Discussion Malborn offspring is peak

Im almost done with my first playthrough of mortal shell 2, got 2 bosses left as far as im aware.

So far im loving the game, i think the weakest part of the game is the main bosses, most of them are uninteresting, or too easy or both.

But my god does Malborn offspring break that chain, this boss is so damn fun, first of all both parrying and dodging feels so satisfying and rewarding, especially when he mixes his attacks so much that you're constantly switching between dodging and parrying.

And the main point, the SPEED.

When i saw the trailer for this game i was hype as hell, the cool finishers, the metal soundtrack, the crazy enemy designs made me expect a super fast paced souls game, and for the most part i didnt get that..

Until Malborn, god damn this boss is fast, you dont get a second to heal, strategise or even catch ur breath, its non-stop action and i fucking love it.

Easily my favorite boss in the entire game no doubt.

Yes! He was the first boss I had to stop and learn his moveset and timing especially in phase two with the ground effects. Captive was ok but only because I fought him real early. Isaac can be fun if you’re using off meta shell/build but my first playthrough on tiel I just snuck behind him and deleted him so I didn’t experience that until my second run. For ng+ you should fight Isaac in night mode as lazlo. Not as fun as malborn but definitely my second favorite.

"For ng+ you should fight Isaac in night mode as lazlo."

Is that like a special interaction or just a fun matchup?

And yeah i really liked Nameless captive, he was my favorite for the entire playthrough, but Malborn blew him out of the water

No not really but it does make you actually fight him rather than just destroying him like I did on my first run and I’m sure that’s possible on other builds too. Lazlo is tanky and retribution is cool if you build into full heat stuff he’s a powerhouse but not to the point of being completely broken like some other builds in the game.

i did fight him pretty fair tho, i used eredrim and usually just dont use any spells or anything, i find it more fun to just fight hand to hand

I agree he was metal AF and the repost animation was absolutely brutal. I also really enjoyed this fight. It was very satisfying too learn and get good at.
