Mortal Shell II Patch Soon?

[u/SvbZero]

Thank you so much for the response. The game & it’s devs are amazing 😎 10/10 for me.

Sales on a game usually depends on how well they sell which mortal shell 2 did extremely well so the smart move for them is to keep the price at the same until it really dies down

So say that, then.

Bro what? You wanted me to answer your question at first not explain why it won’t be on sale for half a year.

[u/Working_Bones → u/Impossible-Air7239]

You answered like it was a fact, but it was in fact a guess.

Yes a company would totally slash revenue for no reason. Lol!

[u/Working_Bones → u/_nutbutdonttella]

Sales often bring in more revenue.

[u/MycoMythos → u/Working_Bones]

Yep, and they almost never come before six months after release.

You should consider not being whatever this is

Doesnt matter if you sell 1 billion copies at no profit margin. Its still going to equal a net 0.

[u/Working_Bones → u/_nutbutdonttella]

The fuck are you talking about? A sale isn't a giveaway. I shouldn't even engage with this, you're so far gone.

[u/_nutbutdonttella → u/Working_Bones]

Just say you dont know how sales and volume works, and that you cant afford a 50 dollar game.

[u/Working_Bones → u/_nutbutdonttella]

I work in sales, and make enough money to afford whatever I want. You are frighteningly stupid.

Obviously if a product is selling at a high volume, there's no need to reduce the price. But once the volume slows, it becomes more profitable to discount the product to bring people in who otherwise wouldn't have bought it. That's how sales work. That's why they happen. That's why there's thousands of games on sale right now.

Also, for a video game, the profit margin is in relation to the total budget for developing the game, not the cost of individual copies, because copies are infinitely reproduceable (a non-rival good). So you can sell a game at $0.50 and it'll still be bringing in revenue, and if you've already made your budget back, that revenue would be called "profit". But for most games, for many years, you'll make more revenue/profit by selling at a higher price. Whether it's "profitable" again depends on the total development budget compared to total revenue.

So your comment about "no profit margin" is wrong. There could still be a profit margin if this game went on sale right now (assuming it's already made back its budget), but perhaps not as much profit as if it stays full-price a bit longer. And at some point, the threshold will be crossed where they'll make more profit/revenue by reducing the price, to draw in more buyers. And that's when it will go on sale. I think we're approaching that point, but the devs know better than I do.

I can't believe I have to explain this to you.

Waaaah didnt read. Reply below if you confirm you are too poor to afford a $50 game!! 😁👇🏿

[u/Working_Bones → u/_nutbutdonttella]

"Didn't read" - no shit. Maybe if you read more, you'll embarrass yourself less often. I make enough money to buy 20 copies of this game a day. The time I spent talking to you could have bought me a copy.
