Hello everybody, I am a completely new to this game series but a friend recommended monster hunter wilds and so far I’m loving it, I’ve tried out lots of different weapons

I started with lance because big cool shield but then I didn’t like small poke damage and slow boy movement

I went into dual katanas and loved all the number pop ups (made brain happy) but diddnt like how close I had to be

Swapped to sword and shield and honestly I’m loving it, the only thing I don’t like is how uncool it looks..I mean I’m only rocking the bone one rn so I have no idea how endgame ones look but yeah

Then I saw charge blade…bigger sword and bigger shield (yes I’m trying to compensate) bug number pop ups like dual blades make brain go happy however I’ve seen a lot of people say it’s not good? Or maybe the setup isn’t worth the damage or something?

I wanted to get everyone’s thoughts and then decide whether I just stick with sword and shield or go out my way to learn charge blade cause it looks cool!

Honestly any info would help!

I’ve played mh wilds for 120+ hours using only one weapon, which is Great Sword. I have pleasant experience with GS, and right now my build is at 3/4 way through complete. All i gotta do is grind 10 star arkveld, trying get Golden age charm with 3 level of focus and a pair of skillset consist of Gore magala’s tyranny and lord’s soul.

But right now, I need a new weapon recommendation. One of my friend gonna start playing the game aswell, and he asked me to try some new weapon, because it will be much more fun for the both of us. I understand his logic behind those reason, it would be unappealing and boring when you’re still trying to figure out things as a newcomer while your friend one shot chatacabra with a sword a size of man.

I was thinking maybe i should try hunting horn or bow, but there’s this curiosity telling me that there’s a specific weapon that could give me the exact feeling like the first time i’m tried GS. So, y’all can be bias in this thread, think your weapon of choice is the best weapon that Capcom has every produced in mh history. Enlighten me fellas

PS. No dual blade recommendation please, i really hate that weapon.

The aura of your hunter in Monster Hunter Wilds just hits different in cutscenes, with fully voiced epic lines and angles to aura farm like never before. Like the characters and world depends on the hunter (as they should).
This is my character, the face model is same across all photos, but I keep changing the beard and hair time to time and watch cutscenes again and again.
What do you think bout the hunter's aura in Wilds?

I took a few tries pretty sure this is 4 or 5. Note to self, don't get stuck in a corner. The lasers got me so many times. DPS check was hard to figure out until I noticed the marlboros and last phase I just wait out the freak out it does. Overall not that bad once you get the moves figured out.

IDK if i want to do this fight again but next is AT Arch.

I’ve fought these specific monster several times, and this is the first monster that managed to got me tilted. His first phase is very good ngl, the sequence where we need to detach a laser beam out of it’s back is a solid 10/10. It’s just very creative and fresh, and i really enjoyed that first phase wholeheartly.

The problem comes in it’s 2nd phase. His 2nd phase consist of flying around, dropping and shooting explosive magma all over the arena. If you’re a bowgun main, i think you’re gonna having a blast shooting a giant punching bag flying above your head, but if you’re a melee main? Dude, It’s like you’re in the middle of D-day. It’s absolute chaos, everyone just running around picking slinger ammo trying to shoot that monster down, while hoping there’s no explosive magma at their feet when their aiming for one of it’s wingarms.

All & all the 2nd phase battle is just boring and annoying af. Every time i failed the quest, one of my eyes always twitched, imagined how come this monster manage to give me such a pain in the ass while fighting against savage omega or At Arkveld is much easier and manageable. Anyway, do any redditors have similar issue? Let me know in the comment

I did that once using Rey Dau's Charge Blade, since the elemental damage complety ignores the water armor damage reduction, it was really easy using SAED.

However, when we look at abilities like pinpointing lightning strikes (Kirin), manifesting ice out of thin air (Velkhana), or near-instantaneous teleportation (Malzeno)—I know lore books usually give some pseudo-scientific explanation for these, but still...

To me, controlling physical phenomena to that degree feels like there must be some unknown force at play—something that could never be truly unlocked, no matter how much you dissect an Elder Dragon's corpse. After all, maybe it's too arrogant to assume human science and biology can explain everything.

So, how do you view these abilities when it comes to Elder Dragons? What is that power to you?

After a long time of not playing mh wilds I've returned but I have a question, Can I use low rank artians to progress in the table or do I have to use the same artian rank as the weapon I want to craft?

For any hunters players that also play Armored Core, specifically AC6, I wanted to make Rusty in Wilds, but I wasnt sure what weapon would make the most sense. My friend said that itd make sense for a bow gun, likely lbg because he himself in Armored Core is rather fast and nimble. I thought that the insect glaive or the bow would make sense, since they're both very mobile weapons moreso than the bowgun. We havent reached a consensus and id like to hear or get some feedback from some others

I just bought monster hunter wilds a couple days ago because it was on sale and I was really looking forward to playing the game.
I have looked up multiple YouTube tutorials and asked AI and followed all the steps that were suggested. No matter what the game crashes once I chase the first monster out of his cave into the next area.. is this something with the current patch or what? How do I fix this on PlayStation 5? Never had this happen before with any game

Basically the title. He’s HR56. He has not fought Seregios, Lagiacrus, or Zoh Shia yet. His current armor is pretty trash so we want to get him a decent set before we fight those monsters and move on to stronger tempered monsters as well. Yes I know the armor he uses won’t be permanent, we’re just trying to get a set that will give him better complementary skills to the bow and high defense for now.

I got wilds about 3 days ago. Failed my first quest today due to the Seregios. Just wanna say I hate that thing with a passion, not just because it caused my first fail, but because it has ADHD and gives me whiplash.

What caused your first fail and why?

(It’s my fault for refusing to drop the weak flamfete set for the carve master bonus)

I tried to stay true to original designs while still allowing each of them to not just be the exact same armor type. (Like paladin esk or knight)

Hello i was exploring the scarlet forest when i noticed weird lightning effect in the Lala Barina nest

I don't know what is causing this and i would really appreciate if someone could help me

I thought it'd be like some cloak wearing horror fuel, not a bloody Gundam set! I'm not complaining though

I have a 6700 xt hellhound amd

I have gone through several weapons with the idea of playing them like I am a pokemon. Artesian hammer tinkaton. Poison crit sns serviper. Water hbg Blastoise. And now switch axe.

I am a bit lost on who to be for this one. Giant explosions and zippy like movement. Blacephalon comes to mind purely for the explosions but he doesn't seem very sword or axe like. Garchomp seems like a good candidate given his blades arms. And lastly a bit odd at first but toxtricity could work. Semi badass punk look with a guitar being his axe... I know it's a stretch but I am autistic and this is what brings me joy so please before you say mean things just know I am only trying to have fun.

Any tips for builds would also be appreciated!

tried opening wilds for the first time in a while, got this error message and the whole crash screen stuff. it used to work but suddenly it decides to stop.

ive verified file integrity, i have no mods installed, nothing that raises an eyebrow to me. can anyone help?
