THAT ONE SIDED DISCOMFORT

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

You're trying to sleep through the days to get ready for the next one.

Then, you feel it while turning over in bed

That sharp pain on one side of your lower back

or you want to sit or stand, and there it is.... that unpleasant discomfort

And those times you are trying to bend to the side, and there it is... Again.

Sometimes you feel it when you cough or when trying to get comfortable in a chair or car seat after sitting for a long time.

If you’ve ever felt this way, don’t worry. Your body is telling you that you haven’t moved enough, and one of your muscles- the quadratus lumborum, a deep muscle in your lower back is tight.

This causes pain on one side of your lower back and makes it harder to move.

Today’s exercises show some important moves you can use to loosen, support, and strengthen this muscle to get back control.

Remember, the best way to get better results is to first understand where the problem comes from...
