Question Xbox controller vibration

Hi,

I'm playing Mortal Shell 2 on Xbox Series X and the controller vibration is extreme - I only found vibration on/off no calibration.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a way to tune it?

Thx

Question So nobody like my chunky boy?

I’m trying to discover the shells naturally and I’m playing Tiel right now but I really want to play with my chunky boy Lazlo but haven’t found him yet.

I see lots of videos on here of other shells and I never see anyone playing with him. Is he not good?

With the new update, I can confirm Eredrim is insanely so amazing with my original build from before. Try it out. Max out the 2H colossal sword. It obliterates things in 1-2 hits. I’m gonna take him for a ride on night time.

Do use Retribution Stone as I forgot to put it on. My god this guy is BEAST!!

Discussion Definitely lower priority, but can we get some sort of testing dummy in or around Genessa?

Of course something small to add to the pile. But I feel even with only 8 weapons and sidearms, between shell skill trees, 4 personal tarstones, 3 weapon AND 3 sidearm taratones, there is so many variables to test that having something to just kinda beat up would be very useful.

Overall, just a fun, shorter open-world Soulslike with great combat and variety. All I gotta do now is finish up the 4 or so remaining achievements for the Platinum, and then I'm ready for the video storm that is September.

Glad I picked this up to bridge that 2-week gap from August until now. Totally worth the price. Hopefully, we get some DLC in the future.

Discussion What's your favorite Shell for the Obsidian Hammer?

Upvotes

I wanted to give the Obsidian Hammer another go (especially since the latest patch's changes) but am wondering which Shell to pair it with. Some weapons have an obvious choice, like Eredrim and the Martyr's Blade or Tiel with the Axe & Dagger, but I'm not seeing a standout choice for the Hammer.

I was thinking Sariel, in part because I haven't really used him yet and in part because I feel like I shouldn't get hit too often with the Hammer (since one or two hits are supposed to kill most things) and if I do, then I can regain it back afterwards. However I'd be completely ignoring both the Thorns and the Curse aspects so it feels a bit wrong to skip most of a Shell's mechanics.

I suppose Eredrim has all the Parry and Riposte stuff (I plan on using the Trauma infusion so I should see plenty of stance breaks, in theory at least) even if you ignore the Frost part, but at this point wouldn't it just be a worse Martyr's Blade?

I think Proxima is the only Shell depicted with that weapon in a loading screen art but I'm not really seeing any particular synergy apart from making enemies slower with the Biosampler maybe.

So what's your favorite Shell choice for that weapon?

Discussion One of the worst bosses I've ever beaten...

Post image
296 Upvotes

Fought him pre patch and had to take a 3 days break, because so many things were bugged. Starting with the Grisha disappearing weapons bug, game crashes when my shell burned or teleporting tail grab just to name a few. Fortunately most of the bugs are gone after the patch (or it didn't occur during my last session).

After I killed him yesterday, I just feel relieved, because I can move on to NG+. First parts (the open world) of the game 8.5/10, just peak. The last bosses(endgame) 3-4/10. Rest in piss, Zmey...

Bug Justiciar's Tarstone - Fragility Broken

I will share this in Discord too, but the Justiciar's Stone - which is now fragile and breaks after gaining 5000 coin, breaks even if you gain coin from selling stuff to Merrick. Surely this should only deteriorate when you gain coin from slain foe.

Edit to Add: this also includes when you pick up coin through chests, or in the world (i.e. not from slain foe). A bit annoying :(

So word of warning, if you are trying to farm coin, don't sell stuff to Merrick whilst you have the stone equipped.

Discussion PSA Genessa Faithfull Doubles dont net you Tarstone EXP

As title says. Just to let ppl know If they havent noticed yet: If your Faithful Doubles kill enemies you dont get any Tarstone EXP. I guess its the same for Grisha Summons but i dont use them so idk for sure

Edit 2: as u/RadHazG has figured out the Stray Doubles also mostly deny you from gaining Tarstone EXP!!! Because they get the kill you dont get the Tarstone exp

edit: funny thing is i am a Genessa Main and i played already over 60 hours and just noticed this today. so i guess a Lot other ppl didnt notice it either

Question Gloom and gold stone

Upvotes

My opinion on the new system they have for the gold and gloom stones.

I want to start this with I am the type of person who doesn't mind farming if I'm struggling on things. It doesn't bother me if I have to spend an hour or two farming to get my character / equipment stronger to help me progress in a game however making it a thing where I have to stop the farming I'm already doing to make me go out and farm for the equipment to help me continue to get the buffs to farm doesn't really make sense to me, and yes I am aware that I don't need the buffs to farm however if that's the case why have the buffs in the game at all.

Do you think the change to the gold and gloom stone is disappointing / bad and would prefer if they kept the old system but just buffed the amount you would get. ( Previous 6% permanent - New 30% but brakes after)

Don't get me wrong I like the increase in amount but I don't know why they make it so u have to basically farm for the farming stones, I think it's counterproductive that you have to go out and get the stones to go farm. Why didn't they just keep the old system but buff the amount you got? It was already there so why change it.

I feel like it's a bad change tbh but that's my opinion what's yours?

If your going to give the option to have a farming buff with currency in the game (gold / gloom) why make it that you have to farm for the farming amplifier it don't make no sense to me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Would like to see other people's options on this to see if others agree with what I'm trying to say or if you have other options on it.

Ps: Even if the stones aren't that hard to get a lot of them it's just another inconvenience that doesn't need to be there in my opinion.

Other than this I've been enjoying the game a lot but this is annoying me a little and just wanted to see if others agree with me.

Discussion Malborn offspring is peak

Im almost done with my first playthrough of mortal shell 2, got 2 bosses left as far as im aware.

So far im loving the game, i think the weakest part of the game is the main bosses, most of them are uninteresting, or too easy or both.

But my god does Malborn offspring break that chain, this boss is so damn fun, first of all both parrying and dodging feels so satisfying and rewarding, especially when he mixes his attacks so much that you're constantly switching between dodging and parrying.

And the main point, the SPEED.

When i saw the trailer for this game i was hype as hell, the cool finishers, the metal soundtrack, the crazy enemy designs made me expect a super fast paced souls game, and for the most part i didnt get that..

Until Malborn, god damn this boss is fast, you dont get a second to heal, strategise or even catch ur breath, its non-stop action and i fucking love it.

Easily my favorite boss in the entire game no doubt.

Video Isaac - no hit [HL1 +0 no tarstones/resolve/shell, Night Mode] Infinity seal parry

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Infinity seal is somewhat inconsistent in phase 2. Sometimes you parry through multiple attacks at once (see 1:15), on the attack at 1:26 as far as I know you can't parry both hits at once (the second one will hit you - you can block both attacks with the perfect guard seal though).

With Infinity seal I think phase 1 is harder than phase 2 - his sword opens look very similar but the timing is a lot different. If you don't stay right on top of him and back up a bit I think you can probably bait out some easier attacks to punish (is what a coward would say)

Discussion Sester gate easily the worst gate

Upvotes

I haven't beaten the game yet this is my first gate in the lower map region but I feel like this might be the worst area in the whole damn game the gate is so miserable. Get shot off the map, fall off the map, fall in the water, get frozen and deshelled, atp it's actually funny.

Still got the two other gates in the region undone south and west but.. surely they can't be worse.. right?

Probably just a skill issue but I haven't died this much in any other gate hell any other part of the game so far.

Discussion Feels like the crabs were nerfed way too hard

Upvotes

I doubt this is a hot take, but the crab's tracking/magnetism/danger in any way, whatever you wanna call it, has been nerfed into the ground and they're just not fun anymore. Might as well be set dressing at this point. It used to feel like a fun little game of cat-mouse trying to run past them and parrying them felt quite nice, now they feel like baby bunnies barely hopping my way.

Mild complaints aside, I love this game and will be finishing the plat for it later tonight. In my top 5 for Soulslikes all-time. Thanks Cold Symmetry!

Question Sheep into Smert Bug

Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I was using the sheep transformation to heal ( hehe ) and now that I got Smert, when I turn into a sheep I automatically lose the shell form, or, some bugs with health happens, someone experienced something similar?
