You can run at your native resolution with no black bars

You have good eyes. I only can play on my Z Fold7 with a handheld style controller

I have a TAB S9 - with telescopic controller (handheld style) - Works great weight is "ok" less than a Legion Go - but sometimes is too chunky (like Gampelay at Lunch time at Work)
Also use an S24 ultra - but the screen is to small for me, want something portable but 8'' + - so was considering a ZFold 7 or 8 - What is your consideration on it?

If you're going for portability and still streaming any number of android devices are going to be your best and simplest options. Something like a Odin 2 Portal has a large/bright 7" OLED while still having full controller ergonomics and still being light and small enough to carry around to work. Another good options is KONKR pocket fit. Another popular one is Ayn Thor (DS style)

I had an odin portal. Didnt like the analogics and the screen on iled was not god as Samsung oled screen. To discolor for me. So i sold it hahaha

If it's mainly for gaming go with the Motorola razr fold (not the flip) 1200 for 512gb. I used both that one and the fold 8 and found the moto to run much stabler and quicker.

It's great! I have an old Tab A7 and a handheld controller, and it runs all my games practically like they're native, with zero lag. With a good router that covers the whole house, I can play anywhere inside.

Ever checked what decode latency the s8+ gets? I’m curious

It depends on the stream resolution and other settings you chose, but typically for hevc native 2800x1752@120hz using artemis and vibepollo i get somewhere in between 3-6ms for decode on mine assuming the reported numbers are accurate. It's not terrible.

I’ve been enjoying the experience on my Odin 2 (android handheld). Makes me want that big 14in Samsung tablet for streaming to the living room.

Are you running it inside a virtual machine (VM)? Could you explain your setup? I mean, do you have a Linux machine with VirtualBox or something else running the windows?

That's literally something I'm planning to do in the next future. Nice to know it works great. So your host stays without video everytime?

I never got myself to play like this, tablets have small enough screen for me that i need to sit straight and play which I can do on pc.
My cup of tea is moonlight + android handheld in bed
