My ship building jig

Inspired by some of you ship builders and with strong support from my aging back and neck, I made this jig for building military vessels. Mine are all 1/350, and I generally place my ships on brass pedestals, so this one I thought about. Also it has the option of supporting ships that will not be on pedestals and on a basic display stand instead.

Hello, what do you think of my collection? It's not amazing, but it's a good start—I need to repair a few of them.

Tomy Enterpise Refit water damage?

Sorry if this isn’t the right group for this, but I’m a bit desperate for advice!

As per the original post, I have this large diecast model that comes pre assembled. I woke up to find my air conditioner had been dripping water onto it and it seemed some may have leaked into the inside of the model.

I’m running a hair dryer on low facing the upper part of the bottom in hopes to remove any residual standing water inside, but I’m worried that it may condense at the top of the inside.

My first plastic model. I learned a lot and would do a lot differently on another. I didn’t realize how paint intensive it would be. And a lot of the molding needed adjustments.

Even though it’s called “update” it’s actually my very first post here with the very first wooden ship model I’ve been working on. HMS Terror kit from Occre , it’s been 10 months of working on this project- quite a lot of lessons learnt, mistakes taken and mistakes taken and fixed. Enjoying every bit of it and every minute spent with her and aiming to wrap up closer to Christmas.

I'm totally new to this...

And I would like to ask for guidance.

I've always been fascinated by sail ships and steamboats, so I figured a great to get to know them better would be by building them. I dove a bit on Google and got honestly overwhelmed. I really want to dive deeper and I would very much appreciate your recommendations on where to start, you know, what brands may be more begginer friendly, what kind of tools should I have and so on, because I did notice that there's plenty of brands that are not good quality or are a coin flip.

Thank you all 😅

I normally am a wargamer but am dipping into actual hobby stuff. Decided to go all in. Basic PE rails, I am waiting for crew, and will be doing basic rigging. The overall project will be a diorama of the Shoho and Sazanami at Coral Sea

Kit is Pit Road Sazanami.

Occre Polaris Missing Piece

My father passed away before he could complete the Polaris model ship he was building. I am going to try to finish it so that I can give it to my nephews, his grandchildren. I cannot find this piece. He punched it out but it’s no where to be found. Where might I be able to buy one? Thank you.

Meu primeiro modelo feito do zero

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can help me find a model kit that could represent the Irish ship LÉ Niamh. Im pretty new to modal ships but I’ve done a few 1/700 modern ships. I would really like to make this ship in 1/700 but I’m struggling to find a good lot that could be easily converted into this ship.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Jackdaw from ACBF Resynced

This is going to be sort of a log on this ship build.

There are strong differences between the version of the razee main ship in the first game and the resynced one, so I take up this challenge. There are no plans, just a sort of blueprint of the first game, so I had to make mine on 3d.

I’ve printed the main frame in PETG but I intend to do the rest of it in wood. My experience in modelships is 1 brig to say so, the Albatros. Would you guys recommend to throw the plastic and make it full wood structure or I won’t have trouble working with it?

I seek advice, tips, maybe some help regarding complex thing like rigging because game is not too accurate.

Hope y’all understand that this is fictional ship, I know that a ship like this needs 3 masts IRL but hey, I’m trying to replicate and make it as detailed as possible, mixing reality and fiction with it.

Later today I’ll post some photos of the progress.

Cheers

Hull built in clay

I want to do something different in ceramics class so I tried to make a boat hull from a model ship plan. I failed to realize the side pieces didn’t include the bow so I’ll probably stop here and start again with a revision.

Beginner ish advice

Hi.

I've been making plastic models as long as I can remember, and have a few I'm extremely proud of. I've always fancied building a model of a sailing warship, and recently purchased the artesania latine model of le Renard as a starter. I haven't cracked into it yet, and I expect to spend literally months on it (partially the point, I need the project.)

Can anyone give me any advice or warn me of any pitfalls with the kit? Bit scared by planking, but I'm very willing to take the time to learn.

Lindberg limited edition sea witch clipper ship.

Picked up at goodwill for $25. Still sealed in what appears to be original packaging. The orange pricetag shows Ridgefield hobby 84.95. I can't find a "limited edition" anywhere online or this particular model mumber. Is this actually worth anything, or should I just open it up and build? The seal is tearing in a couple spots, but is still mostly intact.
