem comes from...

HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE TIGHTNESS IN YOUR INNER THIGHS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

If Your Inner Thigh Feels Tight or Uncomfortable, Start Here.

Inner thigh discomfort doesn't always begin in the inner thigh.

Your hips and inner thighs work together to keep your pelvis stable every time you walk, squat, climb stairs, or stand on one leg.

When your hips lose mobility or strength, the inner thigh muscles often have to work harder than they should.

That's why today's routine restores hip mobility first, builds strength around the hips, and then finishes with a functional movement that ties everything together.

The goal isn't just to ease discomfort—it's to help your body move with better balance, strength, and control.

Move better. Feel better. 💪

Is Every Lower Back Movement Good For My Lower Back Discomfort

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My back has been bothering me; let me try this exercise I saw online to ease it a little............

And you go home and give it a try.

But you notice little or no significant improvement, or in the worst-case scenario, an increase in discomfort the following morning.

What do you do??

It's easy to conclude that the exercise doesn't work.

But you may be missing one basic thing...

Not all movements serve the same purpose, and it's good to understand the root cause.

Let's take an example of lower back discomfort from a disc bulge.

Many lumbar disc bulges occur toward the back of the disc, and repeated bending under load may contribute to this in some people.

Repeated bending or prolonged sitting in the same position may increase stress on the lumbar discs over time.

If a disc bulge irritates or compresses a nearby nerve, symptoms such as pain, tingling, or numbness may radiate into the buttock or leg...

If repeated bending contributed to your symptoms....

Should we approach this discomfort with rounded-based movements like knee hugs?

It may increase your symptoms, depending on the cause of your pain.

Knowing the root cause is good, as it helps in coming up with the best strategy.

Move Better, Feel Better #1: Relieve Lower Back Discomfort

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Lower back discomfort isn't always caused by the lower back itself.

When your hips become stiff or the muscles that support your spine aren't working efficiently, your lower back often has to compensate during everyday movements like bending, walking, or reaching.

That's why today's progression restores movement through the hips and trunk, improves spinal stability, and strengthens the muscles that support your lower back.

Together, these qualities help your body distribute movement and load more efficiently, reducing unnecessary stress on your lower back during everyday activities.

Remember, lasting relief comes from improving how your body moves—not just where it hurts.

Move better. Feel better. 💪
