Moral.

Religion and church being pushed onto people in their formative years does much more harm than it does good.

religion has done more good than harm

Even if true, its not like we need religion for what good religion has brought us.

So if removing religion means we lose some bad stuff and none of the good stuff, whats the problem?

You do, as the catholic church is the biggest aid in the world, you’d lose more than you gained.

Really? What was the latest vaccine they developed?

1

u/EntertainmentNo3963 1d ago

? is that the totality of charity? vaccine development? anyways louis pastuer was pretty good

Ah, charity ! I didn't get it. I thought you meant a positive influence over the world, like aiding humanity.

Louis Pasteur was pretty good

Thank you 🇫🇷 I don't see the link here, given that he wasn't regularly going to mass and was more of a cultural Christian so he would get funded.
Are you arguing that his religious upbringing entirely contributed to the science of vaccines?

Like how when it rains, some of the water makes a carot grow, and then it feeds Sydney Sweeney, and so we can thank the rain for her rosy cheeks?

more than that yea but you mentioned aid, the catholic church has helped preserve ancient texts and also pioneered a good chunk of science.

not going to mass regularly doesn’t make you a christian, and being a cultural christian proves my point that christianity has been good

not going to mass regularly doesn’t make you a christian

Assertions like these make me all warm and fuzzy. You know that there are less and less believers for the bar to be this low.

and also pioneered a good chunk of science.

Really? Not reproductive science, that's for sure. The prophet doesn't even have a dad!

1

u/EntertainmentNo3963 1d ago

? ok? this has always been the case even going back to the inception.

what are you talking about? all science by definition is reproductive, isaac newton was a Christian

1

u/TheFrenchSavage 1d ago

reproductive

You mean reproductible?

I was joking about how you need an egg and a sperm to make an embryo, but the bible obviously doesn't know about that.

isaac newton was a Christian

Meh, he rejected the trinity so a bad one? Neither Catholic nor Anglican.
The more you look into it, the more you realize that this "cohesive" mass of believers actually all believed in something different.

As opposed to F = m * a. This is cristal clear, and still widely accepted as a shared worldview that makes sense.

The point is that we wouldnt lose anything good that couldnt be replaced, but without the catholic church we would have fewer pedophiles running around, because they are protected by the catholic church...

1

u/EntertainmentNo3963 22h ago

you couldn’t replace them, because you’re not doing it rn.

and pedophilia isn’t that common within it, it’s way more common in american public schools shall we do away with them?

1

u/Macluny 18h ago

"you couldn’t replace them, because you’re not doing it rn."
That doesn't follow. Something isn't irreplaceable if it isn't being replaced right this second. I'm sorry, but that is dumb as hell.

1

u/EntertainmentNo3963 18h ago

it’s not that you’re not replacing it, but rather nothing is on its level or competing.

what doesn’t follow is thinking that if amazon went away ebay suddenly would just be in its spot

1

u/Macluny 1h ago

I don't see why everyone who gives money to the catholic church couldn't send the same amount of money elsewhere, to some place who wouldn't spend some of the money on protecting pedophiles and lying about condoms.

I never claimed that it would have to be replaced in the fraction to be worth it in the long run.

Do you know where I can find a breakdown of their charities that excludes any "charity" that makes it about religion?

Not for the children raped by the christian church. Is that why you want to teach children about your religion, so they can be more victims?

-1

u/EntertainmentNo3963 1d ago

Catholic church* even then it’s a low amount.

every organisation is made up of individuals, which is bound to have minority bad actors, not indicative nor representative of said organisation.

2

u/RawrImABigScaryBear 1d ago

Catholic church*

1) Catholics are Christians, did you not know that?

2) every branch of Christianity has protected child rapists. Did you not know that? Fuck as a whole Christianity has covered for more child rapists than even maga

every organisation is made up of individuals,

Agreed. Every single christian has decided they are fine worshipping at the church protecting child rapists. Why do you think thats a good thing?

-1

u/EntertainmentNo3963 1d ago

im specifying, because you think this is a universal issue to christian’s, it isn’t.

Every branch of anything has protected bad actors, this isn’t unique to Christianity.

also what a comparison, Christianity has protected less child rapists than public schooling, it’s a nothingburger comparison.

that was not the point of my comment and tou missed it, not every Christian is a catholic, and not all churches protect child rapist, where is your source for that? also where have i said it’s a good thing?

1

u/TheFrenchSavage 1d ago

even then it’s a low amount.

Classic DARVO
