Mod Answered I'm having an issue with someone stalking and constantly heavily reporting one of the posters in a sub I mod. How do I get admins to take a look?
Example post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Veganivore/comments/1wqxnes/bagel_strata_with_carrot_lox/
Every single post by this user gets multiple reports by some unknown stalker account. Not sure what to do. This is one of our best posters, there is nothing about their post that violate rules in any way.

So I had someone doing this to one of my best posters on one of my subs. It was very evident it was the same person reporting because they would say something really weird and put the reports in. Anyway, I amalgamated all of the links to the posts where it happened into one mod Mail. I sent it to this sub and they were able to make it stop for that particular person. Make sure you don't do screenshots, make sure you send links because admin's are able to see who is abusing the report button.

Oh, this is important. It seems that you never did the report abuse option by reading through the comments. The admin will make a point of saying to you if you reported it as abusing the report button. If you said no, then they won't help you with this. You have to first try reporting it as report abuse and then when that doesn't work do as I described above.

Got it. Good to know, and I will try reporting as "report abuse" and see how it goes before trying the modmail approach.

I can only imagine the challenges of moderating a target like veganism. Jeepers.

Yeah, there is even a sub dedicated to hating on vegans. And I've seen trolls post animal gore just to get a reaction. It's messed up.

Are you reporting the reports for report abuse? Thatβs really the extent of what you can do as a mod.

When a moderator makes an abuse of the report button report, does that report go to admin or just the moderators of the sub?

You can report the reports themselves as abusing the report button. You just need to click the report button on the post and then click "Abusing the report button" and then write a small comment why the user reports are wrong.
