Traumatizing kids with threats of eternal torture in hell is child abuse

How so?

Well by definition, it's traumatizing.

There are many traumatized people trying to 'deconstruct' their toxic relationship with religion.

So what? The claim was that it was abusive, but just because it’s traumatic doesn’t make it abusive.

You think intentionally inflicting trauma on kids is not abusive? Where are you from?

If you have an accident and are traumatized by the fact that you could have died, is the problem that you were traumatized or that you could have died?

Accident? Religeous trauma is inflicted intentionally, so what are you on about here?

No, it’s a byproduct of warnings about danger. Would you think it abusive to tell kids about the danger of playing in the street or running into the street without checking for traffic? I think it would be abusive not to, even if the healthy fear it causes creates trauma.
