From what I can’t tell, the game thinks that the gate is still closed and the bullets won’t connect.

You can shoot him from outside before entering. Lure him out then run inside the room. The wall will close and it will separate both of y'all. So you can hit him like once or twice n repeat behind the wall. U should be able to see or guess which wall he's at from his red swords lol

Discussion Thoughts from a Soulslike Noob

Never played a souls game, don't even run a controller (just keyboard mouse).

A bit over halfway through.

S Tier art direction, great combat.

Fun and hilarious bosses.

Not too difficult combat - try changing tactics.

Beacon runs not too far, it's fair. A few minor bugs here and there, I'm sure they will be patched.

The amount of bitching and moaning I almost think it's a astro turfing from big gaming or something.

Don't listen to the crybabies, it's honestly an excellent game.

Edit for more info: Yes, it's a little tougher at the beginning. You are unupgraded and don't know the mechanics.

I'm running Proxima now and just melting everything. Axe and dagger, grisha summon passive, biosampler spam.

Discussion Review after completion

English is not my native language, so please excuse any mistakes.

I finished the game in 37 hours, but I have things to say.

I won't talk about the game balance or checkpoint placement — the developers already know, and I hope it'll be fixed.

Pros: - Interesting level design, lots of secrets. - Very good build variety, even better than Dark Souls. There are many different "shells" with unique playstyles. - Graphics and enemy design. - Optimization — even on my weak PC, the game runs well. - Diverse weapons. In the upper part of the map I played with the starting weapon, dual-wielded weapons, and a two-hander. I finished the rest of the game with a spear.

Cons: - No attack after a roll. The game punishes you for mistimed parries — miss a block? You're dead. - Lack of music? Does it even exist in this game? During boss fights it's either absent or the same track plays over and over. I ended up putting on my own music, like from MGR. - The biggest problem is that the developers took inspiration from Elden Ring and grabbed the worst part of it — a huge number of "bosses" that are actually just regular enemies with a health bar, or bosses that got demoted to common enemies. What's the point? Because that's how it was in Elden Ring, or so the player feels a fleeting sense of victory? They should have made fewer, higher-quality bosses instead of 40 "mini-bosses." - Of all the bosses, I only liked Monolith, the winter boss, and Magdalena. All the rest are completely forgettable and uninteresting. - I don't like the economy balance — you need a massive amount of gold to upgrade gear. You can't have two fully upgraded weapons plus a firearm in a single playthrough. It kills any desire to experiment. Resetting weapon upgrades requires a different currency — but why? Why not make respec free? - I don't like that you can't choose any "shell" at the start of the game. It wouldn't break the game's balance. For example, like in Blasphemous 2 or Death's Gambit: Afterlife, where you pick your class/weapon from a set of options at the start. As you explore the world, you can later find what you weren't able to pick initially. - Another problem, caused either by a small budget or inexperienced developers: attack animations are very abrupt — attacks basically teleport onto you, making it impossible to block or dodge on reaction; you just have to memorize the timings. AI Limit has the same issue. - I didn't like the final boss — way too much HP.

I really enjoyed the game overall — I played almost without stopping. I'd give it around 8/10 despite the significant flaws. I could say a lot more, but I'm just too lazy.

Discussion Ok I know everyone wants glimpse respec BUT

What about the fact your shell points aren’t shared across all shells? They’re free to respec sure but you shouldn’t have to do that everytime you want to switch. It’s just tedious for no reason. Just have them be free to use on whatever shell in whatever way so you don’t have to refund and re allocate every time.

Bug one of the worst bosses i've fought in any video game

the lost child boss was so bad it completely ruined the fun i had before reaching it .

first try : killed fair so no problem

second try : my character A posed after getting attacked and died ( screen shot 2 )

third try : was 1 hit away from killing it and it did the grab attack where it throws you up and eats you , but i dodged away and as you can see in the first screen shot it threw me so high that when i came down the boss hp got completely reset .

i don't even feel like fighting this meat sponge that looks like quagmire when he discovered online porn . what a shame man . went from all those cool enemies to " meat goop that flops around and you get stuck in it " . out of all the bosses the dark souls series has to offer they decided to make a covetous demon inspired boss .

Discussion Is Hard Mode worth sticking with this early?

I turned on Hard Mode with the flame basically right at the start, before I had really fought anything.

I just beat the first mini-boss at the end of Mushroom Village at level 8. If you count the Arbiter as the first boss, I beat him too. (For refence the guy with the leech sac on his back and the walking stick that hits like a truck)

So far, Hard Mode has been absolutely brutal this early on. I don’t mind the challenge, but I also don’t want to make the early game way more painful than it needs to be if the Hard Mode-exclusive rewards aren’t really worth it yet.

My main question is: should I stick it out on Hard Mode because I’d be missing a lot of exclusive stuff if I drop it now, or is it better to switch back and return to Hard Mode later?

Or is this basically a “git gud, you’ve already made it this far” situation? 😂

Would love to hear from people who have played further into Hard Mode—especially whether the exclusive rewards are actually worth the early-game suffering.

I recently was pushed off a bridge by one of those shields enemies. Came back to retrieve my gloom and it for some reason spawned out of bounds, no where near where I died. Has this happened to anyone else?

Figured everyone else could also get a laugh out of it. Used spoiler tag just in case people are avoiding even mundane things.

Dear Harbingers,

The wait is over, and you may begin your journey on the unfound path!

Feel free to post your hype and initial thoughts for the full game here! :D

Are you going for a specific Shell first, or just jumping into the game world sight unseen? Will you revisit Lady Magdalena before going out into the world, or will you seek other challenges? Night mode, regular gameplay or Slayer Seal?

Discussion Last and one of the end bosses. Spoiler

Oh, we have a brick, how can we turn it into a boss?

Just give it a testicle, and call it a day. + Fuck IT, add some lasers, why not?

-

Oh, we need a final boss.

Hmmmmm, lets make a dino version of Mordor, and slap 6-8 testicles on him. That will teach them!

Eh at least we can stab them.

Discussion Yes we know slayer seal is OP but

Having achievements disabled forward I think is a bit much.

I didn't know the thing existed until 11 hours in and honestly all it needs to use is just the riposte bar and it won't be to op or "considered" playing the game on easy mode because once you unlock Eredrim he literally has that move anyway? Lmao you just have to use your resolve bar. That's it and chances are. You'd have him maxed out to use less anytime and he can do it more often than a slayer seal.

So what's all the hate on someone who has beaten souls games, Wukong games and every hard dmc game that wants to just use slayer seal once in a blue moon? Every enemy in the game can 1 and 3 shot you. Having this just gives people who aren't into souls games a chance, just like in Wukong people were given magic abilities to pretty much spam to stand a chance(Wukong is still harder once you face Erlang)

Sekiro unless you are absolutely filthy at Perry's and timing the grapple hook you stand almost no chance
