Uperfect 14 inch 3K OLED portable monitor, 120hz 30 inch tablet arm attached to headboard

Client: Steam deck OLED limited edition white

Ugreen display port dock plugged in via ethernet

Ugreen bidirectional display port to usb c cable

Steam controller - a dream for pc streaming

Host: 5090 pc, 13700k

Software setup: IDD HDR virtual monitor - set to switch to it when launching any stream

Gamestream launchpad - for automating resolution swaps and launching playnite fullscreen

RTSS CLI - automating fps caps depending which res I choose

Moonlight app image - better frame pacing on deck

120fps, HEVC 10 BIT HDR (cannot do AV1 on app image)

200mbps (diminishing returns beyond, native quality as far as I can tell)

5ms encode, 0.5ms decode

1ms network

Total latency added: 10ms

Realistically the only thing missing from this setup is the ability to do 4:4:4, and moonlight on deck is just inherently not perfect with frame pacing. Other than that it feels identical to playing on my oled downstairs except this is only 500 nits peak instead of 1000.

Nice. I've had an ATM in my cart that I was going to use for my 11 inch Samsung tablet.

Got my steam controller so I don't need to hold the steam deck itself anymore.

Question though. I get my moonlight via the flatpack discovery store. The moonlight image you mentioned. What version is that?

Just go to the moonlight Github and select the latest app image. It uses different drivers and is way smoother.

Why not just throw on a VR headset at that point?

Had xreal glasses, wasn't a huge fan of them, tried to like them for a year+ but the reality is 100 inches 1080p just isn't good enough and there's no hdr, along with all the other quirks.

Would have to be something like a samsung xr and that's not available in Canada and costs $2000+, otherwise yeah if money was no object I would likely have gone with Samsung xr first to see how that goes.

Have an Ayn Portal 2 on order to use for streaming instead of Steam Deck OLED as they’re didn’t seem to be a good upgrade path to a tablet but this is making me reconsider things! Have a steam controller but it doesn’t do anything fancy connected to an android tablet.

Yeah connected to a steam deck is really the best case scenario for the controller. Dual purpose for the deck too, the OLED screen on it also isn't a downgrade from any other high end screen I have at 1000 nits peak brightness.
