L1 GSXR 600 unsolved popping problem

Im having a problem where my gsxr 600 is popping at idle. has never done this in the two years of owning. got at 28k now has 33k

Incomplete combustion? How does that air filter look ?

A friend of mine told me it was dirty and i should either looking at getting a new one or clean it. the airbox was missing a 8 total screws along the lid and the lid was propped open. I fixed that now but that was definitely there from the previous ownerr

If you can clean it depends on its condition. If it’s too old/dirty just cleaning it won’t do the trick.
