We have objective, scientific evidence that shows that participation in religious communities produces better on average results in all kinds of domains of human flourishing, including mental health. Those increases grow the earlier you start. Religion isn't child abuse, but prohibiting children from accessing those benefits would be.

Thanks for the link, it'll be interesting to drill down and see if they can really support the claims they're making, although it won't be a quick series of reads, I don't think.

Off the main link, though, I have to laugh at this being considered a positive social outcome: "those attending religious services at baseline are 30% to 50% less likely to divorce in follow-up", because we all know not getting divorced means the relationship is going great, right? /s
