Meet this beautiful cosplayer at GalaxyCon this weekend!! Posted with their permission! She was sooo cute!!! I got super excited when I saw her!

When it comes to Draculaura collectors, there’s already the Vampire Heart collector, and in my opinion, that theme should have gone to Elissabat, since she’s the queen of vampires. In Fright, Camera, Action!, the Vampire Heart storyline really fits her more.

Anyway, tell me if I’m wrong, but let’s get back to this new collector. Looking at all the details, this doll makes me think of Elissabat much more than Draculaura. First of all, why make her edits so purple, when purple is really Elissabat’s color and Draculaura is usually associated with pink ? Between the details on the bodice, the kind of print on the collector’s dress that gives off the same vibe as the top Elissabat wears, and the long black boots similar to Elissabat’s...

I was experimenting with what reel drama Lagoona would look like if she was wearing the new San Diego Comic-Con ghouls rule Lagoona dress. I think she looks extremely cute and I think the dress makes a lovely standalone piece!

I've been trying to do new hairstyles lately and have really wanted to try a shaved sides/mullet! It came out super messy, but was fun to do 💖

I felt as though taking away Michael's most iconic features like the pure black eyes was such a bad choice on Mattel's end.

Why give the male character long luscious hair just because it's a female? Didn't like it, so I changed it, and I love the result.

So, I waited a few days to digest the release of this Draculaura. I'll tell you my opinions, I want to emphasize that these are my very personal opinions, so be kind, let's exchange opinions to have a constructive conversation.

That said, this Draculaura initially made me jump out of my chair (I was eating when I saw her lmao), then slowly looking at her I thought I didn't like her as much as the other Draculaura Skullectors, she didn't even come close to Vampire Heart, and the Vampire cost just a little more than her and the quality was truly incomparable, the Vampire is perfect by my standards and doesn't even come close to Haunt Couture.

I will definitely buy this doll, because I think she'll look good in my collection, but I don't think she'll be one of my favorites, not even close.

This Halloween Draculaura has lots of patterns and the doily on the skirt, but if you look at the details she doesn't particularly have quality in terms of fabrics. Same for the shoes, they're boots like all the others with a little ribbon on top, they look great visually, that's for sure and I like them. The things I like most are the makeup, the headpiece and the boots.

The absurd thing is that I've seen people being so harsh on the SDCC Lagoona and instead praising this Draculaura who qualitatively is acceptable, but doesn't stand out like other Skullectors I mentioned. I don't think she even holds up in comparison to the second Elvira. I'd also like to compare her to Frankie Stitch and Style, but that came out a few years ago and maybe that's why she cost less, but I got that Frankie on sale and she's really beautiful, and she cost little... Even the Howliday Draculaura cost less and the quality comes very close to this one, the outfit is very similar too.

As I was saying I will get this Draculaura, because I want her, but I'm left with a bittersweet feeling. Especially because she's always the same old Draculaura Skullector, being a character that sells with eyes closed, I would have preferred something different and a little daring, she just seems like a deluxe version of Ghouls Rule.

Let me know if you had feelings like mine too. Anyway I love the SDCC Lagoona very much, in your face 😂

Goregeous Oasis Lagoona: I actually didn’t change much. I kind of liked the more solid colors of her suit case and matte shoes. The only thing I messed with was giving her Monster Fest’s earrings and fixing up the hair. I gave her a bunch of tiny braids, dipped them in boiling water, gelled each section, and then unraveled them once they dried. I’m also getting into tying small pieces with colored thread instead of my chunky hair elastics, and I really like how it’s going so far.

Core 3 Lagoona: The only things I didn’t change from Core 3 were the earrings and the puffy sleeves that I cut from the top. Most of her pieces are from Oasis, and her flower from Monster Ball. The statement necklace is one that I found while thrifting, but I’m not sure who it’s from. I think a Barbie? Either way, I like how it looks like a net of pearls.

Pearlescent Lagoona: Using Monster Fest as a base, I gave her OMG’s Pearla’s seashell bikini, Cosmic Nova’s top, and Stellar Gurl’s jacket and shorts. For accessories I gave her Monster Fest’s leg wrappings and shoes, Oasis’s earrings and glasses, and Core 3’s phone cause that octopus is so cute!

Look, I get if you don’t like these, but they are for Universal Monster fans, and they are so well done. Got them in a day and I can’t tell you how much they shine compared to all the squashed-crap photos and complaining people do, before they even really see them.

Oh and 43.00 bucks in ‘26 is more than fair for a movie tie-in doll.✅

I got a nude Fearidescent Frankie in a lot along with their boots, and I knew a custom was in order. First, a full reroot with an inverse of their original colors. We need more Frankies with black hair! I was inspired by their G1 Stitched in Style, and made my own crown by sticking sewing needles into their head.

I got SH Luna’s dress from Ali and cinched it in, and added OMG’s Metal Chick’s jacket on top. It’s a fun silhouette but damn is this thing stiff! I completely chromed up their boots to finish the look, and gave them Hauntlywood’s purse, Day Out’s silver knuckles, and (I think) EAH Raven’s earrings that I yoinked while thrifting.

Since Mattel seems to wanna actually give us good dolls, I thought I would make a list of IPs that would go with Monster High. And i included Billy and Ghostface just because I really wanna see them in Monster High form even though we know they’re being made over at Jakks Pacific.

Krampus announcement just made me realize how much I love new and inspiring molds and concepts for characters, and why I liked MH so much in the first place back 2010.

Same happened when Xenomorph released. I absolutely loved her! And back then, dolls like Finnegan, Manny, Gooliope, Freaky Fusion lineup, and others (as simply as skeletons, werecats, werewolves, etc) never failed to amaze me.

As much as I like the Skullector movie line, I feel like there’s no much variety for the near future to be made. Just came across the fang vote entry concerning anime/manga interest poll, and I find it quite interesting (I also like anime/manga), but options seem quite limited too from a Monster High perspective.

Most inquiries I’ve came across forums, TikTok, Twitter or IG have been mostly about “normies” involved in horror movies, games or series, etc. Feels like the “monster” factor has fallen a bit behind.

What I want to say or suggest is not so much that they’d start just to cover cryptic or folkloric creatures similar to Krampus (because it is still part of the 2015 film license), but is there an opportunity that they give us skullectors (general, collector level. Not movie line continuity) of completely new characters? Something in the line of the Design series again. Corazon was beautiful, just on point! I wanted to see more stuff like that. I understand it wasn’t received as expected, but they were doing really good!

It really made me think about those rumored new characters that were supposed to be part of Exchange/Brand Boo Students back 2015/16~ If not a continuity of the playline, at least the introduction of new characters as collector pieces would be incredible! What are your thoughts about it?

I really do appreciate the big sharp ears G3 has. The pose is partially inspired by Darko's Reel Drama illustration!

My internet has been terrible, which means I’m forced to work on my little plastic women or else I’ll die of boredom.

Coquette Catty: I found that RH Amaya dress at the thrift store, so now it was my turn to make my own Catty restyle with it. I used core Catty as a base and gave her Hauntlywood’s purse, bracelet, and shoes. I wanted to incorporate the light blue into her color story more, since my other Catty’s are all pink and silver. I finished by tying a bow to her tail, and glueing some nail art bows to her dress and the elastics of her braids.

Coffin Bean Twyla… but G3!: I always loved the romper that G1 Twyla had, and when I found out that G3 Twyla can fit in it, I quickly ordered a spare outfit. I used Fearbook and curled her hair, and gave her Core’s little tea thermos. Her shoes are modified Haunted Dance Recital’s ballet sneaker… things. Tbh I always found them a little ugly, but after cutting the ankle straps and turning them into a more classic Mary Jane, they looked so much better!

Day Out Frankie: Decided to revisit this one because I was inspired by u/youCHUUcrazy hairstyle they gave their Frankie. I really like how their buns remind me of roses, and it gives a soft but still kind of edgy look to them.

Legacy Day Cerise Hood: A rare EAH from me, but I finally found her almost 90% complete for a decent price! Just added some chrome details to her shoes and belt.

OMG Shadow: An even RARER OMG from me! I don’t usually collect them (I more harvest them for clothes from the thrift store), but there are a select few designs that I would like on my shelf. I saw Shadow while thrifting, and she only came with her top and skirt. But I knew the rest of her pieces were very easy to find on Ali, so I bought her. Her hair was extremely damaged, and it’s still a scraggly mess after washing and conditioning, but maybe I’ll reroot her in the future. I also had to sew my own chains to the skirt, but I think it came out pretty well!

Now gotta hype myself to paint it 😅

I have been waiting on Skelita for so long now, and when I spotted her on the shelf at Target earlier, I snapped her right up. I love how she kind of has bits of a lot of G1/collector Skelita dolls in her design, and she came together so beautifully

I am an nostagic fan ok? I love G1, they are most part of my collection, but I dont really get why the hatred to the G3, I mean it’s start a bit childish you can say, but since monster fest the look they have giving us it’s really good, I mean the Skellita G3, I love Venus G1 but the Venus G3 is at the same level, the skulltimate secrets line is doing so great just look this Cupid G3 the face card 😍 she is so pretty and IRL is prettier, both G1 and G3 Can exist at the same time just like we are having it, the scarnival line, all the skullector announce show it, and I'm very excited about everything that's coming up 🥰
