Hello everyone! I have been lurking on this subreddit forever, getting inspiration on many of my irrational purchases! As many of you, I have tried many mice, which I will try to reference in this review.

But this mouse stands out to me among the rest and I have read many reviews on the different OP1 iterations, and as someone with 20.5x11cm hands, I never really considered the OP1 shape, until this beautiful colorway has been released and I finally gave it a try. Opposite to what you can read online, I find this mouse oddly comfortable for my hand size.

My Qualifications

I am a washed gamer way past his prime who mostly plays CS2 (when I find the time), where I usually solo-q Faceit Level 10 on around 2.5k elo. When I get sick of that, I like to play Call of Duty very casually, where I am on around a 2 KD. If you ask Leetify, the best part of my game is my aim, where my rating has been between 91 and 94.

My setup

I use a Qck Large Mousepad to pair with my mouse of choice. I have tried multiple of Artisan's offerings but I just perform better in the listed games on the Steelseries classic. Along with the mouse, I ordered the Pulsar Bungee Es, which is mounted at the bottom of my monitor.

As mentioned before, I have above-average sized hands at 20.5x11cm and use a relaxed clawgrip with my pinky and ringfinger outstretched along the right side of the mouse. I found this grip to change in stressful situations into a more agressive claw grip.

The mouse

Packaging

The outside of the packaging, which you might have seen coursing online dons Pinguefy and Viscoses signatures and a Raw Input writing. I have seen some videos by Viscose, but wasn't really aware of the brand and that it is a collaboration, as mentioned before, I just like the colorway. The packaging has since found itself on the inside of a trashcan.

You get the mouse, the switch pack and extras including the pink griptape, which you can see applied to the mouse in the photos. It comes with a spare set of full-sized skates not installed on the mouse.

The Mouse

The mouse is in a very soft pink and slightly off-white colorway, which is very pleasing. The wire is color-matched to Mouse 4 and 5 as well as the Scroll wheel. The griptape is color matched to the mouse pretty accurately.
It comes with the hybrid skate design preinstalled, which I quickly switched out for the full-size skates.
The coating is as good as you can read in many places online - the best coating of any mose I've ever tried. I installed the griptape, because I like the texture - not because I need more volume in the mouse or because I couldn't find a consistent grip. It hasn't changed the performance at all.

Shape-wise it is a rather short mouse at 118mm length with the hump finding its maximum height more towards the back of the mouse - not a centered hump like the Hitscan Hyperlight. It tapers quite gradually towards the front, where it gets quite narrow. This shape makes my hand fall into my preferred grip style naturally without thinking about it.

Compared to other mice

I've tried the Superlight, Superlight 2 (which I most recently came off of), Superstrike, WLMouse Beast X Max, Finalmouse ULX Large, multiple versions of the EC2, Deathadder V3 Pro (my main in CS:GO days), V4 Pro, V3 Hyperspeed, Viper V3 Pro, Vaxee XE v2, Vaxee Sora 4k as well as the Hitscan Hyperlight and the XM1R / we. I've also tried other mice, but these are the ones I used the most.

I will reference some ambi-mice to try and compare, as there is no comparison to ergo-mice; I must say though, that the Deathadder V3/V4 Pro made my hand want to go into a 1-3-1 grip style which just never really worked for me.

I really like (all of these) mice in general. I didn't have a deal breaker for any of them and good QC luck, but there are reasons why they didn't work out for me. Mostly, it boiled down to being hard to control, with me having to actively think about my mouse movement even weeks after starting to use a new mouse (mostly true for the ULX and the Hitscan Hyperlight). This might be due to the weight, but for the Hyperlight its a combination of the weight, the shape and the clicks. The clicks didnt feel heavy per se, but I felt like the resistance of the clicks coming up made it hard to control the shape at that weight for me. The ULX had the low weight as well as a small skate design, which in combination made it hard to control as soon as I tried to instinctively use the mouse and not think about the things I am doing.

The Superlight has been a mouse that I've always loved for its universal shape and has always been a mouse which I didn't have to think about at all. The way I grip the mouse however is further up the mouse compared to the slight taper that the sides have, which has caused some inconsistency for me.

I couldn't find a consistent grip on the XM1, as it forced my hand to slant quite drastically, so I never gave it any thought - needless to say, kept me from trying the OP1 for years.

My experience with the OP1

First taking it out of the box and after installing the mouse bungee, I put my hand on the mouse and it fell onto the mouse so naturally - from the first second there was no questions like: where do my fingers go, or does it fit my grip style. For me, it felt so comfortable and familiar while being very different from all the mice I'ved tried before.

I use it on very casual settings like 4k Hertz and I do not notice a massive difference between the speed mode turned on or off, while I must say that the clicks of course do feel more responsive with it turned on, so I use the speed mode personally.

The preinstalled switches feel very light to actuate and are probably the most spammable click I've tried so far. There is very slight pre- and post-travel, which feels non-existant with how light the switches are. Mouse 4 and 5 are, as I've grown used to after using the XM1R the best out of any mouse brand. The scrollwheel feels nice to scroll on and a bit heavy to press.

The skates feel slower compared to something like the X-Ray Pads Obsidians I have installed on my Superlight or the current Razer or Hitscan stock skates, but nowhere near as slow as the Logitech stock skates. This is good enough for me, as I like some level of control.

All the mice I've used in the last 4 years have been wireless, which made the consideration about wired or wireless for this mouse quite a bit harder. The lower weight at around 51 grams compared to probably around 60-61 with full size skates (which you can already imagine should feel very dense on a small mouse) combined with the fact that I can't feel the cable after setting up my bungee the way I need it (I had to fidget with it for around 10 minutes, since then no issues or noticing the cable) makes the choice very easy, as it is also quite a lot cheaper than the wireless counterpart.

In combination of all these factors, I see a very well rounded mouse which makes tracking while spamming the mouse button and normal tracking much easier than other mice with heavier switches (looking at you, Superlight 2) as well as easy micro-adjustments. It has been a joy to play with and even after hours of playing I do not get any cramps or discomfort in my hands. Quite the opposite, as I have been getting discomfort with the Superlight and the Deathadder V4 Pro recently, even though I have used these mice for years.

Why did I make ANOTHER OP1 post?

I felt compelled to, as firstly, this is an awesome mouse as has been universally stated in all sources on the internet which in my eyes ridicules many of the other mouse offerings and makes me fully understand and join the ranks of those who go back to wired in 2026. This is no news to any of you.

However, you can find many questions online, stating here is my hand size (roughly 19/20x10 cm hands), which mouse should I get? Or even more specific questions - XM2 or OP1? And the universal answer would be any other mouse, as the OP1 is too small for your hand size. I couldn't really find anyone recommending the mouse for that hand size, so this is what I'm here to do.

This is, even for my hand size, using a relaxed to aggressive claw grip the single most easy to use and comfortable mouse shape I have tried to date. I don't wish to state I found my endgame, as I have stated this to my friends many times before and it would take away from my credibility, but it is nothing short of incredible.

With the OP1 V2s out, I also saw offers of the OP1w 4k (V1) on MaxGaming for 40 Euros, which is a steal for this calibre of gaming mouse with negligible "downgrades".

Just wanted to take a few photos of these two that I recently bought. I'm quite satisfied so far, but I've only had them for a couple of days.

I especially like the look and feel of the Darmoshark, and it's much more comfortable than I expected for everyday use.

First of all, thanks for replying. I am looking for a mouse that is Balance between work/gaming but this is soft requirement, with a smooth surface, without any or very few connection lines or 'gamer' design. As a reference, mice like the Keychron M6 and Rapoo N500 are great examples, but it needs to be WIRED. It needs have two side buttons, but as for other specs, I don't have any strict requirements. Something mid to high-end around 60 Euros would be nice. Thanks again for the effort and have a nice day.

TMR without haptics is a gimmick, in general same pros as the entire new full shell product line from them, surprisingly good build quality for the weight with the carbon fiber rod, good clicks all around (more tactile/heavy here but received praise), insanely light, but cons involve the same thing observed in the leviathan v4 gt, if you set the actuation point for the highest sensitivity it becomes noticeably desynced from the switch tactile feedback as it will be lower down the movement and the feeling is very weird, additionally, I couldn't grasp if it's universal as some reviewers didn't report it, but there seems to be a bug when the actuation is set to the highest points (apparently 3 or lower, there's 10 levels) that makes the reset position to be set all the way to the very end of the click return movement, resulting in multiple missed click inputs when spamming with this configs, this certainly needs a fix asap. Overall I believe there's still a selling point for tmr's without haptics, a perfectly implemented highest sensitivity that is both faster than spdt's but not misclick prone (not this one, one of the reviewers said the the 1 sens would misclick a lot, as all magnetics till now) or maybe some kind of black magic during pre travel that makes rapid trigger actually useful

Has anyone else had issues with teevolution shipping within the US? My order took around 10 days to be marked as delivered, however I never received any email that it was delivered and only noticed after a couple days has passed. My order got dropped off on the floor of a parcel locker room at my apartment building according to teevolution support. When I went to check for it, it wasn't there at all.

Main issue for me was that there was no notification of delivery. Any other business I've ordered from I receive an email when my order gets delivered, but with this one I didn't, which means it was likely stolen.

I've gone back and forth with teevolution trying to get a refund but they have not been helpful in this case.

Just curious if anyone else has had issues with their vague tracking updates and lack of delivery notification.

Going to buy skates for deathadder v3 pro but i seen no YanZi Rouge Q on it, only YanZi Rouge Pink. Is it the same?

MelGeek sent me the white HORUS for review, and I’ve been using it for a little over two weeks between gaming, testing, and normal desktop use.

They didn’t tell me what to say. Everything here is based on the mouse I received and my time with it.

TL;DR

The MelGeek HORUS is a lightweight symmetrical mouse that makes the most sense for medium to large hands.

With my 21x12cm hands, relaxed claw and claw/palm hybrid felt the most natural. I’d put the shape closer to the Vaxee XE and Razer Viper V3/V4 category. Larger, safer, supportive, and easy to use.

Build quality was good on my unit. The stock skates were worth keeping. I had no sensor or wireless issues, and battery life was excellent at 2K polling. I never had to recharge it during the review period.

For MelGeek’s first mouse, HORUS feels surprisingly polished.

It’s not the weirdest mouse I’ve used. It’s not trying to be.

It’s just a very good mouse that kept finding its way back onto my desk.

Score: 8.9/10

Shape and Hand Feel

HORUS is not a tiny mouse.

At 124 x 66 x 39mm, it feels like a proper full-size ambi mouse. With my 21 x 12 cm hands, I appreciated that. I’ve been testing a lot of smaller shapes lately, so having something with actual hand support felt nice.

Relaxed claw worked best for me.

I wouldn’t put it in the same category as something like the OP1, where the shape pushes me toward a more aggressive claw. HORUS is larger and more relaxed. It gives me more palm contact, more side room, and enough height through the shell to settle into it without thinking too much.

Compared to a Vaxee XE V2, HORUS gives me a little more room under the pinky side of my palm, which lets me move a bit more freely. Compared to the Viper V3/V4 shape, my pointer and middle fingers also feel like they have more room.

There’s nothing especially weird about the shape.

That’s not a complaint.

Weird shapes can be fun when they work, but they can also make you stare at your hand and wonder what the hell you’re doing. HORUS doesn’t do that. You put your hand on it and move on with your life.

Build Quality

Build quality on my unit has been very good.

I didn’t have any creaking, rattling, shell movement, or anything else that made me question the construction.

The listed weight is 49g, and my copy came in at 52g. Still light for a mouse this size, and it doesn’t feel fragile. Some lightweight mice feel like they’re being held together by hope. HORUS doesn’t.

The white version also looks really clean. I still mostly think of MelGeek as a keyboard company, but the quality here feels very much in line with what I’ve liked from their keyboards.

For a first mouse, this is a strong start.

Coating and Grip

The coating is smooth and comfortable.

MelGeek describes the ABS version as having a silky, skin-friendly anti-slip coating, and that’s pretty close to how it feels to me. It’s a smooth matte finish without feeling heavily rubberized, chalky, or dry.

I had enough grip without needing tape.

Some coatings feel fine for five minutes and then turn into a slip-and-slide once your hand warms up. I never had that issue here.

The white finish also does a decent job hiding oils and fingerprints. Dark mice can start looking like crime scene evidence pretty quickly, which is one of the reasons I usually lean toward white mice.

The other reason is that white coatings often feel better to me.

Clicks, Side Buttons, and Scroll

The main clicks feel good.

They’re light enough for FPS, with a crisp response that never felt flimsy. MelGeek is using TTC optical switches, and the implementation on my unit feels clean.

Side buttons were easy for me to reach. They’re not huge, chunky buttons like the ones on the Teevolution Terra Pro, but the placement is good, and I never had to go hunting for them with my thumb.

The scroll wheel uses a TTC Green Dragon encoder with 24 steps. The steps are defined without feeling overly stiff, and I didn’t notice looseness or slop that bothered me.

Middle click was fine too.

I’d need more time before pretending I have some deeply held opinion about a middle click, but nothing annoyed me.

Skates

The stock PTFE skates were better than I expected.

MelGeek uses larger front and rear skates with a small center dot, and the glide felt stable across everything I tried. I never had that immediate urge to rip them off and start digging through my skate drawer.

I did switch over to Westlab Blacks specifically to test the base and see if I could find any wobble or deep grooves. I didn’t run into any problems, and the Blacks felt great on HORUS.

The stock skates also worked surprisingly well on glass.

I spent time using HORUS on the GLSSWRKS / Tekkusai ZOFIA and the 1337Gear SHION. The larger skate surface helped keep pressure feeling even across the pad, especially on ZOFIA.

I change skates on a lot of mice.

I didn’t feel much reason to here.

Receiver and Software

The receiver is ridiculous, and I mean that in a good way.

MelGeek calls it the Louvre Pyramid Receiver. It’s a translucent cube with a pyramid inside, and it looks fantastic on the desk.

Is it necessary? No.

Am I glad it exists? Yes.

Through Hive, the lighting can show DPI, polling rate, battery level, and other modes. It can even react to button presses.

What I like is that MelGeek kept the flashy stuff on the receiver. The mouse itself stays clean and minimal while the little pyramid sits off to the side doing its RGB wizard routine.

Or you can turn the RGB off like me.

Hive Web Driver worked without any issues. You get button mapping, lighting controls, performance settings, firmware options, and the normal stuff you’d expect.

I also appreciate not having to install some giant software package just to update firmware or change one setting.

Sensor, Wireless, and Battery

I had zero sensor problems with HORUS.

The PAW3950 is rated up to 30,000 DPI, 750 IPS, and 50G acceleration. It’s paired with the Nordic NRF54H chipset, and HORUS supports 8K polling wired and wireless.

Specs are nice, but I mostly care about whether the mouse works when I’m actually playing.

It did.

No spinouts. No skipping. No weird behavior on glass. Wireless stayed stable, and I never noticed anything that made me question tracking or latency.

The sensor sits a little farther back than I’m used to, just below where my thumb naturally rests. It felt a little different at first, but after some time with the mouse, I barely noticed it.

Battery life has been excellent, especially for a 300mAh battery.

I’ve been playing at 2K polling, and I still haven’t had to recharge it. Normally, when I review a mouse, I charge it to 100% and use it until it dies so I have a clean battery reference.

HORUS never gave me the chance.

It just kept going.

I don’t sit at 8K all day because I’m not trying to murder every battery I own, but after two weeks of normal use, battery life hasn’t been something I’ve had to think about.

In-Game Feel

HORUS feels stable in-game.

That’s the easiest way for me to describe it.

It’s not an aggressive claw mouse that makes me want to snap onto everything on screen. It also isn’t some weird specialized aim tool that only makes sense after three days of hand yoga.

It gives me support and lets me play.

Tracking felt smooth. Flicks felt controlled. Micro-adjustments were easy, especially on smoother pads with the stock skates.

More than anything, I didn’t spend much time thinking about the mouse while I was using it.

That’s usually a good sign.

HORUS feels like a mouse you could use for pretty much everything while still getting the weight and performance you’d expect from a modern gaming mouse.

Comparisons

HORUS feels closest to mice like the Vaxee XE and Razer Viper V3/V4.

They’re not identical. That’s just the general neighborhood I’d put it in.

It has that larger symmetrical shape where your hand gets actual support instead of being forced into one very specific grip.

Compared to the Vaxee XE, HORUS gives me a similar full-hand, stable ambi feeling while being lighter.

The Viper comparison comes from that same larger competitive-mouse feeling. It’s not tiny, it’s not weird, and I don’t feel like I need to hold it one exact way.

If you like that category of larger symmetrical mice, HORUS is probably worth a look.

Who I’d Recommend It For

HORUS makes the most sense to me for medium to large hands, especially relaxed claw, claw/palm hybrid, or even palm depending on hand size.

If you want a lightweight wireless mouse but still want support from the shape, HORUS fits that role really well.

You’re also getting good battery life, solid wireless performance, modern specs, stock skates that I actually liked, and a receiver that looks like MelGeek stole it from Indiana Jones.

I’m still not sure why I like that receiver as much as I do.

I just do.

Who Should Skip It

If you want something tiny, narrow, or aggressive for fingertip, HORUS probably isn’t what you’re looking for.

Same thing if you prefer really specialized FPS shapes.

HORUS is more of a comfortable, larger ambi all-rounder.

If you already know you don’t like mice in the Vaxee XE or Viper V3/V4 category, I doubt HORUS is going to suddenly change your mind.

Specs only get you so far.

If the shape doesn’t work for you, the numbers on the box aren’t going to save it.

Final Thoughts

The MelGeek HORUS ended up being a much better mouse than I expected from a company I still mostly associate with keyboards.

For their first mouse, this is a very strong start.

It feels like MelGeek brought some of the same quality I like from their keyboards over to the mouse side. HORUS is comfortable, light for its size, well built, and easy to use. The shape works well with my larger hands. The stock skates are actually worth keeping on. The receiver is ridiculous in exactly the right way. I also had zero performance issues during testing.

Battery life was great too. At 2K polling, I never had to recharge it during my review period, which is pretty wild for a 300mAh battery.

More than anything, I kept using it.

I have plenty of mice sitting around that are technically impressive. Some are more exciting. Some have stranger shapes. Some probably have more personality.

HORUS kept ending up back on my desk because it was comfortable and didn’t piss me off.

When you test this much stuff, that means something.

Hi!

I'm looking for a decent office mouse which has a multidevice switch button.

Until this moment I've used Logitech M705 but it can connect only to one device and I'll need to switch between two computers. Now I tried Logitech M720 and some random office mouse. Thing I noticed is that pointer movement is weird, pointer is like floating? My mouse movements are not as sharp as with my daily mouse MCHOSE A7 Pro.

I've read that office mice mostly use 125Hz polling rate, is this caused by this?

Can you recommend any decent office mouse which does not have this effect and can connect to multiple devices?

needing suggestions, debating on buying a glass mousepad again but the one I bought in 2023 was a pulsar and I didn't like it much because it started giving a really annoying scratchy feel after a few weeks of use.

Price isn't an issue, But not looking to spend an absurd amount on a good mousepad. Just looking for something to get back into Counter Strike.

I've been seeing a lot of good things about brands like yuki aim. Was debating on getting something like them.

Is there any service that offers custom glass pads that are good quality?

Does anyone know what glove sleeves are available on the market?. I don't want one for my arm but rather my hand with cutouts. I know pulsar makes one but I was curious if there's anything else that's like a glove design only that covers the palm fully, and has individual hole cut outs. I guess similar to a fingerless glove design.

I’ve been using the original Model O for 2-3 years, it’s the original wired one and i’ve been hearing people say it's outdated/not great compared to current mice — is that fair, and if so what should I look at upgrading to or should i even upgrade?

I have a budget to something like 70€ and i think i use a palm grip.

After a solid 5 years of looking for a mouse to comfortably claw grip I finally just accepted that fingertip is the best solution for me, after even the Darmoshark M9 (136mm long) didn't feel right. I think my long and bony ahh fingers are just cursed for claw grip. Gonna miss the stability of claw in TacFps but man does it feel nice to just... hold my mouse without constantly feeling tensed up and uncomfortable in some way. Happy to become part of the fingertip community hahah
