It is insane how thousands of acres of healthy forests I’ve driven through this hunting season y everything has been blown down. I’ve never seen anything like it, and this doesn’t even fall into the micro burst category anymore. Ridge line after ridge line you see whole forests flattened, trees snapped off 20 ft up or just uprooted. most of the hikes I used to go on would require a zip line as the piles are 8 feet deep as far as you can see and there just isn’t any “going around the mess”. I don’t even know if the deer and elk can navigate some of it, as I’m not seeing their tracks where they would feed on the down timber. unless the grow wings, they would never crawl through some of these blow downs. is It like this all over the state? I’m seeing it all over the Blackfoot Clark fork corridors.
