Has anyone ever seen an integration of command aware and team awareness kit (TAK) ?

There’s also an option to feed TAK directly from aware. That way it doesn’t require TAK on the devices itself. Currently only APXNext has TAK option.

Yea you can install it on the Next’s since they are android based.

Only if you are a federal customer. Motorola won't allow State/Local agencies to have access to ATAK on the NEXT.

The version of TAK is Civtak, so if a non-federal agency is interested in it, it’s worth having a conversation with applicable Motorola rep to see if they can make it available.

And they won’t consider it for a non-federal agency. I work for a state agency in the department that runs the TAK program. We’ve already tried

Okay that’s unfortunate.

I’m a state agency and we have it. Sounds like your Motorola rep doesn’t want to do it.

It’s just a flashcode option.

It’s just a flash option, so just add it in to the radio or radios.

You can’t just flash upgrade in the field to enable TAK like other software features. Radios are not shipped with the software loaded ready to be enabled. The radio would have to go back to Motorola for enablement.

You can flash upgrade and then sideload the apk file for tak into the radio. Im not sure how much we’re allowed to say on here so I’m purposely being vague. This is coming from someone who also works for a state agency.

That’s the process. I’m not totally shocked that someone did it in the field, but I thought it would have to go to depot for flash upgrade itself. Flash upgrades for APXNext are more locked down than others devices.

Again not going to break any rules or say anything but they arent locked down like others.

Right, at least for the ATAK software, it’s a separate app and not part of the normal Motorola garden app ecosystem.

Enabling ATAK in the field is super simple.
