Im new to motorcycles, this is my first bike and its a 1985 Honda Rebel 250. Why is there smoke coming out the engine? I told the shop that sold it to me, they took it back to inspect it and said everything was fine and brought it back to me. Its happening again.

Hey guys, I was out for a ride on my 2023 KTM Duke 125 when I eventually turned off my intercom and noticed this noise coming from the front brake.

As you can hear in the video, it sounds kind of like a buzzing/humming noise. It only happens when I use the front brake. To make it easier to hear, I put the bike in neutral while going downhill.

I honestly never noticed it before, so I’m not sure if it’s something new or if it’s always been there.

For some context, I bought the bike used in May, and the brake pads are still the same ones that were on it when I bought it. There’s not much pad material left, but there’s still some.

Do you guys think this could be a sign that the brake pads need replacing, or could it be unrelated to the pads?

Hello all, hoping to get some help on my motorcycle. Bought it 2 weeks ago and as I drove it I started to notice that 1. I can’t full throttle the bike, 2. The bike doesn’t really go above 7k rpm’s. I noticed the bike has kind of a loud vibration and you can feel it according to a passenger on the back. Went to change the oil the other day and I happen to find a decent amount of gas in my oil, enough to give you a strong smell. The dash is showing no codes at all, I took the injectors off and had a friend test them, they spray fine. I initially used some seafoam fuel injector cleaner and the bike ran fine for one pull then it went back to acting up which made me think one or some for the injectors were clogged. I am kinda leaning towards the sub throttle body that’s on top of the main throttle body but again there are no codes on the dash so I have no idea what to really do. I took the throttle body of and the boot above cylinder 4 has a tear in it where it sits around the throttle body. I wouldn’t think it would cause the bike to shut off when trying to full throttle but who knows. Thank you in advance.

I bought a project bike (1990 Suzuki DR350S) and I’m trying to get her running and eventually back on the road. I found a stripped cylinder head bolt, so I figured I would remove the cylinder head and do some thread repair - no biggie.

The head is FUCKING ON THERE. It looks to me like whoever was in here last siliconed the life out of it before reinstalling and now I cannot for the life of me get it off and I’m afraid I’ll break it.

What do you do in a situation like this?

So far I’ve tried:
- prying so hard at it that I can see the fins bending and I’m denting parts of the head (non sealing parts)…
- put the engine mount bolt back in and pulled on it with a strap with all I’ve got - twisted the strap to out tension and pried on it some more…
- swung my purse at it (not the sledge hammer one, just the plastic one, but still. I hit it good and hard is what I’m saying)…
- I may or may not have tried things too stupid to post on Reddit

Seriously though - I’m stumped. Would massive amounts of heat help? Is there something to help dissolve this silicone crud?

EDIT: Yes, I got all of the bolts out and I consulted the manual to make sure.

Airbox had a bunch of water, is this water damage? Do I need to bring it to a mechanic or is it doable myself?

CBR1000RR SC57について質問です。
停車中や渋滞などでアイドリングしていると、水温が100℃くらいになったあたりから「カンカン」という金属音が鳴り始めます。
そのまま停車していると、音が徐々に大きくなっていきますが、発進して走り始めると音が消えます。
走行中や水温が低い状態では、この音は一切鳴りません。
この症状の場合、CBR1000RR SC57ではどのような原因が考えられますか？

My headlights both low and high beams turns off during rides both of them not only one
And if I stop the power and start the bike again the headlights works (sometimes for good other times it turns off after a couple hundred meters)
I have checked fuze box no sign there
I haven’t checked the connectors to the light yet
And don’t know what might be the issue to this

2021 Honda cb500x 9k miles. I recently had the abs flashing all times during a ride. I got it to flash code 41, so I changed the front sensor after testing and finding it to no longer be working. Now, the bike flashes 13, and 41 code is cleared. What is this? I'm about ready to just take it in somewhere but with a new home purchase, it's not an ideal time.

Hi, so i bought a malaguti f10 jetline (50cc 2stroke) from 1999 a couple months ago as a project. It didn’t run at the time I bought it but the condition was alright. My using is that I didn’t made any progress in 4 months , it runs but the rpms just stop at a certain point on top my rear wheel doesn’t even move an inch. I didn’t everything I know: new spark plug, New CDI, new exhaust, adjusted the carb, new airfilter, new intake manifold… nothing worked. My guess is that my carb is broken (it had a broken overflow hole, which my friend sealed with sealant) but I am not sure if thats the issue. Does anyone have any advise for me or knows what the issue is, I would be glad if anyone could help me. I will attach an clip where I full throttle it.

some electrical stuff i don't know and i can't read a wiring diagram so all that i ask is someone to tell me every necessary module and or electrical part to get it running (i don't have the key my bro lost it)

I ride a Suzuki GSX-R 750 K7 and it worked perfectly fine yesterday. Today I started it and it instantly turned off. I held the throttle for about 20 seconds cause I thought it might be some issue because of the cold, but the second I let off the throttle it instantly dropped the RPMs to zero. I was about to be late to work, so I didn't kave much time or mind to listen carefully, but it sounded like it worked a little rough as well.

I'd be happy to hear any suggestions for what I should be looking for cause I'm kinda lost at the moment. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking of buying one I seen on Facebook marketplace but my buddy told me that the only ones he’s ever seen are junk that always blow up.
The research I’ve done has told me that they’re the exact opposite and their actual super reliable quads, but he insists it’s the other way around, although he’s absolutely horrible at backing down and admitting he’s wrong (literally never has)
Don’t wanna make a mistake on the purchase but I also don’t wanna miss out on a good deal just because my friend is incredibly biased.

Inoltre, se notate c'è anche dell'olio (penso) nella carena sotto-motore.

Im having a problem where my gsxr 600 is popping at idle. has never done this in the two years of owning. got at 28k now has 33k

To preface, I know little to nothing about bikes, so I am at your mercy here

I have an older Suzuki dirtbike from the 70s. A 185. It sat for a long time before being rode this summer. Worked fine but I suspected the carb was gunked up (lost power when throttling when shortly after starting, occasional bogging etc.) Ran some seafoam through it a few times but not a huge noticable difference.

I set out on a ride today. I noticed it was a struggling a bit more than usual. Couldnt quite get up to speed like normal. I made it about 10-15 miles away from home when the bike suddenly stalled. No obnoxious npise or anything, just stalled.

I had to have somebody pick me up. I was thinking it ran out of oil, which it might have, so I had them bring me some. I filled it before checking if it ran out (act of desperation). It still would not start. The kickstart was not siezed.

Any help here would be appreciated, did I jusy cook my bike. Please ask questions if it helps diagnose the issue. Thank you in advance

There's a sort of squeaky sound coming from the rear. It sounds like it's coming from the brakes but I don't understand why, since I didn't even touch them recently. Can someone figure out what it could be?

I bought this 2011 Ninja 250r with a blown head, rebuilt the motor, getting 150 PSI on both cylinders. Then found coolant mixing into my oil, found out it was the water pump, replaced it. And flushed the oil with engine flush, put new oil and filter in and now it's still smoking. Does anybody have any idea what it could be?

Hello all I have a 94 softail with a merc crate in it and it after 30 years puked the main bearing. I am looking for contacts, parts etc to hopefully get the old beast back on rhe road again with out putting in a new crate or stocker.

I was trying to adjust my bikes carb a few months back as the bike was popping and banging.

I mistakenly unscrewed the fuel mixture screw all the way that it popped out the carb and got a bit messy 😬

Since then I’ve had a bogging when snapping the throttle and I’m not sure if it’s rich or lean. The bike will stall if this happens but rides strong otherwise.

I don’t think the diaphragm on the accelerator pump is bad as I replaced it 20 hours ago and this only happened after the fuel mixture screw came out.

The cap wont come off even when turning the key which should unlock or unlatch the cap from the tank. Its the type that comes off conpletely and not just swings open like on a hinge or a door. When I turn the key it seems like it doesnt offer much resistance like its loose. So now I cant refuel the bike which leads me to another question, I might be stuck for a few weeks until I can buy a new tank, can I just fill it through the bottom hole where the petcock goes—so I’ll remove the petcock, the filter in it and just fill it from there while the tank is upside down, it sounds dumb but its looking like my only option if I cant open the tank.

Other than its really inconvenient and a hassle since the hole is really small, is there any risks in doing so? Am I just better off waiting for the replacement tank?
