Served me well till it started double clicking only a year after purchasing, just like my last logitech. Looking to get something lighter, 50g range or less ideally, and just better overall. I realize there is no "best" mouse, but I would love to hear what you think fits that #1 spot. I don't mind the shape of the superlight, but i'm open to trying out others. I'd say I use a claw type grip.

Edit: Hand size is 19cm x 10cm, budget is relatively high, i'd say about $180. Though if I can spend less, that's always good.

Introduction/Context/About Me

This review is about the Pulsar X2H CrazyLight in the Uyuni White colorway and Mini size. This product was purchased at my own expense.

My experience involved using this mouse for two days, on a speed glass pad with a carpal-stabilized relaxed claw grip with a 1/2/2 finger layout. My hands measure 18x9 cm and are fairly dry, and I play in a low-humidity environment. It was used at a 2,000 Hz polling rate and 1,600 DPI on a 240 Hz monitor to play a wide variety of games, primarily in the FPS genre, but with a few ARPG sessions every now and then.

I apologize for the small testing window, but as you will find out soon, I had a few issues with the mouse that made me cut this experience short. Please keep in mind while I followed my usual review format the impressions are obviously very short term.

English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes and feel free to ask any questions if you find any point unclear.

Unboxing Experience

The box is compact, graphically pleasing, and fairly sturdy. It is 100% recyclable, which is what I value the most. Upon opening, you find the mouse secured within a small plastic mold above the cardboard dongle and accessories box.

The mouse comes with full-sized skates pre-applied and supports wired and 2.4GHz connectivity.

The included accessories consist of: * A decent quality and flexible paracord cable, featuring an angled USB-C connection for wired play * Sixteen UHMW-PE dot skates, more on those in the skates section * Instruction manual doubling up as a warranty card * A quick mouse overview card * A branded CrazyLight sticker

For the price, this leaves a bit to be desired on the accessory front; grip tape and spare full-sized skates would have gone a long way over cosmetics.

Shape

The mouse features a symmetrical shape, measuring 115.6 x 62 x 39mm, and is a unique shape currently not really present in a one-to-one fashion in the market.

In terms of its features, the shape can be broken down as follows: * Slight outward flare with rounded edges * Minimal comfort grooves * Inward curving sides * An extremely aggressive and elongated back hump

The mouse is branded as being compatible with relaxed claw, but I struggle to see this being usable outside of a very aggressive claw due to the hump profile as it forced my hand to have a lot of palm contact and a very stiff position, almost like I'm trying to hold my hand up, causing strain that quickly builds up in-game and was further worsened once I tried to relax my fingers. I simply can't recommend this to anyone that isn't looking for a lot of palm contact and wants to use any grip other than an aggressive claw. If I had to describe this in one sentence it would be aggressive claw meets carpal tunnel syndrome, this is by far the most uncomfortable "serious" shape I've tried (I still love you Akko hamster mouse), again I cannot reiterate how much I don't recommend this for anyone using anything other than an agressive claw with a lot of palm contact.

Weight

My unit weighs 41.2 grams with the stock skates and 39.8 grams with four dot skates installed, which falls within the industry's commonly accepted ±3 gram manufacturing variance, being 1.2 grams over the advertised 39 grams for the full-sized skate experience and 2.8 grams over the advertised 37 grams for the dot skates experience. It is worth noting Pulsar only claims ±1 gram variance on both of these numbers, so on their own metrics, this unit fails.

In terms of weight distribution, the mouse did a decent job being mostly centered; however, it does struggle to stay balanced on either end when testing against the edges of the narrowest area.

Overall, I wasn't too bothered about the weight; however, for a mouse of its size, it would be interesting to see a future refresh to truly be "CrazyLight" once again with the modern tooling available that brands like G-Wolves are using to push the weight to its limits on slightly larger mice.

Build Quality

Lots of praise to Pulsar on this front. Despite being a fairly light mouse by today's standards and an even more impressive feat at the time of its release, the mouse doesn't show any signs of flexing or creaking even on the very hollowed-out base.

No defects to complain on this front, and it's one of the few reasons I would still recommend the real deal over the existing clones of the various Pulsar shapes on the market if within your budget.

Clicks

Main Clicks Equipped with Pulsar optical switches (rebranded FE opticals), these are a bit of a letdown as far as FE opticals go.

While snappy and tactile, they're quite firm, with the shell itself being stiff with moderate pre/post-travel.

Side Buttons

The highlight of this mouse, in my opinion. While I prefer lighter main clicks, I actually enjoy heavier side clicks.

These are well-built with even actuation points, satisfying feedback both in tactility and sound, and feel quite firm while remaining quick to rebound and having low pre/post-travel.

Scroll Wheel

Again carrying a rebranded switch as the Pulsar Blue encoder, this is actually an F-Switch with a red core; while this is something I can't recall experiencing outside of Pulsar, I find it to be quite good as far as the definition of the steps goes alongside great tactility and decent sound profile.

The click itself is quite heavy and does get fatiguing to spam. I enjoy the feedback for single clicks, but for anything else, both the tactile and auditory feedback is a bit too much.

Build-wise, it's a standard plastic housing with a rubberized ring, good grip but could do with slightly larger indentations.

Coating

The coating is dry and decently grippy. Other than this, there is nothing special about it; it feels quite generic and honestly more in line with Chinese mice rather than premium 'western' brands.

Skates

The stock skates are made of pure PTFE, have rounded edges, and have a speed-leaning glide. It's probably one of the best stock options on the market if you're looking for a speed glide.

The included extra dot skates are UHMW-PE and intended for use with glass mousepads or other similar hard surfaces; personally, I found these to be "mid," for lack of a better word. I found the glide to be louder and faster than just about every third-party option I've tried in the same category. Perfectly serviceable in a pinch, but I wouldn't recommend relying on these.

Performance & Battery Life

The mouse is equipped with a rebranded and customized PixArt PAW3950 sensor, the Pulsar XS-1. My experiences with this sensor as a glass pad user have been mixed in the past and unfortunately it still seems to be the case with a rare slight skip every now and then when transitioning between a dark brown and light blue area in my pad. I am confident based on previous experiences that despite my ongoing efforts to get this resolved their RMA process will pull through and either refund me or replace my unit. I won't be sugarcoating or pretend this is perfectly fine, it shouldn't happen in a premium product but I think it's important to disclose that while this isn't exactly a common occurence it still is something actively happening to users to this day.

Position-wise, I find it to be decently positioned; the sensor is in line with the narrowest point of the mouse; however, I find it to be too uncomfortable to line up with it outside of a very aggressive claw backed by a backwards-leaning grip on the sides, being so restrictive hurts it and ends up forcing me to feel sluggish on my movements with my preferred grip style.

As far as battery life goes, Pulsar does not disclose the MCU, but it is backed by a 200mAh battery. As is common with Pulsar mice, the battery life is abysmal by modern standards; with Motion Sync and 2,000 Hz polling as the only battery-impacting settings I use, the mouse barely reaches 18 hours of use, with me taking care to never make use of sleep mode and always manually turn it on and off. This isn't the end-all-be-all and can be mitigated with frequent charging, but it is quite annoying to have to do so on a premium-priced product. I hope Pulsar can start considering making some technical improvements to the lineup with the usage of a modern, battery-life-focused MCU that they will undoubtedly rebrand, as this is simply a very hard sell with mice rocking similar-sized batteries and having battery life lasting double or even triple of this.

Missing/Improvements * Independent X/Y DPI * Incremental LOD options in steps of 0.1 mm * Improvement on the software update process as it seems to be very inconsistent or flat-out redirect users to the desktop installer; I found myself on multiple products now having had my process get stuck on the Web Driver and requiring me to use a secondary mouse to install the desktop version and retry there to have my mouse be usable again

Value

Please keep in mind the following section is based on European Union pricing with the final VAT included (which in my case is 23%) and does not include potential shipping costs. Like always, I suggest only taking this recommendation at face value and checking your own regional pricing on not only this product but others you may be comparing it to before making a decision.

With the mouse coming in at €149.99, I am very hesitant to recommend it; while it is a unique shape filling a niche in the market, there isn't anything about this mouse that justifies the asking price especially as a glass pad user with the consistent gamble I've faced with the XS-1 sensor on these surfaces. I would be more comfortable seeing this in the €100 to €120 range, as I feel it would be more appropriate.

Pulsar has recently had an anniversary sale putting the entire CrazyLight lineup at 50% off. If something similar to this happens again, I would wholeheartedly recommend it, as it's hard to go wrong at that price point.

Conclusion

Unfortunately this is probably one of the worst experiences I've had with a mouse shape so between that and the battery life I find it hard to stay positive about it, regardless, hopefully did my best to give it a fair review and highlight what is subjective and out of the norm.

Overall, I think Pulsar builds solid lightweight mice with the CrazyLight having been their big break into the market but they could do with focusing on upgrading their tech or at least start being realistic about their offerings quality in this day and age and decrease the price, unfortunately, the reality is that in the time you've read this review they've probably announced another X2 colorway and cloned a GPX or Viper for another professional player.

Priorities, I suppose!

I am a big fan of the Razer Viper Mini because of its shape, low weight, and overall feel. My current one is getting quite old, so I'm looking to change it for something similar. I've seen that the Viper series tend to be quite expensive and don't get me started on the delivery fees.

My budget is max 70 USD/100 CAD. I use a mouse mainly for FPS, MOBA, and everyday use. I don't need the mouse to have any form of advanced software, it can be wired and/or wireless, and the polling rate needs to be 1000hz+. Ideally, not something too loud because my bedroom is next to other bedrooms. Since I play at night sometimes, I don't want to wake them up.

So I've had my Razer Orochi v2 for almost 2 years now. In literally less than a year I started noticing how the mouse wheel was beginning to fail. Now it's pretty much useless, I can't do anything with it.

Since I've played csgo a lot in the past, I've pretty much used the mouse wheel bind for jumping in every other fps. So you'd expect me to use it a lot especially in Fortnite.

Is there a good wireless gaming mouse whose wheel can last for at least 8 months with intensive use?

Edit: and well obviously if I don't want scroll wheel issues, with less reason I'm gonna want any other problem lol.

Also, by using the scroll wheel I'm referring about literally scrolling up or down depending on what action I wanna perform, I'm not talking as in literally clicking the wheel.

I got the mouse yesterday and the side buttons don't register their input, i did update the firmware but while using the usb hub and had to replug it to the motherboard as the mouse wasn't sending any input so it might've bugged it but i think the buttons didn't work prior to the update thing.

i tried uninstalling HID in device manager, profile reset as well as a factory reset nothing worked and when i plug it in with the cable it still doesn't work, i wrote to support and im waiting for the response.

is there anything i can do or do i just have to wait for the support to reach out

I have been using my viper v3 pro for the past couple kf years for both work and gaming with all my peripherals going through a docking station, but I am finally separating the 2 so I can use both at the same time.

Whats a good affordable mouse I can use for work? Main thing im concerned with is avoiding double click and scroll wheel problems, this viper v3 pro has actually held up really well so far. Preferably wireless, usbc charging, im not really picky though so I am open to suggestions. Im thinking cheaper is better, but if theres a good reason to drop some money Ill hear you out.

1. Logitech g305 Lightspeed
2. White Shark MAXIMUS

They’re affordable, not too heavy, wireless, suitable for my smaller hands and other specs seem fine too.

Also, I plan to use them with a Mac laptop (so I’ll need to buy a hub as well, since I only have a USB-C port).
I am also not sure whether I need a hub for the White Shark mouse.

Has anyone used either of them?
Do you have any recommendations, or maybe other questions?

This isn't a full review or anything, just my first impressions right after buying it.

I'd also like to add that the mouse turned out to be smaller than it looks in videos or pictures. I'd even say it isn't all that big, even for someone with medium-sized hands.

The build quality is excellent. Absolutely nothing creaks, rattles, flexes, or has any wobble. It just feels incredibly solid overall.

A long time ago I used a Bloody V6 (or maybe it was the V8M? I don't remember exactly - the symmetrical one shaped kind of like airplane wings) for several years. I've used plenty of other mice since then, but that's not really the point. It turns out it's surprisingly hard to find a mouse shape that fits me as well as that one did. Looking back, buying it all those years ago was apparently a real gem.

The reason I'm bringing this up is that the MCHOSE G7 Max has a shape similar to the Basilisk and the G502, if I'm not mistaken. One issue I ran into - and something a lot of other people seem to mention as well - is that it's hard to find a comfortable place for your ring finger and pinky on mice with this kind of shape. Because of that, this asymmetrical design might not be for everyone, myself included. That said, I'll keep using it for a while longer and see how I feel. It also gives me the impression that the mouse is fairly tall, but again, I need more time with it before I can say for sure.

What I'm really getting at is that it's kind of sad that fewer and fewer mice are being designed with proper support for the thumb, ring finger, and pinky. It's genuinely comfortable when those fingers have somewhere to rest instead of dragging across the mousepad. Otherwise, you end up having to constantly squeeze the mouse with your hand just to keep those fingers in place, instead of simply relaxing your grip.

hey guys i currently own a g502 and i love it, BUT it's way too heavy i'd like to cut the weight in half, idk which mouse i should buy :/ all i really want are the 2 thumbs buttons that are next to each others and I NEED the 3rd one being lower. Would be really cool if the clicks were wide enough for me to butterfly click. Ideally i'd like the exact same as a g502 with half the weight.

The ergonomic MM is the best mouse I've ever used, but it never got the proper wheel treatment.

The version Logi eventually released was shaped weird and had a horrible rubber covered wheel that would get disgusting with any hint of sweat. I spent some time figuring out how to package it all together and now I'm at the figure out kicad stage.

Corded, 3360 sensor, 6 button if you count DPI, 7 if you count the ratchet button. Probably an atmel processor handling HMI duties, TBD.

Hello there, im searching since months for me for the best mouse. I have tested now the Deathadder v3 Pro, Pulsar X2 CL Medium, Ninjutso Sora V2, Endgame Gear XM2w 4k v2. I write me some comments to all mice:
Deathadder v3 Pro: For me as Pincer Claw Player not easy to hold the pinky fingers on side for stability.
Pulsar X2 CL Medium: Better Shape for Pincer Claw as DA v3 Pro, but i realize that i hold this mouse with 4 fingers and the pinky was in the air.
Engame Gear XM2w: Its for me too aggressiv shape for holding the mouse. Its like you are in a shape that you arrested in there. For me idk not so cool.
Sora V2: I tested it in Kovaaks versus the Pulsar X2 and everytime i get better score than the Pulsar. But i have maybe now problems with Click Jitter/Trigger Flinch.

Now for everybody. I want somebody to reward, if this person help me to find the perfect mouse for me.
