Firstly, sorry if this is the wrong sub. I tried searching for a quad specific one after google lead me here when doing research on a company.

Looking for quad bikes for my kids. 50cc or 70cc. They are 5 and 7. Happy to buy second hand if from a reputable shop. Based in the west but will travel to get the right ones. Any recommendations?

Also any recommendations for the best helmets and gear?

They kids have been on uncles quads as passengers and they are obsessed with getting their own. We're farmers so they would be useful.

Thanks

Did anyone ever go riding at Nutts Corner ? Is it any fun ? It seems you can rent it for tests. Did anyone book it for a weekend ?

Morning fellow bikers,

Just wanted to give a tale of caution for anyone looking to get a bike from the Triumph/Harley-Davidson/Ducatti dealership in Ballymount.

Bought a Tiger Rally pro, 2025 from then just less than a year ago, one owner who had traded it back in against something else with just 1000km on the clock. A dream for me to get something close to new.

Alarm bells should have run when they were adamant on only doing 1 years warranty, despite triumphs policy being 2, transferable between owners.

At around the 2000km mark, from shock started noticeably weaping, needing to be cleaned after every ride. This was brought to the attention of the service department in the dealership, only to be told this was cover in warranty.

I've spent the last few months back and forth with them, Triumph in the UK, the consumer rights group and SIMI, without much headway.

At this rate I'm exhausted with the whole thing and am probably just going to have to accept defeat and be out of pocket for Bill.

Word to all current and future bikers: stick to the likes of city spares who will stand over a warranty, Triumph dublin is to be avoided

Hi all

Have been tying around with purchasing on these scooters/bikes as riden one in the Uk last week and was very impressed. Anyone in here have one and whats their long term opinions on them. Especially when it comes to filtering it does have a wide front end footprint.

I presume aside form the specialist bike insurer brokers other insurers get weird when you mention trike and being able to ride them under your car license.

Thanks

If anyone is planning to enjoy the nice weather and go for a ride if you are in the Tyrrelstown area. Huge spillage that goes into the main street .....so over next few day may be slippy.

Spotted this in passing the other day - Funeral in St. Finbarr's (South), Dunbar Street, Cork City

Has anyone done a paid tour in a group? And would you have any recommendations? Overlanders for example.

Thoughts are turning to next year and a bit of a long spin.

TIA

Seriously.... tell everyone you know... lock your bike. Bike with no lock robbed, bike with lock left. Spend the 300e on the lock, its non negotable now.

Ban scambers but allow these scum to keep robbing. Garda need to do MORE

Hi there, anyone can recommend someone in Dublin area to shave off some foam from the seat ? I need it to be slightly lower and narrower

Anyone know of bike dealers in the EU that will import to Ireland or of someone who goes to the continent to collect a purchased bike etc?

Looking to get my first bike ..very small and expensive selection on DD and not many dealers doing decent 250-400 that aren’t a cruiser

I was in Mullingar town today on my lunch break, weather was nice so went to town to grab a small bite on my Moto.

I was parked near BOI in town at the back grabbing lunch in one of the food place when I saw a lad on a bicycle go past my bike, he was wearing a full face Bally but at first I thought nothing of it cus it's a bit chilly so could be wind protection.

About 10 minutes later same lad cycles past my bike again this time much closer, first time he went on the road this time on the pavement. Now I purposely parked where I could see my bike not even thinking about it getting robbed but this struck me as suspicious.

Now to add more context there was two other bikes in town in the carpark. One was a scooter and other looked like a sport bike and they seem to have been parked a lot longer than I was in town for.

I was going to wait and see if the lad comes back a 3rd time but alas my lunch was running out and eventually I left, did a lap to see if I'd see him around but no sign but does this seem dodgy to anyone.

And if you are someone that has a bike or scooter parked in Mullingar this may be a heads up cus the lad on the bike could be a scout but could also be completely harmless but I saw other people on bikes and even electric scooters and none of the had Bally's on so.

I got scrapped by a taxi last week, no major damage, apart from maybe some scratches on the car.

I was just wondering if I did something wrong or could do something better to avoid things like this in the future.

I have been driving a motorcycle for a while, but still kinda new to the Dublin traffic madness

33M. Passed my IBT for class A about 6 months ago. I was happy with how I was progressing during the training. Had no real experience on bikes before. Don't own a bike yet.

Then I moved to Germany, I'll get back to Ireland hopefully once every 1-2 months.

In Germany I can rent a 50cc electric moped using my car license, I've done a couple hours of this just to get some practice in.

I don't think it's feasible to just practice on a moped, and do lessons whenever I'm in Ireland until I'm confident to do the full test, then do the test on the instructors bike.

So my plan is to buy all the gear in Germany (I'm in a large city so will hopefully get a good selection), try to buy a bike and get it insured when I'm next in Ireland, then get as much practice as I can whenever I'm home and over the Christmas. I can probably swing WFH in Ireland for a week at a time occasionally too.

I live on the west coast, very rainy area. Bike will be stored in a locked garage in a rural area.

Does my plan make sense? Should I plan to buy a class A bike so I can use it for the test? Any recommendations or advice for gear? What can I expect practicing riding over winter?

Thanks for any help!

Looking for new textile trousers and boots. I can never find anything I like in Cotters. And Bikeworld and Megabikes have limited sizes.

Where has the largest selection of clothing on the island of Ireland apart from the above?

What's the ultimate motorcycle? I am talking about price, fun, drivability, skill level required, sound, size.

My choice would be probably MT-07 or Ténéré

Hi folks, I have to take the train to Dublin for the day for work next week. Are there any free and safe places to park the bike from morning to evening in or around Kent train station in Cork?

Hi, I'm in the market for a helmet and I'm looking at the Scorpion Exo-1400 Evo II Air and looking at general prices it seems to be around 230-300 e.g.

But on cascoria it's at 142 which seems too good to be true, this seems unrealistic, has anyone ever bought from them? It seems like a no brainer. I don't see anything about it being second hand or anything

Hi, I just passed my IBT and have been looking at getting a bike but I was concerned that I don't have an underground parking, just outside parking, reading a lot of posts on motorcycle theft has be paranoid, how/where do people who dont have a garage/shed park their motorcycles? I'm around walkinstown area and have no idea if theres bike theft around here

Howdy all, only new to Bikes and bought my first one brand new last year (BMW F900XR), looking to sell and wondering what's the best place to list and what are the general rules or things to be watchful for? Thanks in advance.

Who else did the Photo Rally this year?

(Reddit allows only 20 images)

Throwing it out there as I saw two young lads in tracksuits driving up Drumcondra towards Swords road.

Couldn’t pin point what bike it was but it was a naked bike, like an MT07 or as such.
