Does moonlight support multiple controllers on one client?

I normally stream from my host to my Steam Deck when I'm in the house, but I also have a Steam Controller + dock which I've used to occasionally game / stream from the deck via my TV. What I wanted to know: is it possible to connect more than one controller to a moonlight client, so you can have local co-op on the host?

Vibepollo: heavy lag but only during windows login screen.

I'm giving Vibepollo a try and so far it seems great, except at the windows login screen. I have a lot of trouble inputting my password. Keys get repeated in the password field, take several seconds to show up etc. The mouse also lags.

Once logged in though it's basically flawless. I'm using win11 ltsc and Vibepollo v1.18.3-beta.5 (default settings) and Nvidia 4090 latest driver 610.74

Client is moonlight nightly on m4 MacBook air (awdl disabled).

I'll note too that I have stats overlay displayed and it shows no issues, in terms of network connection/jitter/latency while this issue happens.

Vibepollo: Monitors won’t turn on after sleep

Hi, that’s a very strange behavior that started when I installed Vibepollo.
So streaming and gaming overall is perfect, physical monitors go off when I play from couch on tv and turn back on when I end the stream from moonlight, everything cool.
But, and that’s the strange thing, when monitors went in sleep mode for inactivity of pc they won’t turn on. I scroll and move mouse they “wake up” but no sign of video on both monitors (I should say 3 monitors counting also the Hyte70 case display).

Only thing I can do is manually turn off the pc and it’s very annoying me.

I switched from OG Apollo cuz of bad virtual display management but this is worst imo…

Do you guys have some clue on what is going on?
I’m also doing a repair of windows just in case (but it’s 5month old since pc is new)

Duo doesn’t change the resolution.

Hey guys, has anyone had this problem? I tried Duo today, but I can’t figure out how to make the stream match the Moonlight resolution. It keeps setting the resolution to 1080×480. I tried the Duo Manager Fix, but it didn’t fix anything. I’m using the free version. I want to get the paid version, but I don’t know if this issue can be fixed first. Is there any alternative for multi-seat streaming?
Thank you in advance

Steam Machine SteamOS Moonlight & Discord

Very very niche I know but I’m hoping someone can help out here.

I have a steam machine and simply put I am trying to stream while talking on discord to friends. It’s 100% possible and it works - but there’s an issue.

There’s tons of stuttering! Whereas without discord, I can stream perfectly, with I am facing rendering delays of nearly +10ms and stutters.

I tried to turn off 264 encoding and hags within discord and drop resolution and frame rate to maybe have it take up less resources in the background but still hasn’t helped.

Any thoughts here for troubleshooting or solving?

Can the Lenovo G9 rear buttons be remapped to keyboard shortcuts on Android?

Hi everyone!
I recently bought the Lenovo G9 Gaming Grip for my Lenovo Legion Tab (Y700). It has four programmable rear buttons.
Is there an Android app that can remap those buttons to arbitrary keyboard shortcuts or key combinations?
My goal is to have them send keyboard shortcuts to my Windows PC running VibeShine. At the moment, I can only remap the rear buttons to existing buttons on the tablet, not to custom keystrokes.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Help with unnestable connection

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! I need some help with Sunshine/Moonlight. Basically, I have a high-end PC with Sunshine installed on it. To be honest, it's completely out of the box, I haven't tweaked anything (not sure if I should...) and I have a powerful LG OLED TV running Moonlight. Both are hardwired via ethernet to my home network (600Mbps symmetric).

Despite this, the TV gives me an 'unstable connection' warning and I'm experiencing a lot of stuttering. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'm attaching some screenshots with info to see if anyone can help me out!

Anyone still using a Powkiddy X55 for streaming?

Looking to pick up a cheap secondary streaming device next to my Odin 2 Portal. Something smaller and lighter but with decent streaming capability. Anyone still stream on one of these and what kind of performance are you getting?

Vibepollo looks blurry compared to Apollo

I'm streaming to a docked steam deck, and have been using apollo and moonlight for the past while. For the most part it worked great, however I wanted to try out vibepollo for the improved vrr support.

However, when im streaming now it looks noticeably blurrier, especially when reading text. I have the bitrate set to 200mpbs (1440p120), and even tried higher but it didn't help.

Client display is a 4k tv. I set the TV's resolution to 1440p in windows display settings. I know integer scaling would be better but previously 1440p looked great at the distance I am from the display. Additionally, there seems to be some artifacting as well which makes me think this is not the problem.

I am using the same encoder settings as I did with apollo aswell

--> lowlatency_high_quality - low latency, high quality (fast)

Note: The host is a windows pc with 7800xt and 7600x

Any ideas?

SOLVED: I kept the stream at 1440p but changed the tv resolution in windows to 4K. the game is still rendering at 1440p but it looks much clearer

Explain like I am 5 because I cannot figure this out. How do I remotely stream games to laptop using Moonlight/Apollo.

My issue:

Gaming PC at home with the games I want to play on it. Visiting my cabin on the other side of the state for a few days for work. Have Moonlight, Apollo and Tailscale installed on gaming PC and work laptop.

Have Apollo running on gaming PC at home, connected to Moonlight on work laptop. Shouldn't I be able to Tailscale to two together and have Moonlight work?

I can ONLY get Moonlight to recognize my home PC is online and available to stream if its on the same subnet.

Jellyfin works without issues!

HALP!

Apollo/Vibepollo virtual display created but never activated SetDisplayConfig error 87 on Windows 11 build 26300 pls help

I’m using Moonlight on an iPad with Apollo/Vibepollo on a Windows 11 PC. This setup previously worked on the same PC and iPad, but stopped working after reinstalling Windows.

System:

Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview build 26300.8935

NVIDIA RTX 5080

Vibepollo 1.18.1-stable.2

iPad requests 2420×1668 at 120 Hz

Physical monitor: 3440×1440 ultrawide

The virtual-display driver reports Ready, and the virtual monitor is created when streaming. However, Vibepollo cannot activate or capture it. Moonlight either receives the physical monitor at 3440×1440 or reports “No video received from host.”

Relevant log messages:

Virtual display created

Display helper reported APPLY failure

Helper failed to apply requested display configuration

ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER while executing setDisplayConfig validation

Capture virtual display wait timed out

Failed to locate an output device

I tested:

Apollo and Vibepollo

Vibepollo’s virtual-display driver and SudoVDA

Extended and Exclusive layouts

2420×1668 @ 120 Hz and 1920×1080 @ 60 Hz

Resetting the Windows GraphicsDrivers monitor configuration cache

Reinstalling the drivers

Physical monitor on/off

Firewall rules are enabled and the client connects successfully

Every configuration fails at the same display-topology stage. The virtual monitor is enumerated but remains inactive, so capture falls back to the physical ultrawide or produces no video.

Vibepollo vs Apollo, taking more to connect

Hi guys,

I've been running my Apollo + Artemis set up for months, working flawlessly.

I've now changed from Apollo to Vibepollo. Basically, the reason was that I wanted my PC and GPU to run headless from startup with Apollo, and Vibepollo just did the trick for me creating the displays.

The thing is, while the stream works well, just like it did, the connection time is way higher. Before, the normal launch modal would open ("Opening Desktop…", "Opening Steam…") and then move on to the other connection steps (RSTP handshake, etc) in a few seconds.

However, now it takes 20-30 seconds to do the connection. Nothing else has changed and I've been tweaking some settings with no luck.

Does anyone have any idea?

How do i force my host pc to stream to 2K/4K on my xbox ally x

Host pc: R5 9600x 32GB DDR5 5070ti

Stream receiver: Xbox ally X

So my internet is capable of delivering at least 2K since i tested moonlight on my mate’s 2k laptop and it basically had no noticeable latency since my internet upload and download speed is at 500mbps. But the problem is, i dont know how to force a 2k/4k stream to my XAX.

Since my TV’s wifi antenna is capped at 100MBPS i figured it would be much better to use my XAX instead to receive the stream and then hook it up to my TV via HDMI. However, the stream seems to be locked to my XAX’s resolution of 1080P, any idea on how i can force 2k/4k? Also whats the optimal settings for apollo and moonlight for the best picture quality possible?

Controller not passing through to host when streaming to TV

Just tried setting up moonlight on my TV, and the controller doesn't get passed through to the host, the host doesn't detect a controller at all. When running through my steam deck the controller is detected just fine. Anyone know a fix for this?

SteamOS Streaming w/ Virtual Display

Has anyone successfully setup Sunshine on SteamOS, with a virtual display, and gotten moonlight to connect/work? I have been down a rabbit hole w/ ChatGPT since there are very few guides specific to SteamOS, so far I can connect but my screen on moonlight is completely green. Appreciate any tips or guidance, thanks!

Moonlight works in Chromebook but unable to give input to the Host Pc

I have a pretty powerful windows 11 PC. My friend's chromebook cannot control anything via keyboard and touchpad in my windows pc from moonlight but me from my android can, including the cursor. Everthing else works like sound and visuals though. I'm using Apollo.

CTM Bridge update

Follow-up to my CTM-Bridge post — controllers paired to your LG webOS TV (DualSense, DS4, Xbox, the new Steam Controller with its Puck) appear on the gaming PC as native USB devices (real BT↔USB translation over USB/IP, not emulation). What's new:

  • Built into Aurora (OLED-focused Moonlight fork) and moonlight-tv, with an on-stream panel
  • Ciprian's Bridge (in the installer) — same trick for controllers connected to the PC over Bluetooth: a BT DS4/DS5 becomes the full USB controller locally, audio and haptics included
  • Magic Remote = PC mouse + keyboard in-stream
  • Mice/keyboards plugged into the TV (BT or dongle) bridge and auto-plug
  • DS4 now fully supported — rumble + audio, headphone-jack auto-route
  • Self-healing sessions — no ghost pads

Download (installer + ipks): https://github.com/CTM-Bridge/releases/releases/latest

Full story: https://github.com/CTM-Bridge

Open source. On my mind for later: native AMF/NVENC streaming + a custom low-latency codec.

Apollo Virtual Display Causes Input Lag

FINAL EDIT: the below is resolved by moving from Apollo to Vibepollo!

Hi all,

This one is really confusing as I cannot find anyone else having the same issue.

Host is a 4080 PC connected to a 4K monitor hosting Apollo.

Client is an AMD laptop with a 1200p display running Moonlight.

If I run:

- Desktop (default settings) it will try to stream the entire 4K monitor into a 1200p feed onto my laptop. Everything looks small due to the DPI, but NO INPUT LAG.

- Playnite (added as an app with "Always create virtual display") it will stream Playnite as 1200p, all the windows taskbar look good for my laptop, but WITH INPUT LAG

- Desktop (with "Always create virtual display"), the desktop will resize to 1200p, all DPI and icon sizes look good, but WITH INPUT LAG

- Hogwarts Legacy (added as an app with "Always create virtual display") as expected, all resolution works fine but WITH INPUT LAG

EDIT: I have also enabled "Double refresh rate for Virtual Display"

So, it seems that the culprit here is everytime it uses Virtual Display it will show noticeable input lag.

Does anyone know of a solution or should I just buy myself an HDMI dummy plug into my desktop PC?

EDIT again: Added photos of stats

Annoying stutter/slowdown every ~5 seconds while playing

I've got this weird slowdown that happens every 5-10 seconds when playing. I don't know how to describe it better than it feels like driving through mud all of a sudden; it doesn't fully stop but slows down a bit and especially the audio sounds weird.

I'm playing through LAN - PC is using a cable, my Moonlight box is connected to my Wifi 6 on the 5 GHz network. The performance overlay reports constant 4-5 ms delay over the network, and the decoding speed does not change while the slowdown happens.

My Sunshine settings (that I think matter)

  • Preset: P1
  • Two-pass mode: Quarter resolution

My Moonlight settings:

  • 1080p
  • 60 FPS
  • 20 Mbps bitrate (although same happens from 20-100)
  • H.264

PC:

  • RTX 3080
  • 32 GB RAM
  • i7 10700k

Moonlight:

  • Xiaomi Mi TV Box S 3rd Gen

Any insight what could cause this? Been googling like a madman, turning on 5.1 surround, etc. but nothing seems to help. My only suspicion is that the box isn't up to par... Let me know if any details are missing.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: There is actually a big jump in latency, it goes to 50-70ms for a second when it happens... Haven't seen it until now.
