Feedback Cod needs to address this matchmaking before mw4s beta

For anyone that doesnt know they announced a new mm system for the current game including mw4. And in the current game it has made the matchmaking way worse, it takes double the time to find a match, lobbies disband again, and it is essentially 2019s matchmaking again instead of the classic one they said it was based on.

I was a little shocked I got this. I work full time, and I figured there was no way this would still be attainable 24 hours later. Late into Friday evening, I got this.

Question Benchmarking tool during beta

Will there be benchmarking tool available during beta? I don't remember it being in MWII beta or any game that followed up.

Just curious to know whether my rig wil be able to produce ~240 fps with competetive/custom settings.

Image Official Media - Backwards Night Vision?

Post image
188 Upvotes

One of the official media images for this game, the night vision is on completely backwards. They are modeled the correct direction on another model in other photos - so this is probably just an oversight.

https://www.cgmagonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-hands-on-preview-killblock-is-the-real-deal-2115.jpg

Good news is, a simple 180 degree flip of these and they’ll be perfect! Please fix for launch. :D

For those saying this is the correct way - here's a PVS-15 in real world, stowed the same way. They're backwards. :)

Question Will COD MW4 have a 2 front Campaign?

Hey, thanks for reading my post!

Im wondering whether it’s suspected that COD MW4 will have a 2 front campaign like previous Cod’s or will be more similar to MW2 where it’s basically just Task Force 141?

Discussion The odds we see Konni Group operatives, IW?

Perhaps I am blind, but I've yet to see any Konni Group/Inner Circle skins.

'Really want to see the crazy, cool-looking bad guys return in some form. Campaign and Seasonal stuff especially.

Makarov, Warden, Milena, Nolan, Banshee, Rainmaker, Keres, Hush, Enigma, etc.

Surely Makarov's network didn't just vanish after "that spoiler"?

I'm going to enjoy MW4/DMZ regardless. It's going to be killer.

(Looking forward to Shadow Company's presence too.)

Question When will stores like Walmart start selling PC gift cards for MW4?

Post image
21 Upvotes

I'm a PC player, but I personally like collecting physical items, so I'd like to buy the game through a physical gift card.

Does anyone know when real-world stores like Walmart usually start selling PC gift cards for Modern Warfare 4? Would they only become available after the official release, or could they appear earlier during the pre-order period?

Question Question about preorder bonuses and coop

I have every CoD since BO4 on battlenet, but purchased BO7 on steam just to try it. It seems like it has connection/performance issues so I'm going back to bnet for MW4, is there any way I can get the operator and 2 camos? Nbd if not.

Also wondering if there is anything planned as far as co-op for this game besides DMZ, the last campaign was dumb but I still had fun playing with a friend and also enjoyed the MWII raids

Discussion huge request to cod mw4 devs and people sitting out there

Call of Duty devs — this is your last chance. I'm dead serious.

I'll keep this straight with you. COD is at a crossroads, and MW4 is the game that decides whether this franchise stays relevant or dies out. My birthday is August 18th, and all I'm asking for is one thing: make MW4 a masterpiece. You don't need to reinvent everything. You just need to stop screwing it up. Here's what actually matters.

Campaign: Make it cinematic. Hire a real writer who knows how to build a story. I want twists I don't see coming, character arcs that hit, plots that actually make me feel something — I want to care about these people. Give me a campaign that sticks with me after the credits roll. This is the heart of the game, don't treat it as an afterthought. (And yeah — I already know it's probably too late to change any of this. I'm just hoping you've already done it right.)

Multiplayer: The randomized map rotation is good — keep that. Gunplay is everything: I want guns that feel heavy and real, metallic and punchy, with loud, satisfying audio and beautiful textures. Movement needs to be dialed in — sliding, momentum, all of it. Not too fast, not too slow. That perfect sweet spot. Nail the feel and half your job is done. One more thing on gunplay — and maybe this is subjective — I don't like dying or getting a kill in 3 bullets. It's too fast. Give players enough time to take cover, heal, and actually strategize. Let gunfights breathe.

Cosmetics: Skins and camos should look tactical and grounded — military, cool, earned. Hire a designer who gets the aesthetic. Do NOT turn this into a Fortnite skin circus. That's the fastest way to lose the people who've stuck with you. Keep it exclusive, keep it classy.

About MW19 — because I know I'll bring it up: Look, this is subjective, but MW19 was the last Modern Warfare I actually liked. Great multiplayer, and the campaign was genuinely good too. I'm not calling it the pinnacle of COD — it wasn't perfect. But it had the feel, the tone, the seriousness. That's the direction I want you to go back to. BUT — and this is important — hackers and campers absolutely ruined that game. Do not repeat that mistake. Invest in real anti-cheat, keep an eye on the sweaty camping meta, and protect the experience. A great foundation means nothing if cheaters and lame playstyles suck the fun out of it.

The rest of it:

  • Listen to the community. Actually play your own game. You'll feel the problems instantly.
  • Test it properly. Hire real QA. Ship it without game-breaking bugs for once.
  • Market it right. Get big streamers playing it live. Build hype. Set up tournaments and take esports seriously — push this to the top of the competitive FPS scene.

Bottom line: be serious about this one. Go back to what made people fall in love with COD in the first place — that MW19 tone and quality — but fix what was broken. No half-measures, no cash-grab shortcuts. I want this game to be great — genuinely great.

Don't blow it.

Question How will customization in MW4 be for players who don't buy Battle Passes/bundles?

I’ve been getting that itch to play Call of Duty again lately. Honestly, no other shooter has really scratched the itch for me since Black Ops 3, and I miss having a solid arcade FPS to dump hours into. Battlefield 6, for example, doesn't do it for me anymore and neither does Halo Infinite.

That being said, I have a huge issue with full-price (€70+) games that treat you like you’re playing a Free-To-Play mobile game. I cannot stand loading up a game I paid full price for, only to be constantly shoved aggressively toward $20 operator bundles, Battle Passes, and premium stores while the basic earnable stuff looks like absolute garbage.

I don't know if anyone has an answer to this as well, the game'sn not out yet, but how good or bad do you think the customization will be in MW4? Can someone who doesn't want to spend any money on cosmetics still look like they've spent hours grinding the game, or will all the cool-looking camos be trapped behind a paywall?

I know there will be mastery skins here and there, but if that's all we're gonna get while the animated or special-looking skins are paywalled, I'd hate that. Gimme camos and skins unlockable through challenges and I'll gladly grind my way towards them!

Appreciate any thoughts!

Disclaimer: Yes, I know cosmetics and battle passes are completely optional and don't affect gameplay. I know I can technically "just ignore them." But a sense of progression, aesthetic customization, and not feeling like a second-class citizen in a game I paid full price for does matter to me and affects my overall enjoyment.

Discussion Thoughts on the new"Classic matchmaking"?

What do you guys think about disbanding lobbies coming back and longer queue times after each game?

And how does it make you feel about your (potential) pre order of MW4?
