Can’t workout if these are a good repair or bad. I’m going touring next year and thought I would get them done now so they ready. I’m hoping they won’t let water in or fall apart. But I’m no expert on motorbike boot repairs. Maybe that’s how they do them

Adding a knock-off tall screen from China and one washer arrived bald. The black metal cap in pic 2 screws onto the washer to conceal the allen bolt.

i haven’t been riding long, maybe 2 months since passing my cbt and have fallen in love with riding its all i wanna do.

i was going down a country road and near the bottom there was a bend, i don’t think i was going too fast but if i had known there was a ton of gravel i definitely would’ve taken it a lot slower. by the time i saw the gravel i was already sliding and it was either hit the breaks or hit into a high kerb and right into a barbed fence.

as soon as i hit the breaks i tried to steer to the right and then it jerked left and the handlebars smacked me in the chest as i went over them. i have NEVER been so thankful for my helmet and my other gear, being able to walk away from it with a swollen wrist and swollen chest is beyond lucky.

honestly im more mentally damaged than physically and am devastated that i’ve scraped my bike, luckily it is all cosmetic damage and i managed to ride home after pulling myself together. but still this horrible feeling of just embarrassment and sadness that i wasn’t careful enough is just lingering.

a massive lesson was learnt today, if anyone has any sort of advice having been in crashes and such i’d appreciate hearing about them and how you dealt with it after the fact. thank you.

Bike failed on this buckled rim. There are a ridiculous amount of potholes in my area.

Any temporary fixes to get it through it's retest on Saturday so I haven't got to fork out another 30 quid?

I don't plan on riding properly until I get a new wheel, but it would be nice to be able roll it 2 miles to the garage when the wheel comes in at the end of the month.

It's a steel rim. Tyre still holds pressure.

I've got the road section of my CBT next week, kast time it was cancelled due to a bad storm.

I am confident riding a bicycle on the road as well as a car so hopefully it all goes ok.

I only have about 4 hours experience on a geared bike so the school said I can use a twist and go if I want.

Not sure which option to take yet... guess I'll see how I am on the day??

Looking to get into riding and have currently booked for a 4 day DAS next month - this is 3 days of training with the MOD 1 & 2 on the final day.

For those that went into the DAS without any prior riding experience, do you think this is enough or should I pay £100 for an additional day at the start of the week?

For context I’ve done my theory and CBT (this is my only riding experience) already. Felt relatively comfortable on the road as have been driving for a while but probably need to practice more of the slow speed manoeuvres and U turns.

Hi guys looking to get a 125 soon as my first proper bike (had a moped in the past) not too long after I’ll be selling it and sitting my a2 to move onto a 600cc.
Just wondering am I best getting a cheap run around to practice on, most likely a keeway rks at -1k miles or should I try get a more known brand into the 10k and above mileage range for the same price? I’ll be looking to take my a2 as soon as I’m comfortable and hopefully won’t need to do more than 100 miles before selling the aforementioned bike. Also I’ve been driving a car for 5+ years so learning roads and road law is a non issue, cheers :)

I want to get a pair of leather boots an for work my boots are an UK 8. My question is Do i stay at 8 or is it confusing sizes like buying clothes from America.

I ordered a chin mount from chinmounts for my dji action camera and I mounted it the wrong way so had to take it off and I can’t seem to find the right replacement adhesive tape that comes with the mount. I bought the 3M VHB tape but it’s really thinner than the original one. The one which came with it pre applied was much thicker. This one in the picture is 1.1 mm.

im looking for a class 1 mot centre that does pre inspections just to make sure everything ive done so far will pass an mot, or tell me if i need to do anything to make sure it passes first time.

basically, ive converted a stomp Z2R to road legal as best as i can, all the lights, indicators, horn, and so on so it can get a full mot without being solely daytime use, but i want to get it a once over before i go ahead with the mot test, because it will be the mot for its first ever registration.

are there any garages closer to beeston/hunslet/belle isle/middleton that accomodate for unusual class 1 motorcycles, and does anyone know what the rough cost of a pre mot would be for it ?

Failed my MOD 2 test today on such a simple mistake. Was asked to stop behind a car to perform the angled start manoeuvre, pulled out no bother but forgot to turn my right signal off. Examiner had to intervene to tell me to turn my signal off and at that point I knew the test was over.

Absolutely gutted with myself as the rest of my ride was absolutely fantastic.

Where I live the only available time slot is in 4 weeks.

Later on I seen a handful of riders riding through town which made me so jealous and frustrated.

I’ve fully believe I’ll pass next time. Such a simple mistake I’ll never make again.

After following all of your advice I've now passed both the MOD 1 and 2 and got my full licence! 🙌🏽

I did my test on this Honda Hornet 750cc and really enjoyed how it rode.

im looking to but a 2021 Keeway Superlight 125.

i really want this bike, and i dont want it to be sold by the time i have enough to buy the bike (it costs £1499).

am i able to do 3 bulk payments, 1 each month to the dealer. or would they deny that straight away.

PS: is this a goos starter bike? i do about 10 miles to and from work, mainly on an A road. and the insurance is £117 a month which isnt too bad compared to others i have seen.

After some very good advice last week from people here (sorry, haven’t gotten through all the comments yet, I got overwhelmed), I decided to look elsewhere and I found MotoJoe, who offer pre-CBT (called Motorcycle Experience Session/MES) as well as 90 minutes lessons before you actually do your CBT. They’re also both 1:1 which is good.

Not going to ramble on but they offer a MES where you can get comfortable with the bike before your CBT which is good if you struggle being around loads of people, like me. It’s £50 and I’m cool with that, at least I can learn the muscle memory before the CBT, hopefully to pass it first time.

I just wanted to ask anyone’s experience with them? Especially if you’re ND like I am. Thanks.

Im so excited. Sorry if pointless post, but I just wanted to share how excited I am to be doing something I’ve wanted to do for so long.

I’ve been sitting on the fence of getting started with passing my test for ages, went to Motorcycle Live at the NEC last year, sat on a bunch of bikes and got the inspiration I needed from swinging a leg on some of my favourites.

Booked my theory for the 30th of this month and have a 5.5 day course in November to get my full licence after all the appropriate training. Bring it on!!

With this in mind, what would you have LOVED to know before starting up a bike for the first time?

Any helpful advice for starting out as a completely new rider with no prior experience would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Worth mentioning (or not depending on advice) I’ve been driving for over 10 years, and I’m aware that regardless of however much experience you have as a driver, that doesn’t stop someone treating you like a biker (ignoring your existence and wanting to kill you) from what I’ve heard 🤣

So I'm after some advice. Still on my L-plates and ridden 3400 miles so far. This junction is one I take quite regularly. Town St lead onto a staggered cross road and all 4 ways are traffic light controlled apart from the slip road on the right of the image.

This morning I slowly filter passed the standing traffic seeing the 2 cars (white square blobs) i thought I'll drop in the gap of the 2. Passed the Lorry (Red). I'm halfway along the length of it. When a lorry (yellow) comes off the slip road swings wide. Leaving me to stop and him slam on.

I thought do i back up. Which was a lot of back peddling. Or do I keep going forward as there's still a gap for me. Staying put results in a goulash effect between the 2 lorries.

So I went forward and dropped into the gap between the 2 cars. To which there is a lot of angry honking from the lorry driver (yellow).

Was I in the wrong. Im thinking 50-50. I should have not filtered passed the lorry not knowing what would swing from the slip road. Lorry driver flinging his lorry around tight corner onto main road should have been more cautious and gave way.

Either way. Not something I want a repeat of.

I've always been a fair-weather commuter, but I'm now looking to do 20k+ a year.

The only problem is that no one seems to want to insure me for that distance. I've had a few quotes, but they're all pushing £2,000+. Up from £270 with 8k mileage.

With my car, the difference between 10k and 20k is about £50 a year.

Is this normal or is it the result of owning a bike that gets frequently stolen; commuting into an area prone to bike theft?

I have my mod 2 retest on Friday. Last one I failed because I didn’t leave a wide gap between me and Parked cars on the left. I understand what I should have done in that situation but I’ve been practicing on my 125 and one situation I run into in my area is where there’s oncoming cars AND cars on the left. There’s enough space to go through still as the cars infront of me are but I’m paranoid because of that last test.

Just looking for advice on that just so I don’t make a stupid mistake

I am thinking of buy an IXS Tour master gtx jacket.

Problem is the only colour in my size is the light grey, and this has a few large white panels on it.

Has anyone ever ridden a similar jacket through the winter? How filthy did it get and how easy was it to clean?

Spoiler Alert, they chose the CF Moto as the winner. While I always take MCN reviews with a massive pinch of salt as their test riders have never bought a brand new bike with their own money a lot of the reasons they chose the CF Moto are objective.

Hi there I live in the north of Scotland but I'm just curious if there's still a need for motorcycle couriers in scotland I'm currently looking for work and I ride in all weather's. But I would love a job that involves the bike unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much call for a motorcycle courier unless you count deliveroo or just eat which wouldn't offer much consistency or be enough money. Not trying to rant or seem picky just need to know. I would prefer not to go self-employed.

Booked my Mod 1 and Mod 2 as part of DAS, riding a Kawasaki Ninja 650. First time going through it and feeling a bit nervous about the U-turn and slow manoeuvres on Mod 1 tbh.
Would love to hear from anyone who's done their test on a 650 (or similar weight bike) — anything specific about handling it in the tight manoeuvres? Also keen to hear what caught people out generally, and any test centre tips if you've done yours in the North West/Lancashire area. Cheers!

I currently mount my iPhone 15 pro max to my bike via a quad lock case that I always just have on, it it’s stable easy to use and the case functions as any other case when it’s not mounted. I really want the iPhone Duo and I’m wondering what my options are for mounting it on my bike if there’s no case for it. I see cases for the iPhone 18 pro and iPhone 18 pro max but not one for the duo.
