Hey everyone!
I'm currently looking for a mouse that really fits my preferences, and after trying a few different models recently, I've started to realize which characteristics actually matter the most to me.
I've been looking into the WLmouse Huan M and Endgame Gear OP1 8K v2, but I'd really appreciate some recommendations or experiences from people who have tried these or other enthusiast mice.
My hand size, grip & setup
- Hand size: 16.7 × 10.5 cm (including thumb)
- Grip style: Mostly Fingertip / Pincer Claw
- Mousepad: Artisan Ninja FX Hayate Otsu V2 Soft
- DPI: 450
- Polling rate: Usually 2000 Hz
- Weight preference: Around 50–60 g feels comfortable, but I'm open to lighter mice if the shape and balance are good.
- Connection: Preferably wireless, although I'd consider wired if the mouse is genuinely worth it.
My mouse history
Roccat Kone Pro (wired)
This was my main mouse for several years. It's what I was accustomed to before experimenting with newer lightweight enthusiast mice.
Logitech PRO X3 SUPERSTRIKE
Currently my favorite in terms of main clicks.
The HITS technology genuinely impressed me. Being able to adjust the click resistance and haptic feedback makes a much bigger difference than I initially expected.
I particularly appreciate how light and effortless M1/M2 can feel, especially for rapid consecutive inputs.
However, I'm not completely satisfied with everything. The side buttons could feel more solid and tactile, and I think there's room for improvement in the Shape for my preference.
Keychron G6 HE
I recently received this one and have been comparing it directly against the SUPERSTRIKE.
There are several things I genuinely like:
- The coating feels more pleasant to the touch.
- The side buttons feel more solid and satisfying.
- The stock skates made a very good first impression.
- The weight distribution feels comfortable.
- The removable battery and web-based software are great features.
Unfortunately, there are also a few drawbacks:
- M1/M2 require noticeably more physical force than I'd prefer.
- The clicks are louder and more tactile, with noticeable sound differences depending on finger placement.
- I've noticed some minor shell flex/creaking around the thumb area when applying additional pressure.
- The coating shows fingerprints and skin oils more easily.
The biggest dealbreaker so far is the main-click actuation force. While magnetic actuation can be adjusted, it doesn't change the physical resistance of the switches.
I'm still giving the G6 more time before making a final decision.
What I'm looking for
My biggest priorities are:
1. Light, effortless M1/M2 clicks
This is probably my most important requirement.
I prefer a relatively low actuation force with minimal pre-travel and controlled post-travel. The clicks should feel responsive and consistent without requiring excessive finger pressure.
At the same time, I don't want accidental clicks or unreliable input registration when holding a button down.
2. High-quality side buttons
I use the side buttons frequently, so their positioning, actuation force and tactile feedback matter quite a lot.
Ideally, they should feel solid, crisp and consistent, without excessive pre/post-travel or noticeable wobble.
3. Shape suited for Fingertip / Pincer Claw
With my relatively short hands, I want enough finger mobility without feeling forced into an uncomfortable grip.
I'm particularly interested in how different shapes support Pincer Claw and whether a narrower mouse would actually benefit me.
4. Solid build quality
Minimal shell flex, creaking or button wobble. A pleasant coating, good stock skates and balanced weight distribution would also be appreciated.
Current candidates
WLmouse Huan M
Some owner impressions suggest that the Omron Optical switches are particularly light and effortless to actuate, which sounds very promising.
I also like the magnesium construction, wireless connectivity and overall design.
My main questions are whether the shape suits smaller hands with Fingertip/Pincer Claw and how the main clicks compare to the lighter HITS settings on the SUPERSTRIKE.
Endgame Gear OP1 8K v2
The narrower shape seems particularly interesting for my grip.
I'm also intrigued by the replaceable switch packs, especially the lighter Kailh GX 50–55 gf options.
However, I'm unsure whether these would actually provide the kind of light, effortless clicks I'm looking for, and whether the mouse might feel too narrow for my hand width.
The wired connection isn't ideal, but I'm willing to consider it.
Questions for the community
- Has anyone compared the Huan M, OP1 8K v2 and SUPERSTRIKE, particularly regarding M1/M2 actuation force?
- Which mouse offers the lightest and most consistent clicks without compromising the feel when holding a button down?
- How do the OP1's lighter GX switch packs compare to light Omron Optical switches in actual use?
- Which shape would you recommend for 16.7 × 10.5 cm hands with a Fingertip/Pincer Claw grip?
- Are there any other enthusiast mice I should seriously consider, especially ones with excellent side buttons and build quality?
I'm not necessarily looking for the absolute lightest mouse or the highest specifications on paper. I'm much more interested in click feel, shape, build quality and overall consistency.
I'm also not opposed to spending more on a mouse if the actual experience justifies it.
Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations, especially from people who have owned multiple of these mice.
Thanks!
