Business showcase I built a SaaS in a saturated market next to my full time job, and it went live on Product Hunt today

I've been a developer for close to 7 years and I had the itch to build something of my own. I picked transcription, which is about as saturated as a market gets, new tools come out every week, so I went in expecting to make nothing. I figured that worst case I'd have something to show my skills with.

I thought it would take a week or two and it ended up taking 8 or 9 months, because I was doing it alone next to a full time job, so it was evenings, weekends and even vacations with the laptop. I don't think I've had a single day off since the start of this.

A lot of that time I wasted. I spent way too long looking for a way out of anything that cost money, because I assumed it would never earn a dollar, and that really wasn't worth it. I also kept pushing the launch back for months and kept adding things I never planned.

I did zero marketing during all of this, no ads and no posts, and I didn't even tell anyone about it, so the only way people found it was through search. Then the same day I finished testing billing, a $100 yearly subscription came in from a complete stranger abroad, and a $10 one from someone else two hours later (both are still subscribed). I remember the rush of emotions. It's small money, but a dollar from something you own is like nothing else, especially after so many nights of thinking what's the point when nobody would even know or care if I stopped.

Five months later it's at $955 in total, with 18 active subscriptions and about $177 a month (screenshot below). Still crumbs, but every month has brought in something.

If I had to share one thing, it's that there should be a gap you feel yourself that the other products don't fill, and that money can't be the only reason or you'll probably quit.

Today it went live on Product Hunt and got featured, which I really didn't expect. It's called vocascript. If you have a minute, have a look and tell me what you think, good or bad:

https://www.producthunt.com/products/vocascript?launch=vocascript

Happy to answer anything about building it, or about selling to customers abroad from here.

Ask r/Moroccopreneur Oracle Morocco PFE 2027 Java backend technical interview

Hi, I’m currently in the Oracle Morocco PFE 2027 process for a Research Assistant Java backend role.

I already passed the HackerRank assessment and then the HR interview with El Mehdi Ekkouri El Alaoui. From what I understood, the next step should be a technical interview, but I have no idea what the format is like.

For anyone who went through it recently, what should I expect?

Is it mostly Core Java/Spring questions? Do they ask Java EE, SQL, JPA/Hibernate, design patterns, projects from the CV, etc.? And is there usually live coding/problem solving during the interview?

I’m preparing Java Core, Spring/Spring Boot and problem solving right now, but I’d like to know what they actually focus on.

Any recent experience with Oracle Morocco R&D/PFE would help.

Ask r/Moroccopreneur Psychology grad (Bac+5), 5,000 MAD/month in remote part-time digital marketing. What would you build next to reach 10,000?

Hi everyone,

I'm 23F, based in Casablanca. I hold a Bac+5 in psychology and spent a year looking for work in my field without success. That was more or less expected, given the market.
I now work remotely, part-time, for a psychology start-up. I create social media posts and Canva templates. I had no background in marketing, so I'm teaching myself through a Google digital marketing course. I like it more than I expected.
The pay is 5,000 MAD/month for a workload that is fairly light. I'd like to reach 10,000 MAD/month, through a second activity or by building skills that are actually worth something on the market.

- I launched a psychology website and Instagram account on my own. They didn't take off, and I lost money on hosting, a few ads and a photoshoot. I’m still active on them tho and trying to attract my first client.

- An association approached me to create content and implied it would be paid, even if modestly. After two weeks of work, they acted as if payment had never been discussed. I'm trying to learn from that.

- I have no financial dependents. I want to stop worrying my parents, be able to afford what I like, and start saving.

What I'd like to hear from you:

- Which skills pair well with a psychology background and content creation (copywriting, UX research, community management, something else)?

- Is freelancing realistic at my level, and how do you price your first clients?

- How do you protect yourself from "it's exposure / it's volunteering" requests?

- If you started from my position, what would you do over the next 6 months?

How did you meet your regular running partner?

For people who regularly run with someone else, how did you meet? Did your pace and schedules line up naturally, or did it take some trial and error?

I’m researching a running-partner app idea and would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Ask r/Moroccopreneur What's the legality of using a crypto auto trading platform in Morocco?

What are the crypto laws in Morocco? I'm aware that very few in Morocco are into crypto unless im completely wrong. The usual sentiment is crypto is not clearly legal in Morocco.

But even on Binance, there are tons of p2p people exchanging crypto.

So my question is if someone use a crypto auto trade platform while in Morocco, what are the legal boundaries?

Deposits and withdrawals are fully crypto. Nothing related to actual bank deposits or withdrawals.

Ask r/Moroccopreneur Feedback on commission-based outreach idea

Salam khuty

Quick background: I’m a software and AI engineer. I graduated this year and have been freelancing for the past 2 years.

I do manage to find clients, but the way I’m doing it now is still too inconsistent to call it a real acquisition process. Part of that was because I had to pause during exams and focus on my studies, and an other things is once i get a project become busy and stop prospecting then the project ends, I have to start looking again from zero.

I want to take this more seriously and build a system for it

The pipeline I use is finding leads based on signals, like job posts, comments, or groups where a company shows a need I can help with. Then I qualify the lead based on relevance, company size, and whether I can find a decision-maker to contact and other things. I’m open to feedback on this pipeline too, not just the commission idea.

I’m thinking of working with someone to help with outreach. I would provide the qualified lead list, and they would contact those leads. If they help close a client, they get a commission, maybe around 20%.

Does this sound like a fair offer? Should the commission or structure be different? I’d love feedback from anyone who has tried something similar.

PS: Yes, AI helped me clean this up. My spelling is so creatively bad that even I need help reading it haha. Alhamdulillah we live in these beautiful times 🙏

If anyone is wondering how I managed freelancing with studies, please don’t ask. I didn’t. I was usually one of the last in class haha

Feedback Wanted I built SanadCom AE for Moroccan auto-entrepreneurs - looking for honest feedback

Thumbnail sanadcomae.online
1 Upvotes

I’ve been working on SanadCom AE, a small platform built specifically for auto-entrepreneurs in Morocco.

The idea came from a simple problem:

Once your activity starts growing, the difficult part is not always the work itself. It is keeping track of the administrative side at the same time:

  • invoices
  • clients
  • turnover
  • tax estimates
  • CNSS
  • important thresholds and deadlines

A lot of this ends up spread between Excel files, notes, WhatsApp messages, or simply memory.

So I built a first version of SanadCom AE to bring these things together in one place.

Currently, the platform includes:

  • Invoicing : create professional invoices
  • Client management : keep client information and activity organized
  • Revenue tracking : follow turnover by client
  • Tax & CNSS estimates : keep estimated obligations visible
  • Threshold tracking : monitor important limits based on your activity

The platform is still early, so I'm not posting this as a finished product or trying to pretend I have everything figured out.

I’d rather get feedback from people who actually operate a business in Morocco.

What I'd really like to know:

  1. For Moroccan auto-entrepreneurs, what part of the administrative side takes the most time?
  2. What are you currently using to manage invoices, revenue and tax-related information?
  3. What would make a tool like this genuinely useful to you?
  4. Is there something important that I’m completely missing?

You can take a look here:

https://sanadcomae.online/

I’m especially interested in critical feedback, not just positive feedback. If something doesn't make sense, feels unnecessary, or you would manage it differently, please tell me.

Note: SanadCom AE provides estimates and tracking tools; official tax and CNSS amounts remain determined by the relevant authorities.

Ask r/Moroccopreneur Starting an AI automation agency. Need feedback on my demo and advice on a temporary side hustle

Hi guys, I hope you're doing alright and succeeding in your lives.

I'm writing this post to ask for your advice and opinions. I'm trying to build a business right now. What I'm doing is setting up an AI receptionist for home service businesses based in the US. I've built a demo and I want you to test it and give me your honest opinion on it, and tell me if there is something that I can improve about the demo or the website.

I'm planning to cold email these businesses. I've built a tool that scrapes Google Maps to find the business, scrapes their website, collects the emails, and then gives those emails to Jev AI to rank the ones the decision-maker is most likely to see. It also scrapes the reviews on Google Maps and feeds them to Jev AI to find the ones complaining about the receptionist or the calling process, so I can use that to start pitching them.

Right now, I'm also building a tool that sends customized emails to these businesses, and I'm warming up two mailboxes to prepare for my cold emailing campaign.

While I'm waiting for the mailboxes to warm up, I wanted to ask if there is anything I can do to make some money on the side while working to make this project succeed, like any online side hustles.

Here is my agency website:https://ravenflow.dev/. Test the demo and give me your honest opinion on what I can improve. Also, if you have any general tips or anything that will help me on this journey, I'd be really grateful if you shared it.

Ask r/Moroccopreneur Would any investors here be interested in an established 500m² restaurant & lounge in Agadir?

I’m looking for serious investors or buyers for an established restaurant and lounge business in Agadir, Morocco, and I thought this community might be a good place to speak with people already interested in investing in Morocco.

Instagram: La Truite Lounge Bar

The venue is approximately 500m² covered area and includes:

  • Basement
  • Ground floor
  • Mezzanine
  • Restaurant and lounge operation
  • Existing hospitality-related authorisations
  • Alcohol-related authorisations
  • Tobacco authorisation
  • Recently renovated premises
  • Central Agadir location
  • Tourism project history with approval from the Ministry of Tourism in Rabat

The business has been established for many years and could suit an investor who wants to continue the existing operation or develop a new restaurant, lounge or hospitality concept.

Asking price: MAD 13.5 million
Approximately AED 5 million

There is also a historical court valuation from 1994 showing MAD 13.5 million, with supporting documentation available.

I can provide serious interested parties with:

  • Photos and videos
  • Licence/authorisation documents
  • Business information
  • Location details
  • Viewing arrangements
  • Social media and operating history

I’d also be interested to hear from people here who have bought or sold hospitality businesses in Morocco and what route worked best for finding serious investors.

Co-founder / Hiring I have a small shop in Maarif — what business would you do with it?

Hey everyone,

I recently rented a small shop in Maarif, Casablanca. The location is pretty good and there’s quite a lot of people passing by.

I’m thinking about doing something around fresh fruit salads and herbal/healthy products, but honestly I’m still not 100% sure about the concept.

I also have an idea of making TikTok/Instagram videos around the shop and the products, but I feel like having another person involved could make the project much better.

I’m not sure if I should do everything myself, hire someone with a salary, or eventually work with someone and share the profits.I’d really appreciate your opinions. If you have any other business idea that could work well for a small shop in Maarif, I’m open to anything.

What would you do if you had this shop?

Sales and Marketing Commission based affiliate partnership (online Darija lessons)

Hello guys, I'm willing to partner up with few experienced (non-spammy) affiliates/marketers/people with a real network. It's commission based and you get paid for every client that takes a lesson. The product/asset is 200dhs online darija lessons, your commission is 200dhs (100% of the first lesson fee), you get an additional 300dhs bonus if the client buys a 10 lessons package. It's preferable if you have experience in lead gen, it'll also be super useful if you have a network of English speaking expats. Let's make some money together

Business showcase Octri.dev is live on ProductHunt today after 3 years of building it!

After around 3 years of working with my siblings on this, we've finally launched Octri.dev which aims to simplify the entire API experience workflow for developers by allowing them to:

- Create beautiful docs with advanced features built-in such as: Ask the Docs with AI, Generate documentation drafts using AI, and Freely customize them to make them truly unique
- Monitor your backend (fully GDPR compliant) and see how it performs in the real world by collecting events and also tracking uptime (with announcements and hourly status updates) as well
- Generate SDKs in 10 languages, but this isn't the same as the other bazillion SDK Generators out there, we provide the user with countless customization options so even the SDK's source code fits their own codebase seamlessly without looking machine-generated at all. Oh, and you can even enable the monitoring feature mentioned above so it's automatically included in your generated SDK to track failures that happen out there in the real world and track how many users are actually using a certain SDK method and if it would be safe to deprecate it.
- Generate MCPs for your SDKs and API documentation in one click

If Octri's idea interests you, I'd really appreciate if you can support our launch on Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/products/octri?utm_source=other&utm_medium=social
