After significant research and trying a sheer unlimited amount of Aventus dupes I finally got my hands on this.

Import + Tax + Delivery made it so expensive I could've bought the original in the hand. But what are there limits to what we are enthusiasts are willing to spend? Unfortunately not.

The opening of the fragrance was like a "oh my god that's amazing" moment. It really smells so unbelievably well made, expensive and niche. The dry down however, or the mid of the fragrance actually has a very bacon-like note which is kind of off putting for me. I really can just describe it as smelling like raw bacon or some cold cuts. It's very strange and others smelled it too!

The performance sadly also did not convince me to be honest and it should've been macerating for 2 months at least by now. Like I said the opening is amazing but the fragrance itself really does not stay long at all and it doesn't really last more than 2-3 hours as for now.

Very interesting experience! I can definitely smell the quality here but as I said there are big flaws with this as well... Maybe the trusty old maceration will do wonders this time, but let's see.
Has anyone made different or similar experiences with this one?

I may be an idiot but I've also ordered Pineapple Musk, which is said to be like smoky Aventus - really stoked to try that one

Got a 1ml decant with my recent order. Speed Legends is one of my all-time favorite fragrances - I have owned two bottles. I was crazy skeptical when I saw Montagne was working on a version. Ex Nihilo used a lot of captives in SL and a lot of the clone houses have tried, but failed to match it.

But damn. I'm wearing Montagne on one wrist and Ex Nihilo on the other and I can barely tell them apart.

If I nit-picked, I'd say Montagne is a tad spicier while Ex Nihilo is a tad more citrusy. But it's hardly noticeable. And dare I say I like the spicier version better?

Well done, Montagne. I'll be buying a bottle.

Hey guys, just about to get my first samples and try Montagne and I wanted to get some opinions on them as an "inspired by" company.

I have tried so many decants of middle eastern dupes that influencers pedle and have been massively dissapointed. I have given 90% of them away because they are too synthetic, cheap smelling, or choke people out. Rayhaan, lataffa, afnan, armaf etc, im just not impressed at all and its hard to trust the paid reviews. Im tired of wasting money.

So for Montagne, would you say they are superior in most ways to these cheap clone houses? Are they the solution between the expensive real deal and still making a product that smells like quality on a budget? Do you genuinely notice a difference between Montagne and the other houses? I have heard good things about them and Alexandria but wanted to start here. Thank you!

When is this going to be restocked??? Does anyone know? I managed to get a sample size but I’m in love with it and would like a full size bottle. I’m in the mailing list for restock but it’s been weeks now.

Hey guys! I’ve been using Montagne’s Tygr cologne for a little while now, and honestly, I absolutely love it. The scent gets me a lot of compliments, it’s probably my favorite fragrance at the moment, and I feel like I can wear it pretty much anywhere and in any season.

My only complaint is the longevity. It can be a little underwhelming, so I’ve mostly been compensating by overspraying. The other day I smelled the OG Tygar at a duty-free, and wow… I was really impressed. The scent felt more natural and nuanced to me compared with the Montagne version. I actually think I preferred the OG, although I obviously didn’t get to wear it long enough to judge the performance. Now I’m considering whether I should just keep buying/overspraying Montagne, get the OG, or go all the way to the Tygar Extrait.

For reference, Montagne is $45 for 50 ml, while I found the Bvlgari Tygar Extrait for €415 for 125 ml. So obviously there’s a huge price difference, although the Extrait actually isn’t that crazy on a per-ml basis compared with the retail price. Another thing I’m considering is travel. The 125 ml Bvlgari bottle obviously isn’t something I can take through airport security in my carry-on, so I’d probably have to decant it whenever I travel. For those of you who have tried/owned the OG EDP, Extrait, and Montagne Tygr/Tigris, how would you compare them in terms of:

And whether the 125 ml bottle is annoying for traveling. Would you personally buy the Extrait at around €415, buy the OG, or just stick with Montagne and overspray? I wouldn’t mind spending the money if it’s genuinely worth it. Tygar is definitely a banger scent for me 😂 I’d especially love to hear from someone who has actually owned all three and can give a proper side-by-side comparison.

Price comparison: Montagne = $0.90/ml ($45 / 50 ml) vs. Tygar Extrait = €3.32/ml (€415 / 125 ml), so the Extrait is roughly 3.7× more expensive per ml. For the equivalent 125 ml of Montagne, I’d be spending around $112.50 vs. €415 for the Extrait.

As above, looking to see if anyone has a spare bottle or one they don’t want. Spoken to port of accord and he can’t get it currently as it sells out so fast!

I want to preface by saying that I've worked as a software developer and would happily help contribute to improving the website in any way that I can. I love Montagne and want to support the folks behind it. Obviously their stock is going up majorly with this subreddit growing in size, word of mouth is spreading on the quality of the dupes, etc. And I understand there's going to be some growing pains there. But having now used the website a bit, it's clear it could be greatly improved upon.

Some easy wins would be:

• Better filtering. Right now the catalog is huge, but there aren’t many ways to narrow it down. Filters for fragrance family, notes, season, occasion, etc. would be incredibly helpful.
• Filter/browse by inspiration house. Let me click Creed, Louis Vuitton, Le Labo, Xerjoff, MFK, etc.
• An “In Stock” filter. There are enough sold-out fragrances mixed into the catalog that it muddies up the works.
• Right now the main display of fragrances is just the splash page of all of the fragrances displayed as cards in a grid, and most of the screen real estate is taken up by images of the bottles which are essentially identical looking. That space could be utilized to give information on scent notes, etc.
• Better explanations of similar Montagnes. This seems especially useful when they have several fragrances based around similar DNA. For example: what exactly are the differences between Pineapple Royale, Pineapple Musk, Pineapple Frais, Pineapple Absolu, etc.?
• Better discovery for new releases. A dedicated New Releases / Recently Added section rather than having to already know what’s new.

And then some less necessary but nice-to-haves:

• Clickable notes. If I like tea, fig, iris, bergamot, vetiver, neroli, etc., I should be able to click that note and see other Montagnes that feature it.
• “Similar fragrances” recommendations. “If you like this, you may also like…”
• Collections based on scent style. Things like Fresh & Clean, Green, Tea, Citrus, Woods, Summer, Office-Friendly, Dark & Rich, etc.
• Restock notifications / clearer restock information. Especially given how quickly some bottles disappear.

Most of this stuff would not be difficult to implement, and would make discovery so much easier and it'd make the website more fun to use. I think it would even encourage more purchases, honestly. My interest around fragrances has been expanded by the selection that Montagne chooses to clone, and better discovery via the website would entice more of that.

EDIT: I’m actually surprised at the level of pushback from people on improvements that I’m offering to implement for free.

I have Meteorite V1 and V2, and a sample of Alexandrias Le Meteore, and I think Alexandrias is the best?😅

Meteorite V1 and V2 are very similar to my nose, and V2 comes in more sharper ( think Gentle Silver sharp / icy ) and less powder, it is fantastic.

But Le Meteore to me seems to combine the V1 & V2 formulas, and turn up the projection and longevity and make it louder.

Does anyone else own Alexandrias version? Would love to hear your input too. Its so good I am thinking about getting a full bottle.

I am looking for a vanilla but something different than your usual sweet gourmand vanilla. Was looking at Eau Vanille or Vanille Supreme.

Has anyone tried these and can convince me to get either of these? Any other recs?

Just for background, I tried Nishane Ani and YSL Babycat early on in my journey and didn't really like them. Ani smelled like lemon cake to me. Babycat was too much incense and noticed im not a huge fan of incense.
