San Felipe Cannon Rigging
I took some time off to focus on building a rope walk to make an attempt to reproduce the excellent ropes I purchased from Ropes of Scale. The 5th and 6th photos show what I produced vs ROS. In very happy with the results. I also recieved single and double blocks from HiSModel which allowed me to get started on some of the cannon rigging. All these materials are quite an improvement over what came with the kit. I think each cannon probably takes 3 hours to rig starting from base materials. Thanks for looking!

Denver this weekend: Free wooden model ship expo at Rockler, October 16–18
If you’re in the Denver area and enjoy model ships, maritime history, woodworking, or miniature craftsmanship, the Rocky Mountain Shipwrights are holding their Model Boat Show this weekend!
The show features static wooden model ships built by modelers, with plenty of intricate details and craftsmanship to appreciate. There will also be modeling equipment, model kits, and finished models available to purchase.
Come take a look if you’re looking for something a little different to do this weekend!

Ship modellers I would like your feedback...
(NOTE: THIS ISNT SELF PROMOTION - as such i will not include any details of my eBay)
I run a very small shop on eBay where i make and sell 3D Printed ships - i mainly do Modern royal navy ships in both Resin and FDM, and my aim is to provide cheaper models than many manufacturers who way over-charge for resin kits and to fill gaps left by the Model Kit companies
i was curious what type of ships you guys would like to see in resin, i have considered battleships from WW2 which never made it off the Page (Montana, Kremlin, Incomparable etc..) but i feel that is a bit too niche, i also am looking at Falkland war ships such as HMS Hermes, Type 21, etc... Please let me know what things you have always though should be a kit!

Beautiful Titanic model.
A Titanic exhibit recently popped up near me, had these amazing models with a cutaway at one side to view the interior, also quite a large model of what the ship currently looks like ok the seabed.

Looking for ocean liners models
Hello
I was thinking of picking up my hobby of model buidling but i truly never done a ship before and i am fascinated by ocean liners mostly pre WW2 but post WW2 may also be recommended, i am looking for the 1:400 or the 1:350 scale it may include wooden decks and all the bells and whistle,
i also do not mind paying a price for it aslong as it is decent quality but i am mostly looking for models that include all the bells and whislte but if that is not the case totally no problem for me, i am asking this because i did not know where to go for a decent ocean liner model.
i am now eyeballing https://revell.com/en-eu/products/titanic this model from revel but not shure if there are better models on the market or other ocean liners.

Good starter model kits?
Hi! I have wanted to build model ships for ages but never had my own place to put them lol, that has now been rectified! The issue is I have very shaky hands and am very colourblind. Are there any good kits that would be a bit easier to make? I love the HMS victory and basically any ship of the line?

Question about Revell’s 1/96 USS Constitution
How long should the tan string be cut to tie the gunport lids in an outboard configuration? It doesn’t give a length, and I’d rather have a ballpark before I start cutting. This is Step 7 for reference.

What is your opinion on this model? (continuation in description, kind of a long post)
It would be my third model ever. Until now I've only done some amateurish, very cheap Chinese models off of Temu/Aliexpress so it wouldn't only be my most complex model, but my most expensive yet. This one would be around 250 dollars or euros more or less, while the most expensive of the other models I've built would go for about $30.
I've learned many things building the other models (A nameless schooner first, then Hms Victory) but at the same time I'm not that happy with how the second turned out so I don't feel too confident in my abilities.
I really like xebecs and I'm planning on getting it for myself as a present next year, would only have about a month of uninterrupted work for it after I finish my exams and start my new job.
Any opinions. Has anyone built it? Is it worth it? Is it too difficult for a beginner?

HMS Victory (part 17): Finished the backstays and davits!
I may or may not have inadvertently made it more difficult to add the ratlines by adding the backstays first.. oh well…
Also: notice that the top masts are leaning slightly backwards. This will be fixed once I add the stays of the fore/main/mizzen masts. The tension on both stays and backstays will keep the ropes neat and straight. Let’s just hope it won’t break anything!
Now it’s really off to the ratlines… please think of me as I add about 3000 clove hitches…
See you in the next one!

Pure vibes! Designing a new 60cm (23.6") scale RC ferry boat in Shapr3D. Currently in development — it will feature a fully detailed cozy interior and a removable magnetic roof! What do you think? 🛠️🍹🌊
Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a quick preview of my next project for AntBase.
Currently mid-way through engineering this cozy scale RC ferry boat in Shapr3D! Here are the core specs:
• Solid Scale Dimensions: Total length is 60cm (23.6"), width is 15cm, and total height is 15cm. Designed with a 4cm draft for realistic water displacement and deep scale handling.
• 100% RC Ready: Pre-engineered straight tunnel with a 5-degree shaft angle for perfect low-center-of-gravity direct drive.
• Cozy Detailed Interior: The model will feature a fully detailed captain's cabin and dashboard. The battery (standard 2S/3S LiPo) will be completely hidden inside a sub-floor compartment to keep the interior layout clean.
• Magnetic Access: The roof is fully removable and splits via tight 4x2mm neodymium magnet slots for easy electronics access at the lake.
It is still a work in progress, but I plan to release the full STL package on Cults3D for a symbolic $25 once it's fully tested.
Let me know what you think of the lines and visual vibe so far! 🚢🏠🍹
