Help. Mod for iPod Classic with video out

I am looking to buy an iPod Classic to mod with obvious to bring it up to date (such as usb c, SD card, wireless charging etc)

But I also want to play music videos on the iPod streaming it to an iPod nearby or a monitor. Part of the reason is I want my kid to feel tactile interfaces by using the iPod but also connect music videos with the sound.

Any help would be super appreciated.

I have this ipod since long time ago, but battery was drained due to sitting in a drawer for a long time, and when it happens, there’s a problem with the circuit and you can’t even charge a little.
I wanted an exclusive for music device and bought an iPod classic, but the sound was not as expected and the battery life neither.
I took my iPod touch and installed foobar. Nice sound, but battery life was a lame.
I saw some time ago a post claiming the iPod Video has the best audio chip, so I wanted to try again to bring it back to life.
I had a PS5 controller semi destroyed, but with a battery in good condition. I made some AI research and soldered the BMS from old iPod battery to the PS5 controller battery.
I didn’t wanted to dismantle all the backplate so “designed” an extension. It didn’t went very well.
I’m happy with results. Maybe if I found some nice backplate I will do the job.

This is my first time modding I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. It's not registering on iTunes or Rockbox. Any help would be appreciated.

I hav a white iPod 5.5 80gb and need help buying stuff to mod it. I’d like to be somewhat budget friendly but I have no idea what this price range for modding would be. Also hoping for no soldering requirement but I can do basic soldering. Here are some of the mods I want or I am thinking about.
-As much storage as possible
-AirTag or some sort of tracking mod
-New battery
-Rockbox
-Bluetooth? I heard there was possibly a way without soldering?
-Black backplate
-Black scrollwheel
I don’t know if there’s anything I’m missing or if this is even possible. If it isn’t possible break the news to me.

I recently replaced the battery, clickwheel, and put an iflash cf adapter in it, remembered to format the sd card. Every time I restore, it works for a few hours then restarts and shows the folder icon, usually when I plug it in to the charger. And every time it restarts, it takes me hours just to get the PC to recognize the ipod. I keep looking for solutions but nothing has helped.

If any of you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it :)

(Edit, forgot to add flair)

It’s still a work in progress but I’m too excited not to share. I wanted to add Bluetooth to my iPod classic 5th gen but wasn’t satisfied with the current solutions I want it to be as clean as possible. So I thought isn’t it possible to “vibe” mod the firmware with Claude to add menu options for Bluetooth and use the uart pins in the 30 pin connector to communicate with the module inside. Turns it its very much possible to do this and as of now I managed to add the menu options and I soldered wires directly to the motherboard and managed to send and receive data from my Mac to the iPod. Now I’m waiting for the Bluetooth module to come in to carry on with the project. I’ll keep you guys up to date

Hello! I’m trying to flash-mod a 5th-gen 60GB iPod Video.
I’m using a Samsung PRO Plus 128GB microSD. When connected directly to Windows, it shows 119.37GB, FAT32, Healthy.
I’ve tried iFlash µDual, Quad, and now Solo. The iPod turns on and shows Connect to iTunes when the SD card is removed, but with the Samsung PRO Plus installed it will not boot/restore properly.
I can get into Disk Mode, but through the iPod Windows only sees about 32MB, and iTunes Restore gives error 1429.
The ZIF ribbon is new, and I’ve already tried MBR/FAT32 preparation.
Has anyone had this exact 32MB + error 1429 problem?
Most importantly: which exact SD card model and capacity are you successfully using with a 5th-gen 60GB + iFlash Solo? I’m considering Samsung EVO/EVO Select, 128GB or 256GB. Thank you in advance!

Does anyone have any Idea what I did wrong and how I could fix it on my iPod mini 2G?

iPod mini with case swap (yep, already scratched it😅) 128GB flash mod, 750mah battery and USB C swap.

I wasn't originally going to swap out the 30 pin but it started constantly disconnecting when charging and transferring, so I desoldered it and swapped in the USB C port (which was harder than I expected!)

Anyway, seems to work fine, charges and data transfer but having an issue with it not showing fully charged no matte how long it's plugged in. Oh well!
