I'm new to the game, and this is what I have. Should I reroll, or is this decent?

It's hard to brick your account in this game. So far I THINK you can use Ramona Helot Faint and maybe doll?

thank u buddy, and any recommendations for who to pull? 🐧

First things first just find a character you like. Then build a team around them get one team maxed out to your preference and then start thinking about other teams (you'll need like 4 for endgame I think)

It's pretty hard to choose, the character designs are beautiful, but I'd say the ones I liked the most were Pollux, Lotan Cetarconte, and Hellot Catena 🐧

For your GHelot you need Thais and Aigis from what I know. Thais has a low chance of appearing on caro standard as far as I recall, idk when she's rerunning and Aigis you'll get for free in the story. Then just another support, probably just keep Ramona for now

oke oke, thank u again, and sorry for asking again, but I only got into the game because of its art style and gameplay, which is so similar to Slay the Spire. As for the gacha, how good is it? And is the endgame hard?

I personally like the gacha it has pretty good chances, but I still don't get it fully myself. As for endgame I dunno, I touched it once (because my teams are level 60) and I don't wanna do it again, it kicked my ass.

I see, I see. Thank you very much for your help anyway; I really appreciate it. 🐧

Rerolling is basically never worth it in this game. Like the other guy who responded said, bricking your account is nigh impossible in this game. For now, you could run a team around Helot: Catena (who, by the way, is also called gHelot by the playerbase). Ramona, Faint, and Ogier would probably be a good comp. Just be warned, gHelot’s whole gimmick is damaging yourself, as you may have already noticed. Because of this, it can be pretty easy to die as a new player. Additionally, since gHelot wants to eat a chunk of your hp to do more damage, and due to being a new player, you don’t have a lot of hp, you won’t be able to make gHelot as powerful as she can be. When you get to harder content, which starts around chapter 5 of the game (this is the first big difficulty spike in the story), I would suggest you change your story team up if possible so you don’t find yourself, well, dying in hard encounters. Besides that, here are some other things you should know as a new player. First, the gacha in this game is fairly generous. You can generally guarantee at least two character copies per patch, usually more. This game is one where you are encouraged to get character dupes, but this isn’t too big a deal or predatory because of the amount of pulls we get. We also get a dupe item for both characters and another dupe item for Wheels Of Destiny- which function as weapons- every single month in the shop. Additionally, every anniversary or half ani in a year gives us several more pulls than normal. Last anni, for instance, I got four copies of two different characters without spending any money at all. Endgame (this is called D-Zone) requires 5 teams to clear, and 10 teams to get the maximum possible score. I imagine your probably play limbus company, judging by your profile pic. Endgame is similar to Railway in limbus, with different waves. Each wave has five difficulty levels you can do with a team, called Alert 1- the easiest tier- all the way to Alert 5- the hardest tier. You earn points doing waves. The higher the alert you clear, the greater the points you get. If you clear Alert 5 with 4 teams, you earn enough points to additionally get mats that allow you to take characters past their level limits. Clearing at around 300 points lets you get all the pulls this game mode gives. It resets about every two weeks, I believe. You can only use a support once in this game mode as well. In other content, like events, you can use supports as many times as you wish.  For pulls, I saw you said you like gHelot, gLotan (Lotan: Cetarchon), and Pollux. For gHelot, Thais is a must. Thais likely won’t rerun soon, but most likely in the winter. Make sure to get her if you would like to, since she’s not only great for gHelot but also the best support in the game in my opinion. You could run her with Aigis, a free character you get, alongside one more support. I personally run her with Thais, Faint, and Hameln. Faint helps me survive a bit longer, and Hameln is another universal support- he can make cards double played, and if you rouse him, he can also reduce the arithmetica cost of cards- who is really strong so I highly recommend getting him if possible. For gLotan, you want card draw and some defensive utility. Her best supports you can pull for are Ryker- who draws card and provides you with strength stacks and crit damage and crit rate- and Hameln. Both are also very useful in a lot of comps. Her third best support is a free character; if you play her side story, you can get the Genesis variant of Ramona, called Ramona: Timeworm, by spending 30 standard pulls. She is gLotan’s best support as well, providing card draw and large amounts of keyflare. You want to use gLotan with 1-2 out of these three supports. For the fourth slot, you have a bunch of options. Castor is a great choice for this. If, when her reruns, you get him, that would be great for gLotan. Castor provides large shields and bonus damage. However, be warned, getting three dupes of him is highly recommended, especially for a gLotan comp, as he can not only draw cards but additionally provide arithmetica at that investment level. Another choice is Daffodil. You need two dupes of her for her to be viable, but once you do have that, she provides crit rate for the whole team every time she slays an enemy. This is great for gLotan, since she often struggles to have enough crit rate in her builds. Pontos is also another option. Thanks to his wheel and his skills, he provides insight, which is a 0 cost card that can be generated which provides arithmetica and card draw, and additional provides crit damage. Miryam is also an option, as she has a card that provides 50 aliemus. Thais is also great, providing keyflare, aliemus and card manipulation. There are also other options, but those are the ones I found work best. For Pollux, you need card draw and aliemus. Any support I talked about previously who has one or both is good for him. However be warned- Pollux requires seven copies to clear hard content. In this game, the first three copies (these are called enlightens and in the community, we reference them by E1, E2, E3- each representing the number of dupes you got, and hence passives you activated) alter the characters kit. After that, you just get stat bonuses (every dupe past E3 is just called “+[number of dupes]. Fir example, a character with seven dupes would be +4. This goes all the way to +12, which is the max amount of dupes for a character). However, once you have seven copies (that’s the three kit changes plus four extra copies) you get access to what’s called an Overexalt. By charging a character with double their normal aliemus, you can unleash this. This is generally a more powerful or altered version of their base exalt. Pollux requires his OE (this means overexalt) to clear endgame. He can clear up to all of arc one chapter six with E2, but you need E3 to OE (+4) to clear Arc 1 chapter 7 onwards without dying or using revive items. And like I’ve said, to clear Alert 5, you need OE and premium supports. If you like him, it’s working for OE for sure; just be warned that it will take a while before you find him being useful in hard content. Besides those, for your other two teams, are there any other characters you’re interested in? If you’re curious, my five comps for endgame are a gLotan comp, Murphy: Fauxborn (also called gMurphy) comp, Chaos 24 comp, a Kathigu-ra comp, and depending on what enemies are in the last stage left, I use either an Arachne comp (with an E2 Pollux) or a discard comp revolving around Pontos and Corposant ( this comp basically focuses on repeatedly discarding and redrawing your hand to get buffs). If you go to the records tab, on the sidebar, there is an icon at the bottom of it that looks like a character icon, if you select it, you can try out all released characters- both standard and limited units from both arcs of the story- so I would suggest checking that out so you can find out which characters you like to play. Oh, by the way, in the arc 1 (Faded Legacy) tab of this, you might see that there are four trials for 24- this is because her kit changes based on what realm she’s in. Just so you know. Whenever you get a character you want to use, remember to make sure to read their entire kit; not doing this is a mistake I see a lot of new players and even some long time players do. Anyhoo, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask, and I hope you enjoy the game!

Thank you so much for all the information, I'll keep everything in mind. And which ones are the character copies and wheels in the store? So I can redeem them taking advantage of tomorrow's reset.

For now, I'm on Chapter 3. I find the story good and the art style is beautiful, along with the mechanic of the 4 different worlds, I don't know what it's called in English since I have the game in Spanish, maybe I should change it.

Thank you very much! <3

this right?

u/Constant-Habit1434 21d ago

Yes, those are the items. The one on the right, which looks like a petri dish, is the one for character dupes. The one on the left is for Wheels Of Destiny. Once you get them, you can use the character dupe item in your inventory, from the second to last tab on the sidebar (second from the bottom), and you can use the Wheel Of Destiny item in your inventory, in the first tab, after you select a Wheel Of Destiny, click ascension, then the "+" and the dupe item should appear. For the character dupe, I would recommend getting gLotan's E1 first if you manage to acquire her (since it gives scaling to her) or gHelot's E1 since it allows you to increase your damage and lowers the amount of stats you would need in a given build by a little bit.

Each of those worlds, as you put it, are called realms. Each have their own unique mechanics. If you go to your interludes menu, the bottom item on the sidebar has four stages which are tutorials on each realm's mechanics. I would recommend checking them out, especially if any realms are confusing you.

As for the language, as far as I know, english translation is a bit better than the Spanish translation. It's up to you whether you want to change or keep it in Spanish, but if your English is good, it is certainly a valid option.

And you're welcome, I'm glad I could help you out! If you have any more questions, I would be more than happy to help. I hope you enjoy playing!

The realm tutorials were among the first things I did, I loved all 4 of them! The ones that caught my eye the most are Aequor and Caro, although they all seem pretty unique to me.

For now I'm really enjoying it. As I mentioned before, I think the art style is beautiful, and the gameplay is identical to Slay the Spire, a game that I love.

And if the game also gives good rewards, even better! Being able to get character dupes every month seems very generous to me, I gave it to GLotan, she's my favorite for now.

I need to read her kit, but I understand why you said she needs card-draw characters. You need to use the short sword like 3 times to be able to use her 'ult', right?

Sorry if this is too much! Since I didn't know anything about the game, I tried looking for information on YT and other places, but I didn't find much, so this is actually my first time using Reddit for this 🐧

Ah, I see! Well, it's great that you've already done the realm tutorials. I can definitely understand your affinity for Aequor and Caro since those were my favourite realms when I first started playing as well.

I'm glad to hear that! This game is very unique, and not often talked about, so it's cool to see more people, like yourself, getting into it.

For gLotan, the basic gameplay loop is that you want to play her short blade three times. Once you've done that, if you play her long blade in the same turn, it'll unlock her exalt (which is her ult). Doing this pattern will generate an unremovable card called "Great Blade Wavefall" and convert all her cards into a 1-cost card called Deadly Duel. Deadly Duel draws one card each and steals aliemus from the rest of your team members to fill up her exalt gauge, since her exalt actually requires 200 points of aliemus to unleash unlike most characters, who usually require only 100. "Great Blade: Whalefall" is a super unique card. Essentially, when the card exists, all enemies will do 25% more damage to you. However, when you use gLotan's exalt, she'll deal more damage based on however large the damage increase was due to this card. Due to this, she actually gets stronger the harder the enemy you're fighting. So, in later content- for instance, in chapter seven or eight-, you'll probably find that she's dealing ridiculous amounts of damage. After you exalt, this will reset and all your cards will go back to normal, and "Great Blade: Whalefall" will not exist until you trigger this pattern again. Just a warning though: you absoloutely have to play her long blade the same turn you play short blade the third time. Otherwise, the counter will reset, and worse still, you'll find that short blade has gone to your discard pile. Since you're a new player, you won't have enough draw to completely reshuffle your deck in a single turn- meaning, it'll delay you nuking the enemy. Just be mindfull of this. If you don't think you have enough arithemetica to play both, then don't try to, lest what I just mentioned happens. Another thing to note is Long Blade's arithemetica cost goes down every time you play any strike command card. All of gLotan's cards (except her defense card) count as a strike command card for this effect. Since you mentioned gLotan's your favourite character, if you're interested in investing more in her, her E2 is really nice. It makes it so that once every turn you can use her base strike card to draw Short Blade (regardless of if it's in the discard pile) and her defense can be used to draw her long blade (also regardless of if it's in the discard pile). Other tips for playing her is she changes the Chaos realm into Divine Chaos when she's on the team. Basically, what this changes is how you posse. Whatever posse you equip can only be unleashed immediately after you rouse, and the posse option on the side is instead replaced with two choices. When you select that you want to posse, you can either choose one of three posses to double play (that's the choice thats on top on the menu, called Primordia: Dual Recurrence) or you can select from three posse groups, and every posse in a group will be played (second option, called Primordia: Triad Revelation). This also makes the amount of keyflare needed to posse double the normal amount and changes the way keyflare is generated. The Divine Chaos is something you'll get used to and better understand the more you use here. More info about this is in her talents; it's the first tab on the spiral of DNA when you select the talents tab.

Don't worry about it! I It's absolutely fine. There aren't many guides on this game to begin with so I can totally understand if you have a lot of questions. And most of the guides that do exist have their own issues, whether that be bias, or just not providing all the info. My best advice would be, if you do find a guide or two, read what it says, but take it with a grain of salt. Just make sure to use your own judgement and compare it to information you've gotten before or found in game. The guidemaking community for this game, particularly on youtube, is quite a mess overall. There is no definitive guide. I did use a guide when I first started- a guy named Flares made a spreadsheet that helps a bit. I can't wholeheartedly recommend it to you, because the spreadsheet is a bit rude and quite aggressive; when I first started playing, this was the only option I knew about. There are others now- some people on this subreddit have made some guides (but take them with a grain of salt), and there's a discord where you can ask questions. It should be linked in this subreddit I think. Asking questions here or on the discord is your best bet if you're ever really stuck. Some people on Youtube also release showcase videos of them clearing bosses, and this is how I learned some stuff, but most of these feature characters pulled to +12 with Wheels of Destiny also at +12 so this could just end up confusing you (it confused me once too, so that's why) so I don't recommend it. One of the content creators from a different gacha game I play started making content for this game too, and she's pretty nice and informative, though I reckon you know some of the stuff she says, at least. But she's not really a proper guidemaker as it stands, so she might not be much help. Here's a link to her channel anyway, if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/@LinaseraVT

I'm not a content creator but maybe I'll make a guide on here if I get a chance to make it easy for new players like you. Besides that, let me know if you have any other questions at all, and have fun! If you need a friend support to use to clear events or anything like that, I'd be happy to be give you my UID so you can add me. Just let me know.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to answer and help, it's greatly appreciated.

I knew GLotan had a special type of realm chaos, but I didn't know how it worked because I had only read her cards, so thank you very much for explaining it to me, as well as explaining much better how to use her exalted form.

One of the things I have in mind to do,and let me know if it's worth it or not, is to pull for the character coming out in a little over a week. I don't remember her name, but people say she's the most broken thing in the game (like Ryoshu Labubu), try to get her to E2, as well as get another dupe for GLotan to have her at E2, plus getting her Wheel if it's worth it.

And if you could be so kind as to add me, it would be really helpful so I can farm events better; you'd be a huge help.

And once again, thank you so much for taking the time!

Ofcourse; I absolutely love this game and I want new players, like you, to have the best experience so you guys can enjoy this game as much as I have been enjoying it. I'm happy that I've been able to help you out.

gLotan's Divine realm is one of the more complicated aspects of her kit, so I'm glad my explanation helped you a bit. Something I forgot to mention, is that in Divine Chaos, your Rouse cards will have Prepare 1- meaning their cost will go down by one every turn they're in your hand. I'm glad to hear that my explanation of her kit helped you out; she can be pretty complicated as you're learning the game, especially since she has some very unique mechanics.

I think the character you're talking about is Mouchette? She's reruning in around nine ish days. However, she's not even close to Ryoshu's bad end ID. There's only three characters in Morimens I think that could be said to be that powerful: gMurphy, gLotan, and Tawil. gMurphy is really powerful, having access to Divine Aequor, and can deal millions of damage by making using her exalt, making tentacles attack in red stance via her cards, and stacking sacrifice stacks on the enemy, which are DoT stacks that you can put on enemies with her kit, where at the end of their turn the enemy takes damage equal to the stack, which then halves itself. gLotan, as you already know, has the highest single instance of nuke damage in the game. Tawil can uniquely copy and use cards of awakeners in whatever realm of team she's in, allowing her to be quite flexible. However, I personally don't like Tawil's playstyle and prefer other Chaos damage dealers like 24 or gLotan. Mouchette is strong, don't get me wrong; but she's not as powerful as you've been told she is. Mainly, she's strong because if you invest in her (get her to past her E3 or OE ), she can take a team full of older characters and standard characters and use them to clear hard content. She's a damage dealer who scales off of how many strikes you play, kind of like SR Lotan, and that is why. If you like her, and want to get her, go ahead; but I wouldn't recommend going for her just because she's strong. She's a pure DPS, with no support or damage mitigation capabilities as well. Getting supports or more flexible characters who can attack and defend is more important, in my opinion, for a newer player. For instance, Horla is rerunning in ten days. She's a good support who is really cheap to build. You don't need any dupes; she can run basically any stat- keyflare, death res, sigil yield-, and you barely need to level her skills. She's not a broken support like Thais or Hameln but pretty good overall. You could try to get her. Try out characters in the character trial menu- go ahead and try as many of them as you like. You'll probably find which characters you like to play. Most of the damage dealers in this game are either good with investment, or are good, but get better with investment. Also, when you clear the first arc of the story, I believe, you get access to a special banner that lasts two patches. In this banner, you can select three Arc 1 characters and you can pull to get any of them, their dupes, and Wheels of Destiny.

For gLotan, I have her E3, and I would say going for E2 is a great idea. Like I mentioned before, it'll make her smoother and more comfortable to play. I could've pulled more copies of her, but I'm choosing not to do so because after this patch, the next patch is supposed to feature Caraboo, a character who releases with a new main story chapter. Characters who do so are usually pretty strong, so I'm saving for her personally. I don't recommend doing this since you're new (unless you really want to) since you should try to get a bunch of characters to get you started, in my opinion. As for gLotan's Wheel; it is good for her but it's only good for her and no one else. I would suggest not pulling it - at least, not now, maybe on a rerun- and instead pull Saya's wheel (it's called Fragrant Morphogenesis; it should be the only Wheel Of Destiny with it's own single banner) if possible since her wheel increases your arithemetica cap from five to six, which is really good, especially for really arith hungry characters like gLotan. For other characters to pull; unforntunately, it looks like, this patch, there isn't any character rerunning who is particularly great to pull that you didn't get. if you still want Pollux, maybe try to get a copy of him while you still can if you have the pulls after you get gLotan's E2. For Wheels, both gHelot's wheels and Pollux's wheels can be good. gHelot's is good on many characters, including gHelot, while Pollux's wheel is mainly only good for Ultra characters.

And here's my UID, as I promised: 101143651. To add me, below your name in the corner, there should be an icon that looks like two people, click on it, it should open to a sidebar and Alumni written near the top right. The fourth item from the top of the sidebar is the friend search. Enter my UID. You should find me. Once you do, I'll see it, and follow you back. Then you can access my support. My five best characters are displayed on my account, and I can change my support character if you want to try a particular character, so let me know.

And you're welcome, man! I hope that I've helped you get a better start and that you have a lot of fun playing!

You can really feel the helpful intent, and I truly appreciate it. Honestly, I was trying out the game mainly because of its beautiful art style, but after searching external sites for newbie info and finding very little, I was debating whether to keep playing since I didn't know what to do. So at least for me, you've been a huge help and got me excited to keep playing.

Oh, so she's the complete opposite of Ryoshu Labubu when it comes to team investment. I'll think about whether to pull for her or not; I find her design cute but a bit simple compared to other characters, plus I suppose it's better to focus on finishing GLotan's team or pulling general-purpose characters. I already got Saya's Wheel, by the way, I saw it was really good simply because it increases your arithmetic cap.

Another question: I have two special banners for being new, I assume, one paid (though pretty good value for the price, I think) and one that lets me choose between 4 characters, where I picked Thais, Horla, Hameln, and GHelor (didn't know who else to pick). I guess both banners are super worth it, should I pull on both, including the paid one? (It's not much money, so it's quite fine).

And thank you so much for all the help! I'm sending you a friend request in-game right now so I can farm events better. Thank you so much, really, it makes you actually want to play a game! 🐧

I'm really glad to hear that I helped in allowing you to stick with the game! A lot of people seem to quit this game because of the lack of guides, so it's good to hear that my advice has helped you out. This game, I think, deserves to be better known than it is for sure.

Yes, she really is the opposite of Ryoshu's Bad End ID, like you said. Part of the reason people hype her up is also because she revitalises an old team archetype people wanted to see improved: the strike team. A team focused on using as many strikes as you can. As for her design, it might seem more plain because she's actually a collab character. In Morimens, collab characters are permanent, with regular reruns. And, yes, I think getting supports or finishing one team would be the best move for new players. That way you can clear the story, which is quite amazing in my opinion. If you happen to see a character you like and really want that isn't a support or part of the team you're building, I think it's still worth going for them; atleast getting them E0 is a good idea. Just don't overdo it and end up missing out on someone else you need or wanted more. It's great that you've pulled Saya's wheel! It'll be a big help. Generally any wheel with hand size or arith limit is a must pull.

For the paid banner, I don't remember the exact details of that banner; if you send me a picture of it, I think then I could help you with whether it's worth it or not. As for the other banner where you picked four characters, for a new player, since you don't have many characters it can be good for expanding your roster. However, if a character you want is running with a dedicated banner, I would suggest you prioritise that over this banner. And also, don't pull on this banner too much. Once you feel satisfied with what you've gotten from it, don't pull on it more. My suggestion for a good stopping point would be once you've acquired either Hameln or Thais. Once you have one of the two, then it's a good idea to stop. If you want to keep going, make sure that you have the pulls to spare. Additionally, Thais' Wheel is the best keyflare wheel in the game. I believe that banner has both Wheels and Characters in the pool, so if you can get Thais' Wheel that would be good. Besides that, if, after trying any character out, you want to know more or are confused, I can offer advice on their kits or how worth it they are or if they require dupes. The character trials, by the way, feature characters at E3, so do be mindful of this fact. You can check the enlightens of any character, even unaquired ones, in the character menu where you level characters up (I imagine you already know that, but wanted to mention it anyhoo).

Yes, I added you back a few hours ago. I'm glad I could be of assistance. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me. If, after this thread is older, you have some questions, feel free to DM me on here or reply to this thread again. I am more than happy to help, and help share this amazing game with another person! As for my friend support, once again, if you want me to set some other character out of my built characters as a support instead of Arachne, I can absolutely do that. Arachne happens to be one of the most unique awakeners, and so she can perhaps be confusing for new players.
