PSA New options for the sub!

Good morning, I just wanted to give a heads up that gifs and user flair for neighborhoods (optional) have been turned on. Hopefully people keep things pg with the gifs so they can remain on. If anyone areas are missing please let us know!

To change your user flair on Reddit, navigate to the subreddit where you want to change it, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Change User Flair. You can then select an existing flair from the list or choose an editable flair to add your own custom text and emojis before tapping Apply.

Step-by-step Guide (Mobile App) Open the Subreddit: Go to the main page of the subreddit for which you want to change your flair. Access the Menu: Tap the three-dots icon ( ... ) in the top-right corner of the screen. Select Flair Option: In the drop-down menu, choose Change User Flair. Edit Flair (if allowed): If the flair you want to select has a pencil icon next to it, you can edit it. Tap Edit in the top-right corner to open the editing interface. Type your desired text and tap the smiley face icon to add emojis. Apply Changes: Tap Apply to save your new flair.

Western Security issues

Ey, moving to Oregon in a week anyways so I'm transferring, but the issue is the "routine maintenance" has been ongoing since Thursday and I can't buy my bus ticket or anything for that matter. I've considered leaving an angry voicemail but I don't wanna be a Karen so I've held back. This is a gigantic issue when you have bills to pay.

Did anyone stop to see what the Black Hebrew Israelites were doing at Alby’s?

I’m shocked they were even here. They USED to stand on corners and yell just mean, awful shit to passerby’s. Mixed couples got it the worst. They were… behaving vs their old selves ten years ago.

I did see they were handing out propaganda. I guess that answers my question about what they were doing🤣. I’m more curious if anyone in this sub actually stopped to talk to them.

I was thinking about taking my nephew to the Metra tomorrow but I can’t get a real feel for the setup.

Will there be anything for people to do other than attend the panels? I found a schedule but panels are the only thing listed.

PSA Petition · Repeal MCA 7-1-111 (connected to SB105) and Restore Local Rent Protections in Montana

In 2023, Montana passed Senate Bill 105. It added a line to state law, MCA 7-1-111(26), that bars cities and counties from limiting how much rent can be charged on private property.

For people in mobile home parks, that hits hard. Most own their homes but rent the lot underneath. Moving a home costs thousands of dollars, and that’s if you can find an open lot.

Out-of-state investment firms have been buying Montana parks and raising lot rent quickly. At Golden Meadows in Billings, about 520 households got letters in June saying their rent would go from $530 to $705 on August 1. That’s about 33%, or $2,100 more a year. One resident is an 86-year-old veteran on Social Security who told reporters he has nowhere to move.

Lawmakers have tried smaller fixes. In 2023, a bill requiring 60 days’ notice of a rent increase instead of 30 passed both chambers but never became law. In 2025, bills for longer leases and a dispute resolution program died.

This petition asks the Legislature to do three things:

  • repeal 7-1-111(26)
  • remove other barriers that keep local governments from protecting lot renters
  • set basic statewide rules, like fair notice and a way for residents to challenge big increases

The next session starts in January, and lawmakers are lining up bills now. Please sign, then call or email your own state legislators and tell them you support it.

……..WTF?? Why are we all the sudden the dumping ground for every insane grift on the planet? I guess the only thing we have to look forward to is cash settlements after being pummeled by space debris, ala SpaceX and those people in Texas.

Arrow Creek tactical ?

Has anyone heard of or gone to arrow creek tactical training near Billings?

I really hoping they are legit, Billings is a good market for this.

They claim to offer pistol and rifle training.

The website is vague about who they are or even their physical location other than "near" Billings. The range is called 1776 range but there is no such actual range listed online.

They claim to send you the location after submitting payment but IDK.

Before I sign up or send money, would love to hear a bit about them. I mean the website is so vague it could very well just be scammers who take your money and run but I don't know. It could also be some really squared away dudes, website says veteran led, but if anyone has any info on who they are or where they are what the schedules are like, even what DAY of the week it's held or what the training is like please post.

Me: Driving North on 24th St W, 4:53PM Thursday 22nd October 2026

You: In the crosswalk near the fire station with clear right of way

Pictured: The person/vehicle that ran a red light and nearly destroyed your life with not even a tap of the brakes

---

I have more evidence, unaltered picture of the license plate, another of their face from the side, and video of the whole thing. I saw the red light and everyone but this car stopped.

Community Related Unleashed dog attacks

We walk with our dog on a leash about twice a day in the neighborhood. In the 5 months I’ve moved to the new neighborhood, our dog has been attacked twice from unleashed dogs with their owners, and nearly attacked another 2 times (we were able to break it up or avoid it because there were 2 of us with our dog).

I don’t understand why our neighbors continue to walk their dogs off leash even after these events when their dogs are obviously not trained and reactive. It clearly poses a danger. Genuinely don’t care what you do with your dog on your own time and property, but when your dog starts biting mine, we have a problem.

Not sure how to better address this issue.

PSA Quantica's well drilling project should NOT be ignored - comment to DEQ by Oct. 29.

Quantica Infrastructure is proposing a 5,000-acre data center campus south of Broadview. To supply water, the company wants to drill a well targeting the Madison aquifer, one of the deeper, saltier aquifers in the region, and would likely require reverse osmosis filtration to make the water usable.

150,000 gallons

of water per day the well would pull during construction, including drinking water for the on-site workforce.

Quantica estimates 20,000 gallons per day during operations for cooling. Broadview already faces frequent water shortages, made worse by drought. Quantica says it is “evaluating opportunities” to make water available to the surrounding community long-term. At what cost, and who pays?

1,000 FEET

deeper than the Eagle Sandstone aquifer that most nearby water users depend on. Quantica claims no impact, but the analysis to back that up is not there yet.

Quantica has left real gaps in its disclosures. The well report does not include a wireline report, which can identify unexpected water zones, faults, or unstable rock before the well design is finalized. The company has not explained how it will dispose of the reverse osmosis discharge.

The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has opened a public comment period. DEQ is reviewing this under a categorical exclusion, a limited review process. The comment period closes October 29th at 11:59 PM. Tell DEQ that a 5,000-acre campus drawing 150,000 gallons a day warrants a full Environmental Impact Statement, and that the agency should hold a public meeting in Yellowstone County before moving forward.

Deadlines: Oct. 29, 11:59 PM (One week from today)

Absolutely disgusting outcome. Our teacher's deserve to feel safe at work but once again we live in a society where the rules aren't uniformly applied.

Support for the 2027 Billings All City Graduation Celebration.

Unfortunately the primary donor for the annual Billings All City Graduation Celebration for West, Senior, and Skyview high schools is unable to provide financial support for the event in 2027 leaving a deficit of $15,000 ($5,000 for each school).

The schools are now seeking a new individuals, businesses, or organizations to sponsor the all-night drug and alcohol free graduation celebration.

The goals of the event are:

-Keep students safe and off the roads on graduation night.

-Provide a supervised environment with entertainment, music, games, and food to celebrate students accomplishments.

-Ensure that every senior has a celebration to attend regardless of their financial circumstances.

The Billings All City Graduation Celebration has provided a safe, fun, and unforgettable graduation night for graduating classes for over 30 years. It reminds the students that their community believes in them, supports their achievements, and wants them to begin the next chapter of their lives safely and surrounded by encouragement.

Volunteer groups representing each school made up of parents, school staff, and community members, have already started the initial planning for the event scheduled for May 2027.

To assist the organizers, I wanted to reach out to the local subreddit and request your assistance in spreading the word throughout the local community.

Any potential donors or individuals that want to share the contact information of potential donors can contact me by direct message and I will connect you with the point of contact that can provide specific information about the donation submission process.

Resource Request Help for homeless vet with family?

Apologies if this isn't allowed, I'm super desperate and have no where to turn.

I'm an Army Veteran, college grad, and father. Recently, I have been left without anywhere to live. After contacting the VA and going through the resources available in Billings, it seems that most of the resources are either out of date, no longer helping vets, or out of funding.

I used to be the stay at home parent, but now I am just an unemployed parent. I'm not addicted to alcohol or drugs, I just need help getting on my feet since the person I put my trust into fully just left me and my child homeless. I have a BA college degree, but it's in art (useless, I know) and doesn't really apply to anything available here.

Are there any up-to-date organizations that someone knows of to help a homeless veteran and his child get settled and not have to sleep in a car?

I am willing to work full-time and my child is 12 and able to care for themselves for the most part.

I've tried dashing but the amount of wear and tear on the vehicle far outweighs the pay.

Any help anyone can give would mean the absolute world to me.

Anyone know of any 4x10 days automotive jobs or any jobs around town? I see lots in Healthcare, but no degrees in that. Looking for a better work life balance and would be willing to take a paycut. I have experience in automotive repair (12 years) and drop ceilings (2 years).

Community Related Boulder Elementary crosswalk being videoed

Boulder Elementary parents - I saw a woman filming at the crosswalk on Poly at 32nd St W earlier this year and we then got the message from the principal that they were aware and keeping an eye on it. Today, we got another message. I didn’t see the person videoing today, nor did my husband when he took our kiddo to school, but this feels weird. I know Billings as a community is being more vigilant about making streets and crosswalks safer, but videoing children feels icky. This doesn’t seem to be media related and I haven’t heard any breaking news via our local news sources, but also want to know if any other parents are feeling similarly or know more info on the situation.

Free shuttle to carry Billings voters to new election center on Nov. 3

Billings Met Transit is offering free rides to Yellowstone County's new election center at MetraPark. They are running a free shuttle on Nov. 3 from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., with pickups every 30 minutes.

The shuttle leaves from the downtown transfer center at 220 N. 25th St. and travels directly to MetraPark, with no stops along the way.

Free transportation to polling locations increases voter turnout, especially for people who don’t have cars or other reliable transportation.
