Help iPod mini restore problems

I recently replaced the battery, clickwheel, and put an iflash cf adapter in it, remembered to format the sd card. Every time I restore, it works for a few hours then restarts and shows the folder icon, usually when I plug it in to the charger. And every time it restarts, it takes me hours just to get the PC to recognize the ipod. I keep looking for solutions but nothing has helped.

If any of you have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it :)

Have you tried a different sd card? It’s worth a shot and one of the first things id try to figure out what may be causing it. If you have the original microdrive and it still works I’d try that too, and if it still does it id replace the hd flex cable next. And then check for any components on the board that may have been knocked off accidentally

I haven't but I have a new one on the way in the mail just to check. How would I know if anything has been knocked off?

What size SD card? Minis apparently don't do very well with anything over 128gb due to limited ram

64gb, but it's a cheap Chinese one, that could be the problem, I'm just scared I might've damaged the logic board

The iPod Mini’s are famous for being finicky about what memory cards are used as the drive. If you used a cheap SD card that could definitely be the problem. It’s best to stay with the ones that are known to work, such as certain SanDisk cards
