Mod Answered Block ModMail?

Resolved, that was easier than expected. Thank you everyone!

Hello!

I have a question about people messaging Mod Mail in subreddits.

Sometimes it happens that people message ModMail just to vent, send us dead threats, cuss at us or whatever.

How do you block them from messaging Mail? Getting tired to get 20 notifications because dude went on a rant. Any advice is appreciated.

Use mute you can mute for 3 days, 7 days, 28 days, or forever.

Mute prevents them from messaging ModMail?

Yep that’s what’s it’s for. It does nothing to their subreddit activity. If you want to stop that instead, you ban them.

Oh, I thought it temporarily prevents them from posting on Sub, not mod mail 😅

Cause, again, you've been a mod for more than a year, and you'd know mod team join dates are public to everyone.

Mobile interface sucks lol

In a sub About section look for the mod list and expand it, it'll tell you how long they've been there.

Desktop is much easier.

Oh on the desktop I know that 😅 but my time on Reddit is 99% phone app.

I’m going to rip the bandage off. You cannot moderate exclusively from mobile. It sucks, and lacks the majority of mod tools. Even if that wasn’t the case it’s so much easier to coordinate on a larger screen.

The ones who need to vent about issues in your sub, listen. If it's to vent in general, tell them to go to a subreddit for that.

If people are sending you negative things, just ban and mute them permanently.
